Sika CemCrete

Multifunctional acrylic polymer for waterproof renders, screeds and slurry coatings

Product Overview

Sika CemCrete is a multifunctional acrylic-based polymer that upgrades ordinary cementitious mixes into durable, waterproof systems. Blended with cement, and where needed silica sand, it produces waterproof slurry coatings and brush toppings for roof slabs, basements, water tanks and sunshades. Beyond waterproofing, the milky-white liquid acts as a bonding agent for repair and plastering work and as a multipurpose mortar admixture, while also helping control leaching and saltpetre action on damaged surfaces. Mixed at a 1:2 ratio with cement for slurry coats, it improves adhesion, density and water resistance without complex plant. With a density of around 1.04 kg/L and a 12-month shelf life, it is a practical, site-friendly choice. Space Arc Engineering, an authorized Sika distributor in India, supplies Sika CemCrete to waterproofing applicators, contractors and repair specialists.

  • Mixes with site cement and sand using a standard paddle mixer, no special equipment
  • Available from 1 kg up to 200 kg to suit small repairs through large projects

Technical Highlights

CoverageAs a waterproof coating at 1:2 with cement, total consumption is about 500 g/m² per coat (around 200 g/m² of CemCrete); brush topping at 1:2:2 is about 2 kg/m² per mm (around 450 g/m² of product). Confirm against TDS.
StrengthTensile adhesion strength of about 0.5 N/mm² as a waterproof slurry.
PerformanceAcrylic polymer that boosts waterproofing, adhesion and durability of cementitious coatings and renders; density about 1.04 kg/L at +27 °C, pH about 8.
Application ConditionsApply between +10 °C and +40 °C; mix with a paddle mixer at 300–500 rpm for 2–3 minutes maximum.
PackagingSupplied as a milky-white liquid in 1, 5, 20, 50 and 200 kg containers.

Applications

  • Waterproof slurry coating on RCC roof slabs and terraces in residential buildings
  • Tanking of basements and retaining walls in commercial and infrastructure projects

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Sika CemCrete used for?

Sika CemCrete is an acrylic polymer used to make waterproof slurry coatings, brush toppings and renders for roofs, basements, tanks and sunshades. It also serves as a bonding agent for plastering and repair work and as a mortar admixture.

How is Sika CemCrete mixed for a waterproof coating?

For a waterproof slurry coat, CemCrete is mixed with cement at a 1:2 ratio using a mechanical paddle mixer at 300–500 rpm for up to 2–3 minutes. For a brush topping, a 1:2:2 ratio of CemCrete, cement and silica sand is used. Refer to the TDS for full mixing detail.

What is the coverage of Sika CemCrete?

As a waterproof coating at 1:2 with cement, total consumption is roughly 500 g/m² per coat, of which about 200 g/m² is CemCrete. A brush topping at 1:2:2 uses about 2 kg/m² per millimetre of thickness. Actual usage varies with surface profile.

Can Sika CemCrete stop efflorescence and leaching?

Yes, it is used to treat surfaces affected by leaching and saltpetre action, helping reduce salt migration while improving the water resistance of the coating system.
