What is it?

A ready-to-use, natural-aggregate cementitious precision grout with shrinkage-compensating chemistry, from the Master Builders Solutions MasterFlow range. It needs only clean water on site.

Where is it used?

Under equipment baseplates, soleplates and stanchion bases; in precast panel and beam joints; around holding-down bolts and dowels; for underpinning and preplaced-aggregate patching — typically in 10 mm to 100 mm clearances.

Why use it?

It hardens with positive volume change to ASTM C1090 — no bleed, no settlement, no drying shrinkage — and delivers 45 MPa in 24 hours at plastic consistency, so alignment and torquing can resume the next morning.

How is it applied?

Mix a 20 kg bag with roughly 2.46 L of water for plastic or 3.6 L for flowable consistency in a standard concrete mixer, pour continuously from one side of the prepared, pre-wetted void, and place within 30 minutes of mixing.

About Master Builders Solutions MasterFlow 810

MasterFlow 810 is the general-purpose workhorse of the Master Builders Solutions precision grouting range — a factory-blended, non-shrink cementitious grout built on graded natural aggregates. One bag covers two jobs: dosed with less water it trowels on as a plastic mix reaching 80 MPa at 28 days; with the full flowable dose it self-levels into congested voids and still achieves 65 MPa. Because the formulation compensates for shrinkage through its plastic and hardening phases, the grout keeps positive volume change from day one through day twenty-eight when tested to ASTM C1090, which is exactly what a machine foundation needs — full, permanent bearing contact under the plate.

For contractors and consultants in India, the practical appeal is site-friendliness. It mixes in an ordinary concrete mixer or with a grout stirrer, retains 75% of its initial 47 cm flow after a full hour at 23 °C, and adds no chloride to the structure. Space Arc Engineering stocks MasterFlow 810 for Delhi NCR and pan-India dispatch, and our applicator teams grout baseplates, precast joints and anchor pockets against method statements — not just deliver bags.

The technical insight

Site-batched cement grout fails machine foundations in a predictable way: bleed water rises, solids settle, and drying shrinkage pulls the grout away from the underside of the baseplate, cutting the effective bearing area long before the equipment is loaded. MasterFlow 810 attacks all three. A shrinkage-compensating system generates controlled expansion while the grout is still plastic and through early hardening, so measured volume change stays positive at 1, 3, 7 and 28 days under ASTM C1090 / CRD-C 621 restrained testing. Densely graded natural aggregate gives a plastic density around 2,145 kg/m³ and a hardened grout tight enough to act as a watertight seal. The admixture package holds workability chemically — 90% flow retention at 30 minutes, 75% at one hour — so crews never need the strength-killing shortcut of retempering with extra water.

Where it is used

  • Precision grouting of critical equipment baseplates, soleplates and skid frames in process and manufacturing plants
  • Stanchion and column base grouting during PEB and structural-steel erection
  • Bedding and joint grouting of precast wall panels, beams, columns and curtain-wall members
  • Anchoring of holding-down bolts, dowels, rebar starters and other fixings
  • Underpinning of existing foundations in strengthening and rehabilitation work
  • Patching honeycombed concrete using the preplaced-aggregate technique
  • Bedding of bearing plates and statically loaded machine bases
  • General civil-engineering grouting of 10-100 mm clearances where early strength matters

Key advantages

  • One bag, two consistencies — trowelable plastic mix for pockets and patches, flowable mix for congested voids under plates
  • High early strength: 45 MPa in 24 hours at plastic consistency, so alignment checks and bolt torquing proceed next day
  • Genuinely non-shrink: positive volume change at 1 through 28 days under ASTM C1090 / CRD-C 621
  • Zero bleeding and settlement at flowable consistency (AS 1012.6), preserving full bearing contact
  • 75% flow retention after one hour at 23 °C — realistic placing time even in hot weather
  • No added chloride, so it is safe alongside embedded reinforcement and fixings
  • Mixes in a standard concrete mixer or pail with a grout stirrer — no specialist plant
  • Economical for volume grouting, with low VOC content of 3 g/L

Limitations & considerations

  • Not a dry-pack material — where damp-pack consistency is specified, MasterFlow 700 is the correct product
  • Cementitious chemistry suits static loads; vibrating or dynamically loaded machinery bases should move to an epoxy grout such as MasterFlow 648
  • Designed for 10-100 mm clearances; deeper single pours need aggregate extension per the MasterFlow application guide — consult us before pouring
  • Must be placed within 30 minutes of mixing; adding water to recover lost flow causes bleed, segregation and strength loss
  • Published data comes from restrained 50 mm cube tests at 23 °C — hot-weather sites should run trial mixes to fix actual water demand
  • Offers no chemical-resistance claim; acid or solvent spill zones call for epoxy grouting instead

Selection & best practice

Preparation decides the result. Chip the foundation back to sound, laitance-free concrete, and saturate it with clean water well before the pour, removing any standing water just prior to grouting. Build leak-tight formwork with a head box on one side only, and pour continuously from that side so air escapes ahead of the grout rather than getting trapped under the plate. Measure water accurately — about 2.46 L per 20 kg bag for plastic or 3.6 L for flowable consistency — mix mechanically to a uniform, lump-free state, and place within 30 minutes. Never add water to revive a stiffening mix. If the project requires site strength testing, cast restrained 50 mm cubes with cover plates per AS 1478.2 — cylinder moulds under-report non-shrink grout strength. Cure exposed shoulders with wet hessian or curing compound, and in peak summer shade the bags, use cool water and grout early in the day.

Frequently asked questions

Should I mix it flowable or plastic?
Both come from the same bag — the water dose decides. Use flowable (about 3.6 L per 20 kg) for congested voids under baseplates where the grout must travel and self-level. Use plastic (about 2.46 L) for bolt pockets, patches and wherever the higher strength grade of 80 MPa at 28 days is specified.
How soon can the baseplate be loaded?
MasterFlow 810 reaches 45 MPa in 24 hours at plastic consistency and 25 MPa flowable, so alignment and torquing typically resume the next day, subject to the project engineer’s acceptance criteria. Ultimate strengths of 80/65 MPa arrive at 28 days.
What is the yield per bag?
A 20 kg bag mixed flowable with 3.6 L of water yields about 11 litres of grout — roughly 91 bags per cubic metre. Always confirm with a site trial, as water demand shifts with temperature.
Is it certified non-shrink?
Yes. It meets the non-shrink requirements of ASTM C1090 and CRD-C 621 with positive volume change from 1 to 28 days, tested to AS 1478.2, and shows nil bleeding at flowable consistency.
Can I use it under vibrating machinery?
For static and general equipment loads, yes. For dynamic bases — crushers, reciprocating compressors, DG sets — specify an epoxy grout such as MasterFlow 648. Share your load case with us and we will confirm the right grade.
What gap thickness can it fill?
It is designed for clearances between 10 mm and 100 mm. Deeper sections can be grouted with aggregate extension following the MasterFlow application guide — speak to Space Arc before planning a thick single pour.
