UltraTech is not the deepest chemicals catalogue in India and it does not need to be. It is the one where trust, price and availability are settled before the conversation starts. This page says plainly what the range is strong at, and what it is not.
What this range actually is — and what it is not
We sell eight brands. Telling you which one fits is more useful than telling you this one fits everything, so here is the honest scope.
Tile fixing and grouts
22 of the 60 lines are Tilefixo. This is the part of the range with real depth — ceramic, vitrified, natural stone, large format, wet area, plus cementitious and epoxy grouts — and it competes on equal terms with anything else on the market.
Everyday waterproofing
Weather Pro and Seal & Dry cover integral liquids, flexible coatings, reflective roof coatings, APP and HDPE membranes. For a terrace, a bathroom or a plinth on a residential or commercial building, this is a sound, available, sensibly priced answer.
Plaster, screeds and everyday repair
Readiplast ready-mix plaster, Floorkrete and Microkrete screeds and micro-concretes, PowerGrout non-shrink grouts and the Crack Filler range. These are the workhorse items a site gets through in volume.
Deep specification-grade chemistry
If a consultant has specified a particular epoxy chemistry, a PMMA floor, a galvanic anode system, carbon-fibre strengthening or an injection resin for a live water leak, UltraTech does not carry an equivalent and we will not pretend it does. Those live under Fosroc, Sika, MC-Bauchemie or Master Builders Solutions.
Severe industrial and chemical duty
Food and beverage floors taking thermal shock, sewer structures under acid attack, refinery bunding, tunnel linings. This range is not built for those environments and specifying it there would be doing you a disservice.
Procurement certainty
Availability, price and a name your client already trusts — because it is on the cement bags. For the large volume of ordinary work on an Indian site, that combination is often worth more than a marginal technical edge nobody will ever measure.
Tile fixing: pick what you are actually laying
Nearly a third of the range is Tilefixo, and this is where UltraTech competes with anyone. Start from the tile and the place, not the product name.
What matters
- Substrate cured, clean and reasonably flat
- Notch size matched to the tile so you get real bed coverage
- Adhesive combed in one direction, not swirled
The usual failure
- Hollow spots under the tile from partial coverage, which crack later
- Tiling onto a green screed that is still shrinking
What changes
- The adhesive has to develop adhesion chemically, not by absorption
- Larger and heavier tiles need a higher grade, not just more adhesive
- Back-buttering large formats is worth the extra time
Do not
- Do not lay vitrified on a sand-cement bed because it worked on ceramic
- Do not stretch a wall-grade adhesive onto a heavy floor tile
What matters
- Non-staining adhesive under light-coloured marble
- Enough open time to place and adjust a heavy slab
- White-grade adhesive under translucent stone so the colour is not shadowed
Watch for
- Efflorescence coming through from a damp substrate
- Deflection in the substrate – large formats do not tolerate movement
The order of work
- Waterproof first and prove it, then tile
- Adhesive rated for continuous wet exposure
- Epoxy grout where the joint has to resist water and cleaning chemicals
Remember
- The adhesive is not the waterproofing. A tiled bathroom over no membrane is a bathroom that leaks into the flat below.

The cement company’s own chemicals
Worth knowing, because the reason to buy this range is corporate rather than chemical — scale, distribution and a name the client already trusts.
UltraTech Cement Limited is the Aditya Birla Group’s cement flagship, and corporately a listed subsidiary of Grasim Industries rather than being held directly by the group.
FY26 consolidated net sales of ₹87,384 crore, PBIDT of ₹17,598 crore and PAT of ₹8,305 crore before exceptional items. This is not a small supplier attached to a big name.
Domestic capacity crossed 200 MTPA in FY26 (200.1 MTPA in India, 205.5 MTPA globally), making UltraTech the largest cement producer outside China.
Distribution, not chemistry, is the genuine differentiator. More than 1.5 lakh channel partners and over 80% market reach across India — which is why the material turns up when you need it.
A retail network the company describes as the largest of its kind for home builders in India. It is the reason a homeowner in a tier-3 town has heard of the brand at all.
The construction-chemicals range comes from UltraTech’s Building Products Division and is arranged into homebuilder-facing categories rather than by chemistry — which tells you exactly who it is designed for.

The waterproofing line is broader than people assume — integral liquids, flexible and reflective coatings, APP and HDPE membranes — and alongside it sit the ready-mix plaster, screeds, micro-concretes and non-shrink grouts that make up most of a site’s actual consumption.

Is UltraTech construction chemicals actually made by UltraTech Cement, or is it a licensed brand?
It is UltraTech’s own — the range comes from UltraTech Cement Limited’s Building Products Division, not from a third party licensing the name. UltraTech Cement is the Aditya Birla Group’s cement flagship, held corporately through Grasim Industries.
Is UltraTech good enough for a specified project, or is it only for residential work?
It depends entirely on what has been specified. For tile fixing, everyday waterproofing, plaster, screeds and non-shrink grouting on residential and general commercial work, it is a perfectly sound answer and often the sensible one. If a consultant has specified a particular epoxy chemistry, a PMMA floor, galvanic anodes, carbon-fibre strengthening or an injection resin for a live leak, UltraTech does not carry an equivalent — and we will tell you that rather than substituting. Those jobs go to Fosroc, Sika, MC-Bauchemie or Master Builders Solutions, all of which we also supply.
Why is UltraTech usually cheaper than the imported and specification brands?
Scale and distribution, mostly. The volumes are enormous, the manufacturing is Indian, and the range is deliberately built around the products a normal site gets through in quantity rather than around specialist chemistry. It is not a lower-quality version of the same thing — it is a different, narrower range aimed at a different job.
My drawing says Tilefixo VT but the shop is offering a differently named product. Are they the same?
Quite possibly, and this catches people out. UltraTech has moved the Tilefixo range towards tiered retail names while the legacy CT / VT / NT / YT letter codes are still in circulation on drawings and in old specifications, so two naming systems coexist. Send us the exact name on your drawing and we will tell you what the current equivalent is — rather than letting a site supervisor decide by guesswork at the counter.
What does an integral waterproofing liquid actually do, and is it enough on its own?
An integral liquid goes into the concrete or mortar while it is being mixed and reduces how readily the set material absorbs and transmits water. It is genuinely useful and it is not a membrane. On a terrace, a bathroom or a basement you still need a surface system on top of it. Anyone telling you an integral admixture alone waterproofs a roof is selling you a future leak.
Can I get UltraTech material in Delhi NCR at short notice, and outside NCR?
Yes — this is the brand’s strongest suit. We hold the fast-moving lines at Ghaziabad and supply Delhi, Noida, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad and Ghaziabad directly, and dispatch pan-India. Because UltraTech’s own distribution is so wide, availability is rarely the constraint.
Do you supply only, or can you execute the application as well?
Both. We are an authorised distributor and applicator based in Ghaziabad. For tiling and waterproofing in particular, the execution is where these systems succeed or fail, so having the same team accountable for the material and the workmanship removes the usual argument.
Can I get a technical datasheet and IS-code conformity for my QA file?
Ask us for the datasheet by product name and we will send the current revision. Where a product declares conformity to an Indian standard, that declaration is on the manufacturer’s sheet and we will supply it as issued — we do not restate conformity claims as our own or produce certificates on the manufacturer’s behalf.
