What is it?

A pigmented, two-component polyaspartic polyurethane coating (Part A + Part B, mixed 1:1 by weight), applied as a thin, seamless, foot-trafficable film over exposed roofs.

Where is it used?

Terraces, exposed RCC roof slabs, podiums and walkways — as the UV-resistant topcoat over Dr. Fixit’s polyurea/PU waterproofing, or standalone on sound concrete.

Why use it?

Ordinary waterproofing membranes chalk, crack and fade within a couple of monsoons under Delhi NCR’s UV load; this polyaspartic topcoat resists that breakdown while staying flexible and abrasion-tough underfoot.

How is it applied?

Mix Part A and Part B 1:1 by weight on a slow-speed drill for 2-3 minutes, then brush, roller or spray-apply — one coat over polyurea/PU membranes (~150 microns DFT), or two coats over primed concrete (~250 microns DFT).

About Dr. Fixit Superseal TC 1000 Ultra

Dr. Fixit Superseal TC 1000 Ultra sits at the top of Pidilite’s roof-protection range: a two-component polyaspartic polyurethane coating built for what an exposed Delhi NCR terrace takes — scorching summer decks, sudden monsoon downpours, and daily foot traffic on roofs used as amenity space. Rather than waterproofing the slab itself, it sits over Dr. Fixit’s polyurea or PU spray membranes, or directly on sound concrete, as a tough, UV-stable wearing coat so the waterproofing underneath stops chalking and fading years before it should.

As Dr. Fixit’s authorised applicators, we mix Part A and Part B strictly 1:1 by weight until uniform, then apply within the 50-60 minute working window. Over a freshly sprayed polyurea membrane, it goes on within 4-24 hours with no primer; miss that window and the surface needs reactivating with Dr. Fixit Bond TC first. Over bare concrete we prime with Cipoxy 16D and lay two coats to build the full 250-micron film — the difference between a topcoat that peels in two seasons and one that earns its “Ultra” name.

The technical insight

Most “UV-resistant” roof topcoats sold in India are aromatic polyurethanes or acrylics, chemistries whose backbone absorbs UV energy and breaks down into chalk within 18-24 months of Delhi’s sun. Superseal TC 1000 Ultra uses an aliphatic polyaspartic resin instead — the same class used in premium industrial floor topcoats — because its backbone lacks the UV-sensitive double bonds aromatic PUs carry. That’s why Pidilite can quote a Solar Reflective Index of 104 and 250% elongation without sacrificing the abrasion resistance a trafficked terrace demands.

Where it is used

  • UV-protective topcoat over Dr. Fixit polyurea spray waterproofing membranes
  • Topcoat over Dr. Fixit polyurethane (PU) roof waterproofing systems
  • Standalone protective wearing coat on sound, exposed concrete terraces
  • Podium decks, habitable roof terraces and utility roofs under foot traffic
  • Walkways and access corridors above waterproofed structural roofs
  • Colour-coded roof zoning for institutional/commercial terraces using the five RAL shades
  • Recoat topcoat over aged, chalked polyurea/PU membranes after Bond TC reactivation

Key advantages

  • Aliphatic polyaspartic chemistry resists UV chalking and fade far longer than standard aromatic PU or bituminous topcoats
  • 250% elongation (ASTM D412) lets the film bridge thermal movement and hairline cracks without splitting
  • 14 N/mm² tensile and 55 N/mm tear strength give a genuinely tough wearing surface, not just paint
  • Documented abrasion resistance (20 mg loss, ASTM D4060) suited to trafficked terraces and walkways
  • Foot-trafficable in 24-36 hours, shortening terrace downtime versus many recoat systems
  • Solar Reflective Index of 104 (white) helps cut roof surface temperature and cooling load
  • Backed by Pidilite’s nationwide technical support and Space Arc’s certified applicator team

