Product Overview
Sika® Hibond is a ready-to-use cementitious bonding agent formulated to ensure an effective structural connection between old, hardened concrete substrates and freshly applied concrete, mortar, or repair compounds. It is typically brushed or scrubbed onto the prepared concrete surface before the new material is placed while the Hibond slurry is still fresh and tacky. This ensures excellent mechanical keying and chemical bonding between the two layers, preventing delamination under load. When should Sika Hibond be applied?
Sika Hibond slurry should be scrubbed onto the prepared, clean, and saturated-surface-dry (SSD) concrete substrate and the new concrete or repair mortar placed while the Hibond is still wet and tacky. Do not allow it to dry before placing the new material.
Can Sika Hibond be used with all repair mortars?
Sika Hibond is compatible with most cementitious repair mortars including SikaTop and Sika MonoTop series. For epoxy mortar bonding, use Sikadur-32 IN instead.
