MasterFlow 9400

Ultra-high-strength, shrinkage-compensated cementitious grout for onshore wind turbine tower foundations

Product Overview

MasterFlow 9400 is a shrinkage-compensated, cement-based precision grout that, once mixed with potable water, forms a homogeneous, flowable and pumpable mortar with exceptionally high early and final compressive strength and modulus. Engineered with the latest binder-packing models and applied nanotechnology, it combines outstanding rheology with extended open time and superior fatigue resistance, making it the grout of choice for base-plate grouting of onshore wind turbine towers installed by pre-stressing techniques. It also suits heavily loaded equipment foundations and anchor-bolt fixing. Part of the Master Builders Solutions range (formerly BASF Construction Chemicals), MasterFlow 9400 is available through Space Arc Engineering, an Authorized Project Distributor in India, with full technical support for specification, mixing and placement on demanding renewable-energy and infrastructure projects.

Features & Benefits

  • Ultra-high compressive strength beyond the highest EN 206 class, in the order of C110/125 or higher
  • Rapid early strength of at least 50 MPa at 24 hours (20 degrees C) allows quick return to service and early removal of temporary supports
  • Ultra-high static modulus of elasticity (at least 40 GPa) for exceptional stiffness and load transfer
  • Excellent fatigue resistance ideal for the cyclic, dynamic loads of wind turbine towers
  • No segregation or bleeding, with an extended pot life of two hours or more for pumping into complex or inaccessible voids
  • Shrinkage-compensated, dust-reduced and low-chromate cementitious formulation for consistent, reliable performance

Technical Highlights

CoverageA 25 kg bag yields approximately 11.4 litres of mixed grout; 1000 kg of powder yields about 456 litres.
StrengthCompressive strength (EN 12190, 20 degrees C): at least 50 MPa at 1 day, 80 MPa at 7 days and 110 MPa at 28 days; flexural strength at least 13 N/mm2.
PerformanceStatic modulus of elasticity at least 40 GPa, drying shrinkage no more than 0.3 mm/m, capillary water absorption no more than 0.05 kg/m2.h^0.5; fire class A1(fl).
Application ConditionsApplication and substrate temperature +2 to +35 degrees C; pour continuously from one side only and do not vibrate. Do not add sand, cement or other materials.
PackagingSupplied in 25 kg bags or 500 kg bulk bags; shelf life 12 months in unopened bags stored cool and dry.

Applications

  • Base-plate grouting of onshore wind turbine towers installed by pre-stressing techniques
  • Anchoring of anchor bolts and holding-down bolts for wind turbine towers
  • High-load machine and turbine foundations requiring high modulus and ductility
  • Void filling beneath tower flanges from 25 mm to 300 mm
  • Heavy equipment bases, crane rails and bridge bearings on infrastructure projects

Frequently Asked Questions

What compressive strength does MasterFlow 9400 achieve?

It develops at least 50 MPa at 24 hours (20 degrees C) and at least 110 MPa at 28 days, with a strength class in the order of C110/125, exceeding the highest class covered by EN 206. Always confirm project-specific values against the current TDS.

Why is MasterFlow 9400 specified for wind turbine towers?

It combines ultra-high early and final strength, a high modulus of at least 40 GPa and excellent fatigue resistance, which suits the cyclic dynamic loads of onshore turbine towers and allows a quick return to service.

What layer thickness can MasterFlow 9400 be placed at?

It is formulated for void filling and base-plate grouting from 25 mm up to 300 mm. For other geometries, refer to the TDS or consult Master Builders Solutions technical support via Space Arc Engineering.

How should MasterFlow 9400 be placed?

Mix full bags with potable water only, then pump and pour continuously from one side to avoid air entrapment. Do not vibrate the grout. Pot life is at least two hours, giving ample working time.

Who supplies and distributes MasterFlow 9400 in India?

MasterFlow 9400 is supplied in India by Space Arc Engineering, an Authorized Project Distributor of Master Builders Solutions. Contact +91 9999155255 or info@space-arc.com for pricing, technical data and project quantities.
