Nitomortar FC
Fine Cementitious Repair Mortar for Thin-Section and Large Area Concrete Repairs
Authorized Project Distributor — Fosroc India | Space Arc Engineering, Ghaziabad
Product Overview
Nitomortar FC is a fine-aggregate, polymer-modified, single-component cementitious repair mortar from Fosroc designed for cosmetic and structural thin-section repairs, large-area resurfacing of deteriorated concrete, and restoration of architectural and exposed aggregate concrete finishes. The fine aggregate grading of Nitomortar FC allows it to be applied in thinner layers than coarser repair mortars such as Renderoc HB2, making it suitable for surface repairs where the depth of deterioration is shallow (5 to 40 mm) and the priority is achieving a seamless, high-quality finish that blends with the existing concrete surface. The polymer modification of Nitomortar FC enhances the bond to the existing concrete substrate, improves the flexibility of the cured mortar to accommodate differential thermal movement, and reduces the rate of water absorption to provide long-term protection against the ingress of water, carbon dioxide, and chlorides. Nitomortar FC is used on building facades, bridge parapets, columns, beams, and any concrete surface where both the structural integrity and the visual appearance of the finished repair are important. The product can be applied by trowel or spray, and its fine texture allows it to be finished to closely match the colour and profile of the parent concrete when used with appropriate pigments. Space Arc Engineering distributes Nitomortar FC for building envelope repair, facade restoration, and structural concrete repair projects across Delhi NCR, Ghaziabad, and Northern India.
Applications
- Thin-section cosmetic and structural repair of building facade concrete
- Large-area resurfacing of deteriorated concrete beams, columns, and soffits
- Restoration of architectural concrete finishes and fair-faced concrete
- Bridge parapet and fascia concrete repair and restoration
- Repair of spalled and delaminated concrete cover zones
- Thin overlay for levelling and reproofing deteriorated concrete surfaces
Key Advantages
- Fine aggregate for thin-layer application (5–40 mm) and smooth finish
- Polymer-modified for high bond strength and flexibility
- Single-component — just add water, no site mixing of multiple components
- Low water absorption — resists water, CO2, and chloride ingress
- Can be trowel or spray applied for large areas
- Suitable for both cosmetic and structural concrete repair

Frequently Asked Questions
When should I choose Nitomortar FC instead of Renderoc HB2 for concrete repairs?
The choice between Nitomortar FC and Renderoc HB2 (or similar medium-aggregate hand-applied mortars) depends on the depth and nature of the repair and the required finish. Renderoc HB2 contains coarser aggregate and is better suited for deeper repairs (20–75 mm) where structural reinstatement of concrete section is the primary goal. Nitomortar FC with its fine aggregate is preferred for shallow surface repairs (5–40 mm), for repairs where a fine, smooth finish closely matching the parent concrete is important (such as architectural facades), and for large-area resurfacing where trowellability and a uniform texture are more important than structural depth.
Does Nitomortar FC require a bonding primer?
Yes. Like all cementitious repair mortars, Nitomortar FC requires a bonding agent applied to the prepared substrate before placement. Nitobond EP (epoxy) or Nitobond SBR (polymer slurry) are recommended as bonding agents. The substrate must first be mechanically prepared (grinding, scabbling, or hydrodemolition) to remove all deteriorated, carbonated, or contaminated concrete back to sound material, and the prepared surface must be saturated surface dry before applying the primer and then the repair mortar. Applying Nitomortar FC without adequate surface preparation and priming risks adhesion failure at the repair interface.
Can Nitomortar FC be colour-matched to the existing concrete?
Nitomortar FC has a grey cementitious base colour that can be adjusted by the use of mineral oxide pigments mixed into the batch water. An exact colour match to weathered or aged concrete is difficult to achieve in practice, as the existing concrete has been affected by decades of UV exposure, weathering, and surface contamination that cannot be exactly replicated in fresh repair mortar. However, skilled applicators can achieve a close colour match that renders repairs visually unobtrusive. For high-specification architectural concrete repair where appearance is critical, mock-up panels should be prepared and approved by the client before full-scale repair work proceeds.
