Product Overview
Renderoc HB2 is a factory pre-blended, single-component, lightweight structural grade polymer-modified cementitious repair mortar. The lightweight formulation (using low-density aggregate) provides the same high structural performance as Renderoc S2 but with significantly reduced self-weight, making it far more suitable for overhead and soffit applications where gravity would cause a standard-weight mortar to sag or fall from the substrate before it achieves initial set. Renderoc HB2 can be applied in a single lift of up to 75 mm on vertical surfaces and 50 mm on overhead soffits, making it ideal for repairing the underside of bridge beams, elevated slabs, and columns where access requires the mortar to stay in place without formwork. It is used with Nitobond EP or SBR bonding primer for maximum adhesion. Why is Renderoc HB2 better than standard Renderoc S2 for overhead repairs?
Renderoc HB2 is formulated with lightweight aggregate that reduces the density of the mortar. This lower self-weight significantly reduces the tendency of the mortar to sag or detach from overhead substrates before setting. Standard-weight mortars like S2 would require formwork or support on soffits beyond 20 to 25 mm thickness, whereas HB2 can be applied up to 50 mm overhead in a single lift without support.

Yes. Despite being lightweight, Renderoc HB2 achieves structural-grade compressive strength of over 40 MPa at 28 days, making it fully suitable for structural reinstatement of load-bearing concrete elements.
Can Renderoc HB2 be sprayed?
Renderoc HB2 in its standard form is designed for hand trowel application. For large-area overhead repairs requiring spray application, consider Renderoc SP40 or Renderoc DS40 which are specifically formulated for sprayed concrete repair.
