Fosroc Renderoc Ready Plaster
A factory-blended, polymer-modified plaster that arrives as a dry powder, mixes with clean water on site, and delivers a crack-resistant, low-permeability finish on masonry and concrete.
What is it?
A single-component, polymer-modified dry plaster mortar of cement, graded fillers and chemical additives, supplied in 40 kg bags that need only clean water added on site.
Where is it used?
Internal plastering and external rendering on brick, block, stone and AAC masonry, plus concrete columns, beams, soffits and walls in residential, commercial and institutional buildings.
Why use it?
It removes the guesswork of site-batched sand-cement plaster, cutting shrinkage cracks, rebound wastage and finish inconsistency while achieving better substrate adhesion and lower water absorption.
How is it applied?
Mixed with clean water to a lump-free mortar, then applied by hand trowel or render pump at 10-15 mm per layer and cured; fresh render is protected from rain for at least 24 hours.
About Fosroc Renderoc Ready Plaster
Renderoc Ready Plaster is Fosroc’s answer to one of the oldest quality problems on an Indian site: the wildly variable sand-cement plaster that gets batched by hand at the mixing platform. Instead of trusting site labour to judge sand grading, cement ratio and water on a hot afternoon, the material arrives factory-blended in sealed 40 kg bags. Every bag carries the same graded fillers, controlled cement content and chemical additives, so the mortar that goes onto the wall on the ground floor behaves the same as the one on the fifteenth. All the crew has to do is add clean water, mix to a uniform consistency, and apply.
That consistency is the whole point. A polymer modifier is built into the blend to improve the bond between plaster and substrate, curb drying shrinkage and keep water absorption low once the coat has cured. The result is a plaster that grips brick, block, stone, AAC and concrete alike, resists the fine map-cracking that plagues rich site mixes, and finishes to a smooth, paint-ready surface with minimal rebound loss. For engineers and consultants specifying finishes on projects where a callback for cracked plaster is expensive and embarrassing, that predictability is worth more than the marginal cost over river sand and cement.
The technical insight
The performance gap between this and ordinary plaster comes down to two controlled variables: aggregate grading and polymer chemistry. In a hand-batched mix, poorly graded or silty sand leaves voids and demands excess water, and that excess water is exactly what drives drying shrinkage and micro-cracking as it leaves the hardened coat. Renderoc Ready Plaster uses factory-graded fillers at a fixed cement ratio, so the particle packing is optimised and the water demand is disciplined. On top of that, a redispersible polymer forms a flexible film through the cement matrix as it cures. That film does two useful things at once: it improves adhesion by wetting and keying into the substrate, and it accommodates the small movements and stresses that would otherwise open a crack. The same polymer network densifies the pore structure, which is why cured Renderoc Ready Plaster absorbs less water and behaves as a more durable, weather-resistant render than a comparable sand-cement coat of the same thickness.
Where it is used
- Internal wall and ceiling plastering in residential, hotel, hospital and commercial interiors
- External rendering on facades exposed to rain and weather
- Plaster over clay brick, concrete block and fly-ash block masonry
- Rendering AAC (autoclaved aerated concrete) block walls prone to shrinkage cracking
- Plastering concrete columns, beams and shear walls in framed structures
- Soffit plaster on concrete slabs and undersides
- Base coat beneath decorative textures, putty and paint systems
- Partition walls and blockwork infills in high-rise construction
Key advantages
- Ready to use — only clean water is added on site, removing sand grading and mix-ratio errors
- Factory-controlled batch consistency from the first bag to the last
- Non-sag behaviour allows thicker single-coat application without slump
- Improved adhesion to brick, block, AAC and concrete substrates
- Reduced drying-shrinkage cracking compared with rich sand-cement plaster
- Lower water absorption for better durability and weather resistance
- Minimal rebound and wastage, especially with spray application
- Smooth, uniform, paint-ready finish that speeds up downstream trades
Limitations & considerations
- A premium over site-batched sand-cement plaster, so it earns its place mainly where crack-free consistency matters
- Needs correct water dosage and mechanical mixing — over-watering to make it ‘flow’ undoes the shrinkage benefit
- Fresh render must be protected from rain for at least 24 hours after application
- Bagged dry powder has a finite shelf life and must be stored dry, off the ground and away from moisture
- Not a structural repair mortar — for deep concrete patch repair use a dedicated Renderoc repair grade
- Very high thicknesses must be built up in layers rather than forced into a single heavy coat
Selection & best practice
Prepare the substrate first: it must be sound, clean and free of dust, oil, loose particles and laitance, then dampened to a saturated surface-dry condition so the wall does not rob water from the fresh mortar. Mix each bag with the manufacturer’s recommended quantity of clean water using a slow-speed paddle mixer until lump-free and uniform — resist the temptation to add extra water to improve workability, as that reintroduces the shrinkage you are trying to avoid. Apply by trowel or render pump at 10-15 mm per layer; where more thickness is required, build up in coats and key each coat before the next. Rule the surface true, finish to the required texture, and begin moist curing once the plaster has set. Keep the fresh render protected from direct rain for a minimum of 24 hours, and in hot or windy conditions cure diligently to prevent rapid moisture loss.

Industry use cases
High-Rise Residential
Internal plastering and external rendering across many floors with the same batch-to-batch finish, reducing crack callbacks and snag lists in flats.
Hospitality & Healthcare
Smooth, low-absorption base coat for hotel and hospital interiors where a flawless paint finish and durable, hygienic walls are expected.
Commercial & Institutional
Rendering framed concrete columns, beams and blockwork infills in offices, malls and campuses where speed and finish quality drive the programme.
AAC Block Construction
Plastering lightweight AAC walls that are especially prone to shrinkage cracking, using the polymer modification to hold the coat crack-free.
Facade Rendering
External weather-facing render on masonry facades where low water absorption and rain resistance protect the wall and the finish behind it.

How we position Fosroc Renderoc Ready Plaster
Renderoc Ready Plaster sits in Fosroc’s Renderoc plaster and render family as the ready-to-use, dry-bag route to a consistent wall finish. Its closest sibling is Fosroc Renderoc Plaster, a cement-based polymer-modified plaster in the same performance bracket — specifiers who want the same crack-resistant, low-permeability system often choose between the two on the basis of local availability and packaging preference. For applications that need genuine structural concrete repair rather than a finishing plaster, look to the dedicated repair grades such as Renderoc RG (rapid-gain) or Renderoc SP-family patch mortars instead. To complete the wall build-up, Space Arc typically pairs this plaster with a cementitious waterproof coating or admixture where dampness is a concern, and with Dr. Fixit or Fosroc surface treatments and putties ahead of the paint system. Where a client is standardised on another brand, comparable polymer-modified ready plasters are available from UltraTech and MC-Bauchemie within our range.
