Dr. Fixit Speed Watergrip is a specially formulated fast-setting hydraulic cement compound manufactured by Pidilite Industries for the immediate stoppage of active water leaks, seepage, and running water ingress through cracks, holes, and construction joints in concrete structures. Unlike standard cementitious grouts or repair mortars that require a dry or damp substrate and are washed away or diluted by active water flow, Dr. Fixit Speed Watergrip is formulated with aluminate-based hydraulic cement binders that react rapidly with water — including flowing water — to develop initial set within minutes of placement. The rapid setting chemistry allows the product to resist hydrostatic pressure and active water flow during the setting process, making it the only practical remediation material for situations where water cannot be stopped or diverted before repair. Dr. Fixit Speed Watergrip is mixed with a small amount of clean water (or even with the leaking water itself in emergency situations) to form a stiff putty-like consistency that is immediately packed or forced into the leak point by hand. The material sets within 3 to 5 minutes and achieves early compressive strength within 30 minutes, sufficient to withstand moderate hydrostatic pressure and allow continued construction activities without extensive dewatering. Dr. Fixit Speed Watergrip is used in basement construction (plugging tie bolt holes, construction joint leaks, and honeycomb leaks in concrete walls), tunnel and underground structure repair, swimming pool and water tank repair (around pipe penetrations and cracks), and emergency repair of water retaining structures. After Speed Watergrip has plugged the active leak, a full crystalline or cementitious waterproofing treatment (such as Dr. Fixit Krystalline or Dr. Fixit Coat) is applied over the repaired area to provide the permanent waterproofing membrane.
