Renderoc DS40
Dry Spray Structural Repair Mortar for Large Volume Concrete Reinstatement
Authorized Project Distributor — Fosroc India | Space Arc Engineering, Ghaziabad
Product Overview
Renderoc DS40 is a factory pre-blended, structural grade polymer-modified cementitious repair mortar formulated for application by the dry shotcrete (dry spray) process. In the dry-mix process, the pre-blended powder and aggregate are conveyed by air through the hose to the nozzle where water is added immediately before impact on the substrate. This method provides very high material velocity at the nozzle, resulting in highly compacted, dense mortar with excellent bond to the prepared substrate. It is the preferred application method for large-volume tunnel lining repairs, dam face repairs, retaining wall repairs, and large-scale infrastructure repair where the volume of material required makes wet spray or hand application impractical. Renderoc DS40 achieves structural grade compressive strength and is compatible with Nitobond bonding primers for maximum substrate adhesion. Space Arc Engineering distributes Renderoc DS40 for large infrastructure repair projects in the Delhi NCR region and across Northern India, particularly for tunnel, dam, and flyover rehabilitation projects.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Renderoc SP40 (wet spray) and Renderoc DS40 (dry spray)?
Renderoc SP40 uses the wet-mix shotcrete process where the mortar is pre-mixed with water before pumping to the nozzle. Renderoc DS40 uses the dry-mix shotcrete process where the dry powder is conveyed by air and water is added at the nozzle. Wet spray is generally used for smaller to medium applications with better consistency control. Dry spray is used for very large volume applications, tunnels, and remote sites where the compaction effect of dry shotcrete is valuable. Dry spray typically produces denser, higher-strength material but generates more rebound and dust.
What rebound should be expected when using Renderoc DS40?
Some rebound (material bouncing off the substrate) is inherent in dry shotcrete application. Typical rebound is 10 to 25% by weight, depending on nozzle distance, angle, substrate condition, and operator skill. The rebounded material must not be re-incorporated into the repair — it has lost its polymer and fine fraction and will not perform adequately. Trained nozzle operators and proper nozzle distance (typically 600 to 900 mm from the substrate) minimise rebound.
Does Renderoc DS40 need special equipment to apply?
Yes. Renderoc DS40 application requires a dry-mix shotcrete machine (gun) with a compressor capable of delivering high air volume and pressure. The equipment must include a water ring at the nozzle for water addition at the point of application. This is specialist equipment and the application must be carried out by trained and experienced shotcrete operatives. Space Arc Engineering can advise on equipment requirements and help connect contractors with experienced applicators for specific projects.
