Nitoproof 650PU is Fosroc’s premium liquid-applied polyurethane waterproofing membrane, engineered for structures where a joint-free, movement-tolerant barrier matters more than the lowest first cost. Supplied as a two-component system that is mixed and applied wet, it flows into upstands, drains, pipe penetrations and corners to form one continuous elastomeric skin. Because it is pitch-free and solvent-free, it avoids the odour, staining and long-term hardening associated with older bitumen-modified coatings, and its cure is an irreversible chemical reaction rather than a physical drying, so the film will not re-melt or flow on a hot Indian roof deck.

For engineers and contractors, the appeal is reliability at the details. Sheet membranes and rigid cementitious systems concentrate risk at overlaps, terminations and re-entrant corners; a seamless liquid membrane removes those weak points and lets you reinforce exactly where stress lives. The technical insight

The performance of Nitoproof 650PU comes from two properties working together: continuous adhesion and elasticity. Because the membrane is fully bonded to the slab, there is no void between coating and concrete for water to travel through. If the finished surface is later nicked or pierced, the leak stays local instead of migrating laterally and reappearing metres away — the failure mode that makes debonded sheet membranes so hard to trace and repair. Layered on top of that adhesion is high elongation: the cured polyurethane can stretch and recover, so it bridges the shrinkage and thermal-movement cracks that open in every concrete deck. Fosroc rates its crack-bridging capability at up to 3.7 mm, which comfortably spans the hairline-to-fine cracking typical of roof slabs and screeds. The chemical cure is equally important — it is a genuine reaction, not evaporation of a solvent, so the film reaches its final strength and stays there, unaffected by the elevated surface temperatures that soften bituminous coatings.
