Conbextra EP300 — High Viscosity Epoxy Resin Grout for Stiffening and Gap Filling

Conbextra EP300

High Viscosity Epoxy Resin Grout for Stiffening and Gap Filling

Authorized Project Distributor — Fosroc India | Space Arc Engineering, Ghaziabad

Product Overview

Conbextra EP300 is a two-component, solvent-free, high viscosity (paste consistency) thixotropic epoxy grouting compound. Unlike the free-flow epoxy grout Conbextra EP75, Conbextra EP300 is formulated for applications where a paste-consistency epoxy is needed — for example, filling gaps in difficult orientations (vertical, inclined), filling deep voids where a self-levelling fluid would drain before curing, stiffening of machine bases and rail plate assemblies where a higher viscosity material is preferred, and structural anchorage of bolts and inserts in oriented positions. The paste consistency allows it to be applied with a spatula or pressed into position by hand and remain in place while curing without draining. Like Conbextra EP75, EP300 is solvent-free, achieves very high compressive strength after full cure, and provides good chemical resistance to oils and fuels. Space Arc Engineering distributes Conbextra EP300 for precision grouting and structural filling applications in the industrial and infrastructure sectors across Delhi NCR, Ghaziabad, and Northern India.

Applications

  • Vertical and inclined gap filling under machine base frames
  • Structural filling of voids in difficult orientations where fluid grout would drain
  • Stiffening of rail plate and track assemblies with paste epoxy
  • Bolt and insert anchorage in non-vertical orientations
  • Gap filling at machinery-to-structure interfaces requiring epoxy specification
  • Structural void filling where paste consistency is preferred over free-flow

Key Advantages

  • High viscosity paste — stays in place in vertical and inclined orientations
  • Thixotropic — stiff at rest, becomes workable under applied pressure
  • Very high compressive strength after full cure
  • Solvent-free for confined space application
  • Two-component for consistent performance after mixing
  • Complements Conbextra EP75 for applications requiring paste consistency

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the main difference between Conbextra EP75 and Conbextra EP300?

Conbextra EP75 is a free-flow, self-levelling epoxy grout for horizontal machine base grouting where the grout is poured or pumped in. Conbextra EP300 is a high-viscosity, paste-consistency epoxy for situations where a free-flowing grout would drain or flow out — vertical gaps, inclined surfaces, or deep voids in non-horizontal orientations. Both achieve very high compressive strength and chemical resistance, but their consistency and application method are fundamentally different.

How is Conbextra EP300 applied to a vertical gap under a machine?

Conbextra EP300 is mixed by combining the two components thoroughly for at least 3 minutes until a uniform colour is achieved. The mixed paste is then applied using a spatula or trowel into the gap, or in some applications pressed in by hand. For gaps under machine frames, the material can be packed into the gap from both sides and pressed firmly to ensure full contact and no voids. Temporary formwork or tape may be needed at the edges to retain the paste while it cures.

What is the pot life of Conbextra EP300 at typical Indian site temperatures?

At 25 degrees C, Conbextra EP300 has a pot life of approximately 45 minutes after mixing. At higher temperatures (above 35 degrees C common in Indian summers), the pot life reduces significantly to 20 to 30 minutes. Cool the components before mixing in hot weather and mix only the quantity that can be applied within the working pot life. Use the full pot life — the exothermic heat generated as the epoxy cures means the paste will become firmer near the end of pot life.
