MC-Bauchemie MC-Easyplan 20 IN
A single-component, mineral-based self-levelling screed that turns an uneven, undulating slab into a smooth, tile-ready floor in one machine-mixed pour.
What is it?
A ready-to-use, polymer-modified cementitious powder that self-levels into a smooth 3-20mm mortar bed — just add water on site.
Where is it used?
Under ceramic/vitrified tiles, vinyl/LVT, carpet tiles and laminate flooring in homes, offices and retail interiors across India.
Why use it?
It flows to find its own level, cutting manual screeding, correcting slab undulations, and taking foot traffic within about a day.
How is it applied?
Prime with Nafufill SBR/BB2, mechanically mix at a 0.25-0.28 water:powder ratio, then pour and trowel within the ~40-minute pot life.
About MC-Bauchemie MC-Easyplan 20 IN
MC-Easyplan 20-IN is MC-Bauchemie’s single-component, mineral-based self-levelling mortar for flooring underlayment. Supplied as a grey powder built from mineral special binders, selected aggregates and polymers, it is mixed on site with water alone and poured onto a primed concrete floor, where it flows out and finds its own level across the full 3-20mm design thickness range. The polymer content is what gives it both flow and grip — the mortar spreads thinly and evenly under gravity, yet still develops a firm mechanical bond to the substrate once primed, which is why MC-Bauchemie specifies Nafufill SBR/BB2 as a non-negotiable first step, not an optional extra.
For Indian sites, that combination solves a very familiar problem: RCC slabs that are structurally sound but rarely flat enough for direct tile or vinyl laying. Rather than hand-screeding a sand-cement bed and waiting days for it to gain enough strength to walk on, contractors get a pumpable or hand-pourable mortar that takes foot traffic in about a day. That suits the pace of apartment redevelopment, office fit-outs and retail store rollouts across Delhi NCR, where flooring is often the last trade standing between a site and handover. As an authorised MC-Bauchemie distributor and applicator, Space Arc Engineering supplies MC-Easyplan 20-IN alongside its required primer and can walk contractors through mixing ratios, layer planning and curing on live projects.
The technical insight
The numbers on the data sheet explain the product’s behaviour. A fresh density of 2.0 ± 0.2 kg/litre and a coverage rate of 2kg of powder per m² per mm of thickness are both consistent with a dense, mineral-filled system rather than a lightweight fill — that density is part of why it self-compacts and self-levels without vibration or hand-tamping. The 0.25-0.28 water:powder ratio is narrow by design: too much water thins the flow and drops strength, too little and it won’t level itself, which is why MC-Bauchemie insists on mechanical mixing with a two-stage water addition (75% first, the remaining 25% after 2-3 minutes) rather than a single hand-stirred pour. Compressive strength of ≥20 N/mm² at just 7 days reflects a fast-hydrating binder system, letting the floor take normal foot traffic in roughly a day even though full cure is rated at 7 days.
Where it is used
- Underlayment beneath ceramic and vitrified tile flooring
- Substrate preparation ahead of vinyl, LVT or laminate flooring
- Levelling base for carpet tile installation in offices and institutions
- Correcting undulations and imperfections in RCC floor slabs before finish flooring
- Resurfacing sound, aged concrete floors in renovation and redevelopment projects
- Light-to-medium-duty (LD-MD) flooring in residential and commercial interiors
- Closed-room interior flooring works where a fast, low-disruption screed is needed
Key advantages
- Self-levelling and highly flowable — pours by hand or pump, sharply cutting manual screeding labour
- One machine-mixed pour handles 3-20mm thickness, with a documented two-layer method for anything thicker
- Rapid early strength — ≥20 N/mm² compressive strength at just 7 days, keeping the floor on programme
- Single-component ready-mix — only water is added on site, removing separate sand/cement/polymer batching
- Strong adhesion to properly primed, prepared concrete, reducing hollow-sounding or debonded patches
- Suitable for closed-room, occupied-building application, useful for phased renovation work
- 12-month shelf life in unopened 30kg sacks gives flexibility to stock ahead of multi-flat rollouts
Limitations & considerations
- Mechanical mixing is mandatory — sites without a heavy-duty drill and paddle will struggle to hit the specified flow
- Priming with Nafufill SBR/BB2 is a compulsory extra step and cost before the screed itself goes down
- Roughly 40-minute pot life means batch sizes must be planned tightly to the crew’s placing speed on large floors
- Rated for light-to-medium-duty (LD-MD) traffic only — not a substitute for heavy industrial or vehicular flooring
- Application window is +10°C to +35°C surface temperature; hot Indian summer slabs may exceed this and need technical guidance
- New concrete substrates must be a minimum of 28 days old before this screed can be applied
Selection & best practice
Treat priming as non-negotiable — dilute Nafufill SBR/BB2 1:1 with water on low-porosity concrete, or apply two coats on porous or old substrates, letting each coat dry before the next. Batch only what the crew can place inside the roughly 40-minute pot life, mixing mechanically with a heavy-duty drill and paddle at controlled speed, adding 75% of the water first and the balance after 2-3 minutes for the smoothest flow. Confirm the substrate is at least 28 days old and free of laitance, paint or grease, and shield the wet screed from direct sun and rapid drying — in hot or critical conditions, cover with wet hessian and polythene for 3-4 days instead of leaving it exposed.

Industry use cases
Residential Redevelopment / Apartment Renovation
Levelling slab undulations across multiple flats in a redevelopment project before vitrified tile or laminate flooring goes down.
Office & Retail Fit-Out
Preparing a flat, true substrate for carpet tiles or vinyl/LVT flooring ahead of a fast-track commercial interior handover.
Old Building Renovation
Resurfacing a sound but uneven old concrete floor so new flooring can be laid without a full slab replacement.
Institutional & Corridor Flooring
Levelling corridors and common areas in schools, hospitals or offices carrying light-to-medium foot traffic ahead of tiling.

How we position MC-Bauchemie MC-Easyplan 20 IN
MC-Easyplan 20-IN is designed to run in tandem with Nafufill SBR/BB2, MC-Bauchemie’s bonding primer — priming isn’t optional on this system, and Space Arc supplies both together for every flooring package. For heavier-duty or chemically exposed floors that exceed this screed’s light-to-medium-duty rating, the right step-up within the same brand is MC-Bauchemie’s resin-based MC-Floor / MC-DUR flooring systems. Fosroc’s Nitoflor range is sometimes mentioned in the same breath, but those are largely resin/epoxy toppings built for exposed industrial floors rather than mineral underlayment beneath tile, vinyl or carpet, so it isn’t a like-for-like substitute here; specifiers wanting a mineral, tile-ready underlayment are better served staying within the MC-Bauchemie Easyplan family, with Space Arc handling supply and on-site technical support.
