Product Overview

Auramix 350 is an advanced third-generation polycarboxylate ether (PCE) superplasticiser engineered for extended slump retention in high performance and self-compacting concrete applications. Where Auramix 300 offers good slump retention, Auramix 350 provides an enhanced, longer-duration slump retention profile — making it the preferred grade for concrete that is transported over very long distances (more than 90 minutes transport time), for hot weather concreting where rapid slump loss is a persistent challenge, or for large pours where uniform workability is needed across extended placing durations. Auramix 350 enables production of high-strength and self-compacting concretes with very low water-cement ratios while maintaining the flow and self-compacting characteristics needed for difficult formwork and heavily reinforced sections. Like all Auramix PCE admixtures, Auramix 350 is compatible with all Portland cements, fly ash, GGBS, and silica fume, and meets IS 9103 and ASTM C494 requirements. In what situations should Auramix 350 be preferred over Auramix 300?

Choose Auramix 350 over Auramix 300 when: the concrete transport time from plant to discharge is more than 60 to 90 minutes; ambient temperature during placing exceeds 35 degrees C; the pour takes more than 3 to 4 hours to complete and uniform workability throughout is essential; or when self-compacting concrete must remain self-levelling for extended periods. For standard ready mix applications with reasonable transport times and moderate temperatures, Auramix 300 is typically adequate and more economical.

Does extended slump retention from Auramix 350 delay the final set of concrete?

Extended slump retention from PCE admixtures like Auramix 350 can be associated with some initial set retardation, particularly at higher dosages or in cool weather. However, properly dosed Auramix 350 should not cause excessive retardation at normal dosage rates. If retardation is a concern (for example in column pours that must be stripped quickly), trial mixes should be carried out to verify set time at the intended dosage before site use.

Can Auramix 350 be combined with other Fosroc admixtures?

Yes. Auramix 350 can be used in combination with other compatible Fosroc admixtures including air-entraining agents (Conplast AEA), set accelerators (Conplast NC), and supplementary materials. However, never pre-mix different admixtures together before addition to concrete — add each admixture separately to the concrete mixer or mixing water.
