What is it?

A factory-blended, ready-to-use cementitious precision grout supplied as a dry powder. Mixed with clean water it produces a flowing, non-shrink grout for gap thicknesses of 10 to 100 mm, using Fosroc’s Sureflow technology for stable flow and dual (plastic + hardened) shrinkage compensation.

Where is it used?

Under heavy machine base plates, bridge bearings, steel stanchions and columns, crane rails, precast connections, anchor-bar fixing and the filling of concrete voids on industrial, infrastructure and power projects.

Why use it?

It combines high early and ultimate compressive strength with long workability retention, so large pours can be placed in fewer operations with fewer voids – even in hot Indian site conditions – while controlled expansion ensures full, load-bearing contact under the plate.

How is it applied?

Pour-place by gravity from one side into a leak-tight, pre-soaked formwork box after surface preparation; mixed in under 3 minutes with a slow-speed drill and grout paddle, then placed continuously to maintain hydrostatic head and avoid cold joints.

About Fosroc Conbextra Sureflow 100

Fosroc Conbextra Sureflow 100 is a new-generation cementitious precision grout positioned at the higher-performance end of the well-known Conbextra grout family. It is supplied as a ready-to-use dry powder – a controlled blend of Portland cement, graded mineral fillers and proprietary chemical additives – that needs only the on-site addition of a measured quantity of clean water to produce a free-flowing, non-shrink grout. The defining feature is Fosroc’s Sureflow technology, which improves the fluid stability and flow characteristics of the mixed grout so that it travels cleanly under a base plate without segregation, bleeding or cold joints, and holds that workability for an extended placement window even at elevated ambient temperatures. The product is engineered for gap thicknesses between 10 mm and 100 mm in a single pour, which makes it suitable for both thin precision bedding and deeper structural void filling without the need to pre-bag aggregate. A dual shrinkage-compensation system provides controlled positive expansion in both the plastic and the hardened state, counteracting settlement and drying shrinkage so that the cured grout maintains effective contact and load transfer across the full bearing area. Because the formulation is designed for low water demand, it develops high early strength – allowing earlier formwork striking and load application – while still reaching a high ultimate compressive strength suitable for dynamically and statically loaded equipment. For specifiers and contractors in India, Sureflow 100 is the grade to reach for when a job demands both genuine high-flow placement over larger areas and dependable strength gain, and where ordinary general-purpose grout would risk voids, slow mixing or strength loss in the heat.

The technical insight

Conbextra Sureflow 100 is a cementitious system, not an epoxy – so it is breathable, fire-resistant, dimensionally compatible with the surrounding concrete and economical for the larger volumes typical of machine grouting, while epoxy grouts remain the choice only where chemical attack or very high dynamic fatigue loads dominate. Its performance rests on two engineered behaviours. First, the dual shrinkage-compensation mechanism generates a small, controlled gaseous/mineral expansion while the grout is still plastic and a further restrained expansion as it hardens; the net effect is that the grout finishes flush against the underside of the plate rather than settling away from it, which is what actually delivers reliable load transfer in service. Second, Sureflow technology keeps the mixed grout cohesive at a flowable consistency, so the suspended fines do not separate from the water under a tall hydrostatic head – the failure mode that causes bleed channels and weak top surfaces in poorly designed grouts. The low water/powder ratio is the lever behind the high early strength: less mix water means lower capillary porosity and faster, denser hydration. Practically, the grout mixes to a homogeneous slurry in under three minutes and retains its flow long enough to place sizeable bedding areas continuously – a meaningful advantage in Indian summers where conventional grouts can stiffen before the pour is complete. The product is formulated to meet ASTM performance criteria for non-shrink grouts. Project-critical numeric values – 1/7/28-day compressive strength, flow time, fresh wet density and exact yield per bag – should be read off the current region-specific Fosroc Technical Data Sheet for the supplied batch, as these are graded by region and revision.

Where it is used

  • Precision grouting beneath heavy rotating and reciprocating machinery base plates (turbines, compressors, pumps, generators)
  • Bedding of bridge bearings and elastomeric/POT-PTFE bearing assemblies on highway and rail infrastructure
  • Grouting under steel stanchions, columns and structural base plates in industrial buildings and plants
  • Filling and fixing of anchor bars, holding-down bolts and dowels in pockets
  • Grouting of crane rails and rail soleplates in steel plants and ports
  • Bedding of precast concrete connections, joints and column-to-foundation interfaces
  • Filling structural concrete voids, honeycombing and under-pour cavities up to 100 mm deep
  • Capital and maintenance grouting on power, cement, steel, refinery and metro projects

Key advantages

  • High-flow, self-levelling placement under base plates with fewer voids and minimal mechanical effort
  • Single-pour capability for gap thicknesses from 10 mm up to 100 mm without site-batched aggregate
  • Dual shrinkage compensation (plastic and hardened state) maintains full bearing contact and load transfer
  • Extended workability retention, including in high ambient temperatures common on Indian sites
  • High early strength allows faster formwork removal and earlier loading, shortening downtime
  • High ultimate compressive strength suitable for statically and dynamically loaded equipment
  • Pre-blended dry powder – only clean water added on site, removing site batching errors
  • Mixes to a homogeneous slurry in under three minutes for efficient large pours
  • Cementitious system: breathable, non-flammable and thermally compatible with the host concrete

