How many coats of Sika-101h are required for a water tank?
For water tank waterproofing, a minimum of 2–3 coats of Sika-101h is recommended, applied at approximately 1.0–1.5 kg/m² per coat. Allow each coat to dry before the next. Pay special attention to corners and joints, which are the most vulnerable to water ingress.
Can Sika-101h be used on negative side (from inside a water-pushing wall)?
Yes. Sika-101h has resistance to negative-side water pressure, meaning it can be applied to the inner face of a basement wall where water is pushing from outside. This is one of its key advantages over many waterproofing systems that only work from the positive (water-facing) side.
Is Sika-101h suitable for drinking water tanks?
Sika-101h is a cementitious compound that, once cured, is generally considered inert and has been used in potable water tanks in India. However, for verified potable water contact approval, specify SikaTop-107 Seal IN which carries explicit potable water certifications.
