What is it?

A two-component, coloured epoxy flooring system that combines a Sikafloor-264 HC primer with a texture coat blended with Sika Extender T to create a rigid, anti-skid surface.

Where is it used?

Multi-storey and basement car park decks, ramps, aircraft hangars, and food and beverage wet-process floors where slip resistance and liquid tightness both matter.

Why use it?

It delivers reliable grip in wet and oily conditions while staying hard-wearing, liquid-tight and easy to clean, all from a proven Sika epoxy chemistry.

How is it applied?

Roller-primed with Sikafloor-264 HC, then a thixotropic texture coat is roller or squeegee applied to build the anti-skid profile at 0.5 mm minimum.

About Sika Sikafloor MultiDur ET-05 AP

Sikafloor MultiDur ET-05 AP is Sika’s textured, slip-resistant answer to floors that stay wet, greasy or trafficked hard. Rather than a single product, it is a defined system: a Sikafloor-264 HC epoxy primer bonds into the prepared concrete, and a second coat of the same resin, thickened with Sika Extender T at roughly 2 percent, is laid over it to raise a fine anti-skid texture. The result is a rigid, coloured, liquid-tight floor that grips underfoot even when contaminated with water, oil or process spillage. Because both layers share the same epoxy backbone, the finished surface behaves as one monolithic film with no weak interface between grip and substrate.\n\nFor Indian car park decks, hangar aprons and food-processing halls, that combination is exactly what specifiers reach for. The system carries the mechanical and chemical resistance of Sikafloor-264 HC while adding the one property a smooth epoxy cannot provide on its own, namely dependable traction on a ramp or a wash-down floor. Space Arc Engineering supplies and applies ET-05 AP as an authorised Sika distributor and applicator across Delhi NCR and pan-India, so the specification, the primer-to-topcoat consumptions and the site application are handled as a single accountable package.

The technical insight

The anti-skid behaviour is engineered, not sprinkled on. Sika Extender T is a thixotropic agent: mixed into the Sikafloor-264 HC resin, it makes the coat hold a raised, stippled profile as it is rolled rather than flowing back flat like a self-levelling topping. When the epoxy cures, that micro-texture is locked permanently into a hard, cross-linked film, so the grip does not wear away as loose broadcast aggregate can. Underneath, the primer coat wets into the open pores of the mechanically prepared concrete and develops a tensile bond well above the 1.5 N/mm2 pull-off strength the substrate must provide. Because the whole build is thin-film epoxy at a 0.5 mm minimum, it cures rigid and liquid-tight, sealing the deck against water and process fluids while the surface texture keeps tyres and boots from slipping. It is a deliberately simple physics: the same chemistry that gives Sikafloor-264 HC its abrasion and chemical resistance is simply re-profiled at the surface to add friction.

Where it is used

  • Slip-resistant surfacing for multi-storey and basement car park decks
  • Ramps, turning circles and speed-breaker zones inside parking structures
  • Aircraft maintenance hangar floors and apron areas
  • Food and beverage processing halls with routine wash-down
  • Wet-process and hose-down zones such as bottling and dairy floors
  • Industrial walkways, gangways and inclined access ramps
  • Loading bays and dispatch areas exposed to spillage
  • Light-to-medium industrial floors needing grip plus chemical resistance

Key advantages

  • Excellent slip resistance from an engineered epoxy texture, retained even when wet or oily
  • Liquid-tight, seamless film that protects concrete decks from water and process fluids
  • Good abrasion and wear resistance inherited from the Sikafloor-264 HC binder
  • Good chemical resistance to oils, fuels and dilute acids typical of car parks and plants
  • Single-chemistry system, so primer and texture coat bond as one monolithic layer
  • Available in RAL colours for zoning, wayfinding and hazard marking
  • Easy to clean and maintain compared with broadcast aggregate systems
  • Fast, roller-applied build that keeps site downtime low

