Nitoflor Hardtop

Dry Shake Surface Hardener and Dust Proofer for Industrial Concrete Floors

Authorized Project Distributor — Fosroc India | Space Arc Engineering, Ghaziabad

Product Overview

Nitoflor Hardtop is a factory-blended dry shake floor hardener consisting of cement, graded metallic or non-metallic aggregate, and polymer additives that is broadcast and power-floated into the surface of fresh concrete to create a hard, dense, abrasion-resistant wearing surface. Applied immediately after the concrete slab has been screeded and the initial bleed water has disappeared, Nitoflor Hardtop is broadcast at the specified rate, trowelled in, and then power-floated to produce a smooth, integral, non-dusting concrete floor surface with significantly better abrasion resistance than the plain concrete below. Metallic grade (quartz or metallic aggregate) versions provide very high abrasion resistance for heavy industrial use (forklift and hard rubber tyre traffic, steel wheel traffic). Non-metallic versions provide moderate abrasion resistance for lighter industrial and commercial use. The integral application means the hardener becomes part of the concrete slab — there is no risk of a separate layer delaminating. Nitoflor Hardtop is the most widely used dry shake floor hardener in India for warehouses, logistics parks, factories, and retail floors. Space Arc Engineering distributes Nitoflor Hardtop for industrial floor construction projects across Delhi NCR, Ghaziabad, and Northern India.

Applications

  • Warehouse and logistics park concrete floor surface hardening
  • Factory and heavy industry floor abrasion resistance treatment
  • Distribution centre floor hardening for forklift traffic
  • Retail store and commercial floor concrete surface treatment
  • Parking and loading dock floor abrasion resistant surface
  • Any industrial concrete floor requiring dust-free, abrasion resistant wearing surface

Key Advantages

  • Integral — becomes part of the concrete slab, cannot delaminate
  • Very high abrasion resistance (metallic grade for heavy duty applications)
  • Eliminates concrete surface dusting under traffic
  • Cost-effective — applied at time of slab construction, no additional curing time
  • Available in metallic and non-metallic aggregate grades for different applications
  • Power-floated to smooth, hard surface ready for use or coating

Frequently Asked Questions

When should Nitoflor Hardtop be applied to the fresh concrete?

Nitoflor Hardtop must be broadcast onto the concrete slab surface after the initial bleed water has receded from the surface (the surface should still be dark and workable, but the sheen of free bleed water should have just disappeared). Applying too early (over bleed water) will dilute the hardener and incorporate excess water into the surface, weakening it. Applying too late (when the surface is too stiff to work in the hardener) means the hardener cannot be properly integrated. Timing varies with temperature and humidity — in hot weather, this window may be very short.

What is the difference between metallic and non-metallic grades of Nitoflor Hardtop?

Nitoflor Hardtop non-metallic grade uses quartz or similar hard mineral aggregate and is suitable for warehouses and light to medium industrial traffic. Nitoflor Hardtop metallic grade uses iron aggregate particles that are harder than quartz and provides the highest abrasion resistance available from a dry shake — specified for very heavy industrial applications including areas with steel wheel vehicles, very heavy forklift traffic, or abrasive material handling. Metallic grade has a slightly darker grey appearance and costs more than non-metallic grade.

Does Nitoflor Hardtop need a separate sealer or coating after application?

Nitoflor Hardtop provides a hard, dense, non-dusting surface that can be left as-is for most warehouse and industrial applications. A penetrating sealer (siliconate or silane-based) can be applied after the slab has cured (28 days) to provide additional stain resistance and reduce surface porosity. If a coloured or chemically resistant finish is required, Nitoflor FC140 epoxy coating or Nitoflor Epoxy SL can be applied over the cured Hardtop surface after appropriate mechanical preparation.
