MC-Bauchemie Nafufill GSE
MC-Bauchemie’s single-component fine repair mortar for smooth, durable concrete patching — from honeycombs to overhead soffits.
What is it?
Nafufill GSE is a ready-to-use, polymer-modified hydraulic cement mortar for fine-to-medium concrete surface repair, hand-applied by trowel or float in layers of 6 to 50 mm.
Where is it used?
RCC columns, beams and slabs, parking-structure soffits, basements, industrial sheds, precast elements and any exposed concrete surface needing cosmetic-to-structural patching before painting, coating or waterproofing.
Why use it?
It bonds hard to sound concrete, builds strength fast (10 N/mm² inside 24 hours, 30 N/mm² by 28 days per its own ASTM C109 data), and its fine, approx. 1.18 mm grain leaves a smooth, coatable finish instead of a gritty patch.
How is it applied?
Mix 100 parts powder with 13-14 parts water (roughly 3.9-4.2 litres per 30 kg bag) to a lump-free consistency, then trowel or float it fresh-on-fresh over a Nafufill KMH bonding coat brushed into the pre-wetted substrate.
About MC-Bauchemie Nafufill GSE
Nafufill GSE sits in MC-Bauchemie’s Nafufill concrete-repair family as the fine-finish specialist — the product a site team reaches for once the coarse structural build-up is done and what’s left is honeycombing, blowholes, arris damage or a few millimetres of cover concrete that need making good before the surface goes under paint, texture, waterproofing or a protective coating. It is a single-component, polymer-modified hydraulic mortar: no second component to proportion, no site-mixed additive to get wrong, just powder and water. MC-Bauchemie sells it in India (formerly marketed under the Zentrifix GSE name, same formulation) through its Navi Mumbai office, with the current technical data sheet dated June 2023.
On a typical Delhi NCR job — a basement parking deck, an industrial shed column, a water-tank wall — Nafufill GSE gets specified because it does one job cleanly: give a sound, closed, level concrete surface that the next material can actually adhere to. It is not really a standalone repair system, though. MC-Bauchemie’s own application method makes the Nafufill KMH bonding coat mandatory, brushed in wet-on-wet before the GSE goes on. Space Arc supplies it alongside KMH and the coarser Nafufill KM series, so a repair scope that mixes structural build-up with cosmetic finishing can be executed from one cementitious family instead of mixing brands mid-repair.
The technical insight
The number worth reading twice on this datasheet is the maximum grain size — approximately 1.18 mm, tested to IS 2386 Part I — which is what separates GSE from MC-Bauchemie’s coarser Nafufill KM range. A fine top-size aggregate gives a smoother trowel finish and better feather-edging, but it also means GSE isn’t meant to carry thick structural sections; the 6-50 mm thickness band, with two passes required past 25 mm, reflects that limit. The roughly 20-minute pot life and 160-180 mm flow (per EN 13395-1) point to a stiff-but-workable mortar built for controlled trowel work rather than pumping or large-area screeding — batch small and move fast, especially through a Delhi summer.
Where it is used
- Cosmetic and surface-defect repair of RCC columns, beams and slabs after formwork removal
- Filling honeycombed concrete and blowholes before a protective coating or waterproofing membrane
- Patch repair of spalled cover concrete following corrosion treatment and rebar passivation
- Overhead soffit and wall repair in basements and multi-level parking structures
- Fairing coat / surface levelling ahead of epoxy or PU floor coating systems
- Repair of arris and edge damage on beams, kerbs and precast elements
- Touch-up repair of surface blemishes on architectural exposed concrete
- Pre-repair surface preparation on water-retaining structure walls before a protective lining
Key advantages
- Single-component — just add water, removing a common site batching error
- Documented early strength (10 N/mm² at 24 hours) that lets follow-on trades move fast
- Fine, approx. 1.18 mm grain gives a smooth, near-paintable finish without heavy sanding
- Stable, non-sagging consistency suited to vertical and overhead work
- Manufacturer’s own ASTM C109 strength curve gives site QA something concrete to sign off against
- Standard 30 kg bag and 6-month shelf life keep site logistics simple
- Backed by MC-Bauchemie’s own bonding-coat system (KMH) rather than a generic primer guess
Limitations & considerations
- Fine repair mortar only — not intended for deep structural sections; use the Nafufill KM range beyond a shallow patch depth
- Effectively a two-product system in practice, since Nafufill KMH bonding coat is specified as mandatory, not optional
- Minimum +8°C application temperature rules out early-morning winter work in North India without warming measures
- Roughly 20-minute pot life demands small batches and a disciplined trowel crew, especially in summer
- Like any cementitious repair mortar, it needs proper curing protection from sun and wind or surface cracking can occur
Selection & best practice
Confirm substrate pull-off strength exceeds 1.5 N/mm² before starting, and expose sound aggregate by mechanical preparation rather than relying on a smooth-cut surface. Pre-wet the substrate, brush Nafufill KMH bonding coat in, and apply Nafufill GSE fresh-on-fresh while the bond coat is still tacky — never onto a dried KMH film. Keep batches to what one crew can place inside the roughly 20-minute pot life, and beyond 25 mm depth, build up in two passes rather than one thick lift. Shade and mist-cure the finished patch for the first 24 hours in hot or windy weather.

How we position MC-Bauchemie Nafufill GSE
Within MC-Bauchemie’s own Nafufill range, GSE is the fine-finish partner to the coarser Nafufill KM 220/230/250 structural repair mortars and Nafufill LM, and it should always be paired with the Nafufill KMH bonding coat rather than substituted with a generic primer. Outside the MC-Bauchemie stable, the closest genuine equivalent most Indian specifiers will recognise is Fosroc’s Renderoc FC, a similarly fine, single-component fairing mortar for the same cosmetic-repair niche — a reasonable alternative where a project’s approved-vendor list already runs on Fosroc.
Fosroc Renderoc FC — Choose Renderoc FC over Nafufill GSE mainly when the project’s approved-vendor list is already built around Fosroc systems, or when it needs to sit alongside other Renderoc-brand structural repair works on the same job.
