What is it?

A liquid-applied, two-component polyurethane-polyurea hybrid membrane that cures into a seamless, highly elastomeric waterproofing coat.

Where is it used?

Podium decks, balconies, parking slabs, terraces and roofs, and cut-and-cover tunnel roofs or underground metro station decks.

Why use it?

Fast curing, strong crack-bridging, puncture resistance and root resistance in one coat, so trafficable decks stay watertight under repeated movement and loading.

How is it applied?

Cold-applied by brush, roller or plural-component spray over a Cipoxy 16D epoxy primer, in two coats to build 1.5-3.0 mm dry film, then protected with a screed or UV-stable topcoat.

About Dr. Fixit Superseal 900

Podium decks are one of the toughest waterproofing briefs in Delhi NCR construction — a slab carrying planters, paver overburden, vehicle traffic and pedestrian footfall, sitting directly above a basement or covered parking that cannot afford a single leak. Standard brush-applied coatings often can’t take that mix of mechanical abuse and constant thermal movement. Dr. Fixit Superseal 900 is Pidilite’s answer for that bracket: a spray- or roller-applied, two-component polyurea-polyurethane hybrid membrane that cures into a single seamless sheet with no laps, no joints and no weak seams for water to find.

The hybrid chemistry is the point. Pure polyurea reacts fast and resists impact well but is harder to detail around penetrations; polyurethane brings better substrate wetting and higher elongation. Blending the two gives Superseal 900 a pot life workable on real sites (about 20 minutes at 30°C) while still delivering elongation beyond 600% and tensile strength above 15 N/mm² once cured — enough to stretch and recover over a moving crack instead of splitting.

The technical insight

Superseal 900’s real value shows up after handover, not on day one. It’s tested to EN 1062-7 Method B, Class B4.2 for dynamic crack bridging — rated to keep sealing over a live, moving crack rather than just a static hairline. Add puncture resistance above 1000 N (ASTM E154) and Shore A hardness over 70, and the coat can absorb rebar tips, aggregate and site traffic during screeding without being holed. Because it isn’t inherently UV-stable, it’s meant to be used as a stack — Cipoxy 16D primer, Superseal 900 membrane, TC1000 Ultra topcoat where the deck stays exposed — not as one standalone coating.

Where it is used

  • Podium decks over basements and covered parking, ahead of paver or planter overburden
  • Balconies and decks in residential and commercial buildings
  • Open and covered parking slabs and ramps
  • Terraces and roofs carrying a protective screed or paver finish
  • Cut-and-cover tunnel roofs
  • Underground metro station decks
  • Crack and construction-joint strip-coating, geotextile-reinforced, ahead of the full membrane

Key advantages

  • Seamless, fully bonded membrane with no laps or seams for water to track through
  • Class B4.2 dynamic crack bridging (EN 1062-7) — keeps sealing over live, moving cracks, not just static hairlines
  • Elongation over 600% and tensile strength above 15 N/mm², so the film stretches and recovers instead of tearing
  • Puncture resistance above 1000 N and Shore A hardness above 70 — survives foot traffic, rebar and debris during screeding
  • Root resistant, relevant on planted podium decks and landscaped terraces
  • Cold-applied by brush, roller or plural-component spray — no torching or hot bitumen fumes
  • Resists hydrostatic head above 70 m with water absorption under 1% — suited to genuinely wet, high-water-table decks

Limitations & considerations

  • Not for unconfined vertical surfaces like retaining walls, and not rated for potable water tanks
  • Not permanently colour-stable on its own; UV-exposed decks need the Superseal TC1000 Ultra topcoat over a fresh primer coat
  • Pot life of only about 20 minutes at 30°C leaves little margin for error, especially in Delhi summers
  • Demands proper substrate prep — 25 MPa minimum strength, under 8% residual moisture, CSP3 profile
  • Contains isocyanates, so applicators need gloves, goggles, protective clothing and good ventilation
  • A specialist, contractor-applied system rather than a retail DIY coating

Selection & best practice

Treat Superseal 900 as a system, not a single coat. Confirm the concrete is at least 25 MPa, cured 28 days minimum, residual moisture under 8%, and mechanically prepared to a CSP3 profile. Rout cracks wider than 1 mm into a 5 mm x 10 mm V-groove, seal with Feviseal HY 300, and strip-coat 100 mm wide over cracks and joints with 60 gsm geotextile between two coats. Prime with Cipoxy 16D at 150-200 ml/m² and apply Superseal 900 once the primer is tack-free, ideally within 3-4 hours and always inside 24 hours, or re-prime. Lay two coats at roughly 1.0 kg/m² each, second coat perpendicular after a minimum 6-hour gap, spike-rolling both to release trapped air, to reach 1.5 mm minimum dry film. Protect the cured membrane with a geotextile layer and an M20 screed within 10 days, finishing with TC1000 Ultra if the deck stays UV-exposed.

Industry use cases

High-rise residential podium, Delhi NCR

Waterproofing a podium deck over basement parking before landscaping and paver overburden, with strip-coated joints for slab movement.

Commercial multi-level parking

Trafficable membrane on parking slabs and ramps under daily vehicle loading and occasional fuel or oil contact.

Metro and tunnel infrastructure

Cut-and-cover tunnel roofs and underground metro station decks under backfill and hydrostatic pressure.

Institutional and commercial terraces

Roof waterproofing ahead of a protective screed or paver finish on large, exposed decks.

Housing society balcony retrofit

Re-waterproofing ageing balconies during a repair cycle, alongside crack sealing with Feviseal HY 300.

Frequently asked questions

Can it be left exposed to sun without a topcoat?
No — the data sheet states it is not permanently colour-stable, so UV-exposed decks need the Superseal TC1000 Ultra topcoat over a fresh Cipoxy 16D primer coat.
How thick does the membrane need to be?
Minimum 1.5 mm dry film in two coats of roughly 1.0 kg/m² each, up to 3.0 mm for higher-duty areas; thinner films won’t hit the tested tensile and elongation figures.
Can it go on a retaining wall or a water tank?
No — the TDS excludes unconfined vertical surfaces like retaining walls and potable water tanks; it’s tested for decks, podiums and roofs.
What primer does it need?
Dr. Fixit Cipoxy 16D epoxy primer at 150-200 ml/m², over concrete prepared to a CSP3 profile with at least 25 MPa strength and under 8% residual moisture.
How fast can we build over it?
Full drying is rated at 4 days at 30°C; the protective screed or paver overburden should follow within 10 days, over a loose geotextile layer.
Does it handle cracks in the concrete?
Yes — cracks over 1 mm are V-grooved, sealed with Feviseal HY 300, and strip-coated with geotextile between two coats; the cured membrane is rated Class B4.2 for dynamic crack bridging under EN 1062-7.

How we position Dr. Fixit Superseal 900

Within Dr. Fixit’s own range, Superseal 900 sits above the brush-applied bituminous and acrylic coatings — the specification a consultant reaches for when a deck has real traffic, real movement, and a basement below that cannot afford to leak. It works as a system with Cipoxy 16D primer, Feviseal HY 300 crack sealant, and the TC1000 Ultra topcoat for UV-exposed decks; Dr. Fixit PU Sealant handles the saw-cut joints in the screed above it. For projects already specified around Fosroc, the comparable category is Fosroc’s polyurea and PU deck-membrane systems — choosing between the two usually comes down to contractor familiarity and existing approvals, since both sit in the same ASTM C836-class hybrid-membrane bracket.