Limitations & considerations

  • It’s a topcoat/wearing coat, not a waterproofing membrane — waterproofing must come from a compatible Dr. Fixit polyurea/PU system or sound concrete underneath
  • The no-primer window over polyurea is only 4-24 hours after spraying; miss it and the surface needs Bond TC reactivation, adding a step and cost
  • Not documented for below-grade, submerged or continuously ponding applications — it’s formulated for exposed, weathering roof surfaces
  • Needs ambient/surface temperatures above 10°C with no rain risk before touch-dry, narrowing working days in Delhi’s winter mornings and monsoon spells
  • A 50-60 minute pot life means large terraces must be batched carefully to avoid wasting part-cured material
  • Colour choice is limited to five factory RAL shades — no open-ended custom colour matching

Selection & best practice

Surface prep is non-negotiable: the substrate, whether cured polyurea or bare concrete, must be clean, dry and free of oil, dust and loose material. On concrete, always prime with Cipoxy 16D at 4-5 m²/ltr and apply two coats at 2.5 m²/kg to hit the full 250-micron DFT; skipping the primer or under-dosing coverage is the biggest cause of premature peeling we see on site. Over fresh polyurea, coat within the 4-24 hour window without primer; past that, insist on Bond TC reactivation. Mix only what can be applied within 50-60 minutes, and hold temperature above 10°C with no rain risk until touch-dry.

Industry use cases

Residential rooftops & societies

Standalone protective coat on exposed RCC terraces used for drying and gathering space, replacing bare concrete that cracks and stains within a few monsoons.

Commercial & retail podiums

UV topcoat over Dr. Fixit polyurea-waterproofed podium decks and parking-level roofs under continuous vehicular and foot traffic.

Institutional & educational campuses

Colour-coded roof zoning across hostel and academic terraces using the five RAL shades, with genuine abrasion resistance for walked corridors.

Industrial plants & warehouses

Protective wearing coat over PU-waterproofed plant roofs and walkways where equipment movement demands real abrasion resistance, not a decorative topcoat.

Retrofit & waterproofing refurbishment

Recoating aged, chalked polyurea/PU membranes after Bond TC reactivation, extending membrane life without a full tear-off.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a waterproofing membrane on its own?
No — it’s a protective UV-resistant topcoat. Waterproofing comes from a Dr. Fixit polyurea/PU membrane underneath, or from sound, graded concrete if used standalone.
Can we apply it over an old bituminous roof membrane?
The documented system covers polyurea/PU membranes and bare concrete only. Space Arc will assess the existing membrane and recommend a compatible primer or alternative system rather than guess.
How many coats and what’s the coverage?
One coat at ~4 m²/kg over a polyurea/PU membrane (~150 microns DFT), or two coats at 2.5 m²/kg over primed concrete (~250 microns DFT total).
How soon can the terrace be used after coating?
Foot-trafficable in 24-36 hours, though quoted mechanical properties are measured after a full 14-day cure — we’d hold off heavy use till then.
What colours are available?
Five factory RAL shades: White, Grey, Terra cotta, Green and Light Blue. No open custom colour matching.
Does Space Arc supply the material only, or apply it too?
Both — we supply the 5 kg combo packs and, as authorised Dr. Fixit applicators, also run full surface prep, priming and coating with our own crews.

How we position Dr. Fixit Superseal TC 1000 Ultra

Within Dr. Fixit’s range, Superseal TC 1000 Ultra pairs with the polyurea/PU waterproofing it protects, Cipoxy 16D as the concrete primer, and Bond TC for reactivating aged polyurea before recoating — effectively one system. Where a project favours acrylic over polyaspartic chemistry, or anti-carbonation protection matters more than raw toughness, Fosroc Dekguard Elastic is a credible alternative: a water-based elastomeric acrylic with over 400% elongation and documented chloride-ingress protection, though it doesn’t match Superseal’s abrasion resistance or tensile strength for heavily trafficked terraces. Space Arc stocks and applies both, specifying on performance need.

Preferred brand · Fosroc equivalent

Fosroc Dekguard Elastic — Specifiers who prioritise anti-carbonation/chloride protection with a proven water-based acrylic elastomeric system over Superseal TC 1000 Ultra’s higher abrasion resistance and tensile strength might choose Dekguard Elastic instead.
