Dr. Fixit Crack-X Paste is a ready-to-use, water-based acrylic crack sealing compound from Pidilite Industries designed for the simple and effective repair of hairline cracks, fine surface cracks, and minor surface defects in interior and exterior concrete, cement plaster, brick masonry, and gypsum board surfaces. It is supplied in a tube or tub as a smooth, white paste that can be applied directly from the container using a finger, putty knife, or small spatula without any mixing, thinning, or site preparation of the product itself. After application into and over the crack, Crack-X Paste dries and cures to a hard, sandable, paintable surface that can be finished flush with the surrounding wall or ceiling surface and painted over with any standard interior or exterior paint, eliminating the crack from the painted surface appearance. Crack-X Paste is particularly formulated for the very fine, random shrinkage cracks that develop in cement plaster and concrete surfaces across the surface of Indian buildings over time — the result of cement carbonation shrinkage, thermal cycling, and minor drying movement. These hairline cracks (typically 0.1 to 0.3 mm wide) are too fine for conventional cementitious or epoxy fillers to penetrate and fill effectively, but the Crack-X Paste acrylic formulation has the right consistency and adhesion to be worked into the finest hairline crack with a flexible blade and to adhere firmly to the crack walls after drying. The dried Crack-X Paste film is slightly flexible, reducing the risk of the repair cracking again under minor subsequent thermal movement. It is available in standard white and can be painted over with any colour paint after drying.
