Fosroc Conbextra GP2 — Non-Shrink Precision Grout

FOSROC CEMENTITIOUS GROUTS › PRECISION GROUTING

Fosroc Conbextra GP2

High-Strength, Non-Shrink, Free-Flowing Cementitious Precision Grout — for machinery bases, bridge bearings, anchor bolts, and critical structural applications.

Product Overview

Fosroc Conbextra GP2 is a ready-to-use, pre-packaged, dry powder precision grout that delivers exceptional performance in demanding structural applications. When mixed with a controlled amount of clean water, it produces a free-flowing, non-shrink grout capable of filling gaps up to 100mm in thickness.

Manufactured by Fosroc Chemicals India Private Limited, Conbextra GP2 is specifically engineered for applications where complete void-filling, precise load transfer, and long-term structural durability are non-negotiable. Its unique gaseous expansion system compensates for shrinkage during the plastic state, ensuring continuous contact between the grout and the base plate or substrate throughout the critical setting period.

Space Arc Engineering is an Authorized Project Distributor of Fosroc products across North India. We supply Conbextra GP2 in 25 kg bags with full technical support, site guidance, and competitive pricing for contractors, infrastructure developers, and project engineers.

Typical Applications

  • Grouting beneath base plates of turbines, compressors, and boiler feed pumps
  • Bridge bearing pedestals — ensuring uniform load distribution under bridge girders
  • Anchor bolt and mast grouting — for telecommunication towers, signage, and fence posts
  • Wind turbine tower base grouting
  • Heavy machinery and equipment base plate grouting in industrial facilities
  • Rail track support systems and sleeper grouting
  • Crane bases and overhead hoist foundations
  • Precast concrete joint grouting for walls, floors, and structural panels
  • Structural repair and concrete void filling

Key Advantages

  • Gaseous Expansion System: Compensates for plastic shrinkage, maintaining full contact with the base plate throughout curing
  • Zero Metallic Iron: Eliminates staining and long-term corrosion risk from embedded iron particles
  • Pre-Packaged Consistency: Factory-batched formulation removes on-site measurement errors
  • High Early Strength Without Chlorides: Achieves significant strength gain within hours without compromising embedded steel
  • High Ultimate Compressive Strength: Exceeds 50 MPa at 28 days for critical infrastructure applications
  • Free-Flowing Placement: Fills complex voids and cavities completely without vibration

Application Guide

Step 1 — Surface Preparation

  • Remove all oil, grease, dust, laitance, and weak concrete
  • Cut back damaged areas to sound, solid concrete using mechanical means
  • Pre-saturate the substrate with clean water to achieve SSD condition
  • Remove all standing water just before pouring
  • Ensure formwork is leak-proof, sealed at joints, and treated with release agent

Step 2 — Mixing

  • Use a mechanical mixer with high-shear paddle at low speed
  • Add measured clean water to the mixing vessel first
  • Gradually pour Conbextra GP2 powder into water while continuously mixing
  • Mix for 3–5 minutes until smooth and lump-free
  • Strictly maintain the recommended water-to-powder ratio — do not over-water

Step 3 — Placing & Curing

  • Pour mixed grout continuously from one side to avoid air entrapment
  • Ensure complete filling — grout must reach all edges and encapsulate anchor bolts
  • Cure immediately after initial set using wet hessian or polyethylene sheeting
  • Maintain moist curing for minimum 7 days
  • In hot conditions: use chilled water for mixing. In cold conditions: use warm water and insulate.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Fosroc Conbextra GP2 used for?

Conbextra GP2 is used for precision grouting beneath machinery base plates, bridge bearing pedestals, anchor bolt installations, and any application requiring a non-shrink, high-strength grout capable of withstanding both static and dynamic loads. It is the preferred choice for turbine bases, compressor foundations, and wind turbine installations.

What compressive strength does Conbextra GP2 achieve?

When mixed and cured as per manufacturer guidelines, Conbextra GP2 typically achieves compressive strength exceeding 50 MPa at 28 days. Significant early strength is gained within 24–48 hours, allowing progressive loading of the grouted assembly sooner than traditional mortars.

How much does a 25 kg bag of Conbextra GP2 yield?

A single 25 kg bag of Conbextra GP2 yields approximately 13.5 litres of mixed, flowable grout. For project estimation, calculate the total void volume in litres, divide by 13.5, and add a 10% allowance for waste and variation.

Is Conbextra GP2 chloride-free?

Yes, Conbextra GP2 contains zero chlorides and no metallic iron. This is critical for applications involving steel reinforcement, anchor bolts, or embedded metal fixtures where chloride-induced corrosion could compromise structural integrity over time.

Can Conbextra GP2 be used in hot weather conditions?

Yes, but precautions are necessary. High ambient temperatures accelerate setting, reducing working time. Use chilled water for mixing, store bags in a cool shaded area, and schedule grouting during cooler parts of the day. Protect fresh grout from direct sunlight and wind during the initial 24 hours.

Where can I buy Fosroc Conbextra GP2 in Delhi NCR?

Space Arc Engineering is an Authorized Fosroc Platinum Distributor based in Sahibabad, Ghaziabad. We supply Conbextra GP2 across Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Greater Noida, and across Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Pan India. What is the difference between Conbextra GP1, GP2, and GP3?

All three are non-shrink cementitious grouts but differ in gap thickness range and flow characteristics. GP1 is for thinner, more precisely controlled applications. GP2 handles gaps up to 100mm and offers the best all-round balance of flowability and strength. GP3 is designed for deeper pours up to 200mm where larger aggregate can be incorporated. For most machinery grouting projects, GP2 is the preferred choice.