Limitations & considerations

  • Cementitious grout – not suitable where aggressive chemical attack or solvent exposure demands an epoxy grout such as Conbextra EP series
  • Single-pour depth is limited to 100 mm; deeper sections require multiple lifts or a different grade
  • Flow, expansion and strength gain are temperature-sensitive; very hot or cold conditions need adjusted water, curing and timing
  • Requires leak-tight, pre-soaked formwork and continuous one-side pouring to avoid air entrapment and cold joints
  • Mixed grout has a finite working life and must be placed promptly; over-watering to restore flow weakens strength and causes bleeding
  • Like all cementitious grouts it needs proper wet curing to develop rated strength and avoid plastic cracking
  • Not a structural concrete – intended for bedding, void filling and anchoring, not as a load-bearing replacement for structural sections
  • Exact published values vary by region and TDS revision, so the supplied batch’s data sheet should govern specification

Selection & best practice

Prepare the substrate first: roughen and clean the concrete to remove laitance, oil and debris, then keep it saturated surface-dry for several hours before grouting. Build a rigid, leak-tight formwork box with a generous pour-side head and an air-relief side, leaving a 25-50 mm clearance for flow. Add the grout powder to the pre-measured clean water (not the reverse) and mix for the recommended time – typically under three minutes – with a slow-speed drill and paddle to a lump-free, flowable slurry; do not exceed the maximum water dosage on the data sheet. Pour continuously from one side only to push air ahead of the grout and maintain a constant hydrostatic head until the gap is full and grout rises on the far side. Work to the supplied TDS for water content, placing temperature and minimum/maximum pour thickness, and protect and wet-cure the exposed grout surfaces immediately after placement. In Delhi NCR summer conditions, store material in shade, use cool mixing water and place during cooler hours to maximise the workability window. Frequently asked questions

Is Conbextra Sureflow 100 a cementitious or an epoxy grout?
It is a cementitious precision grout – a blend of Portland cement, graded fillers and chemical additives supplied as a dry powder. It is not an epoxy grout. For chemically aggressive environments or very high dynamic fatigue loads, Fosroc’s epoxy Conbextra EP range is the appropriate alternative.
What gap thickness can it be poured into?
Sureflow 100 is designed for gap or section thicknesses between 10 mm and 100 mm in a single pour. Thinner precision bedding or deeper sections beyond 100 mm should be handled with a different Conbextra grade or placed in multiple lifts per Fosroc guidance.
How is it different from Conbextra GP?
Conbextra GP is the general-purpose, shrinkage-compensated grout for routine work. Sureflow 100 sits a tier above it: the Sureflow technology gives better flow stability and longer workability retention – especially in heat – for larger or more demanding precision pours, with a 100 mm single-pour capability. For full numeric comparison, read both current data sheets.
How long do I have to place it after mixing?
It mixes in under three minutes and is formulated for extended workability retention so large areas can be poured continuously, even at high ambient temperatures. The exact working life depends on temperature and water dosage; follow the supplied Technical Data Sheet and never re-temper stiffening grout with extra water.
Does it need curing like normal concrete?
Yes. As a cementitious grout it must be protected and wet-cured immediately after placement to develop its rated strength and avoid plastic shrinkage cracking. Exposed surfaces should be kept moist or covered with curing membrane per the data sheet.
Can Space Arc Engineering supply and apply it across India?
Yes. Space Arc Engineering is an authorised Fosroc distributor and applicator serving Delhi NCR and Pan-India. We supply Conbextra Sureflow 100 with batch-matched data sheets and can provide method statements and trained on-site application support for machine grouting, bearing bedding and anchoring.

How we position Fosroc Conbextra Sureflow 100

Within the Fosroc Conbextra range, Sureflow 100 is the high-flow, high-retention precision grout to specify when general-purpose grades are not enough. It sits above Conbextra GP (general-purpose machine grouting) and complements grades such as Conbextra HF (high flow) and Conbextra HS/HR (high strength), while remaining cementitious – so where chemical attack or extreme dynamic fatigue rules out cement, the epoxy Conbextra EP series is the correct step-up. Typical companion products on the same job include Fosroc Nitobond reinforcing/bonding agents, Nitoprime substrate primers and Reebol form-release agents. Against the wider Indian market, credible cementitious precision-grout alternatives include Sika SikaGrout (e.g. 212/214) and MBS (MYK Schomburg) grout grades; Dr. Fixit and STP (Pidilite group) and STP Ltd offer construction-chemical ranges that overlap on general grouting and repair, though Fosroc’s Conbextra line is generally specified first on infrastructure and heavy-industry projects in India. Space Arc Engineering positions Sureflow 100 for clients who need verifiable flow and strength performance with authorised-applicator backing rather than the cheapest available bagged grout.
