Product Overview

Nitobond EP is a two-component, solvent-free epoxy resin bonding agent for use as a primer coat between a prepared concrete substrate and a subsequent repair mortar, topping, or overlay. It is specifically formulated for use with the Fosroc Renderoc range of repair mortars — Renderoc S2, HB2, SP40, LA Xtra, and others — and with concrete toppings such as Cemtop and Nitoflor floor systems. Applied by brush or roller to the prepared concrete surface, Nitobond EP cures to form a tenacious adhesive layer that dramatically improves the pull-off bond strength of the repair mortar or overlay above it. The Renderoc repair mortar must be applied while Nitobond EP is still in a tacky green state — too early (before the epoxy has reacted sufficiently) and the mortar floats on uncured epoxy; too late (fully cured) and the epoxy surface is glossy and non-receptive. Nitobond EP is also used to bond new concrete overlays to existing hardened concrete substrates in structural overlay work.