Limitations & considerations

  • Thin-film system at 0.5 mm minimum, so it is not a substitute for heavy-duty PU screeds under severe impact or thermal shock
  • Requires sound concrete of at least 25 N/mm2 compressive and 1.5 N/mm2 pull-off strength before it can be applied
  • Substrate moisture must be 4 percent by mass or lower, which rules out green or rising-damp slabs without a moisture barrier
  • As an epoxy, it can chalk, gloss-change or yellow under prolonged UV exposure and is best kept to covered or interior decks
  • Application needs ambient and substrate temperature between 8 and 35 degrees C and humidity controlled, limiting monsoon or peak-summer windows
  • The textured profile traps more soiling than a smooth floor, so heavily fouled areas need disciplined cleaning

Selection & best practice

Success starts with the concrete, not the coating. Mechanically prepare the slab by captive-shot blasting or diamond grinding to an open, laitance-free profile, then confirm compressive strength of at least 25 N/mm2 and pull-off strength of at least 1.5 N/mm2. Check substrate moisture with a Tramex-type meter and proceed only at 4 percent by mass or below; on slabs at risk of rising damp, install a Sika epoxy moisture-tolerant primer or barrier first. Prime with Sikafloor-264 HC at 0.35 to 0.50 kg/m2, working it into the pores and filling blowholes so the texture coat sits on a sealed base. For the texture coat, blend Sikafloor-264 HC with about 2 percent Sika Extender T and apply at roughly 0.50 kg/m2, using a consistent roller technique to keep the anti-skid profile even. Respect the 25-minute pot life at 20 degrees C, mix only what the crew can lay, and keep ambient and substrate temperature between 8 and 35 degrees C with humidity controlled. Protect the fresh floor from traffic until fully cured, and always follow the current Sika System and Product Data Sheets for the project.

Frequently asked questions

What makes Sikafloor MultiDur ET-05 AP slip-resistant?
The texture coat is blended with Sika Extender T, a thixotropic agent that holds a raised, stippled profile as it is rolled. When the epoxy cures, that micro-texture is locked in permanently, giving grip in wet and oily conditions without loose aggregate that can wear away.
How thick is the finished system?
It is a thin-film textured system with a minimum build of 0.5 mm, made up of a Sikafloor-264 HC primer at 0.35 to 0.50 kg/m2 and a texture coat at around 0.50 kg/m2. It is not a high-build screed, so it suits grip-and-seal duty rather than heavy impact zones.
Can it be used on a car park ramp?
Yes. Ramps and turning circles are a core use because that is where slip risk is highest. The anti-skid profile keeps tyres and pedestrians secure, while the liquid-tight film protects the deck from water and oil ingress.
What condition does the concrete need to be in?
The slab must be mechanically prepared, sound, and have at least 25 N/mm2 compressive strength and 1.5 N/mm2 pull-off strength. Moisture must be 4 percent by mass or lower; damp or green slabs need a moisture barrier first.
Is it suitable for outdoor, uncovered decks?
It is an epoxy, so prolonged direct UV can cause chalking or colour change. It performs best on covered or interior decks. For fully exposed areas, a UV-stable polyurethane top-seal or an alternative system should be discussed.
Does Space Arc supply and apply it in Delhi NCR?
Yes. Space Arc Engineering is an authorised Sika distributor and applicator and handles ET-05 AP as a complete package, from specification and surface preparation to primer and texture coat application, across Delhi NCR and pan-India.

How we position Sika Sikafloor MultiDur ET-05 AP

Within the Sika range, ET-05 AP sits at the textured, slip-resistant end of the MultiDur family, built on the same Sikafloor-264 HC binder used for smooth self-smoothing floors. Where a glossy, easy-clean finish is preferred over grip, a smooth Sikafloor-264 HC coating is the natural sibling; where wet-area chemical loads or thermal shock exceed what a thin epoxy handles, a Sikafloor PU cementitious system such as the Sika Purcem range is the step up. From our wider portfolio, projects that combine parking decks with expansion joints or crack repair pair ET-05 AP with Sika joint sealants and Sikadur epoxy repair mortars. For contractors who prefer a Fosroc specification on the same duty, a genuine counterpart exists in the Nitoflor range.
