MC-Bauchemie MC-Injekt 2700 L IN
A rigid, force-transmitting PU resin that seals cracks, stops pressurised water and puts structural continuity back into concrete.
What is it?
A two-component, low-viscosity polyurethane injection resin that reacts into a rigid, water-proof, load-bearing resin body inside cracks, joints and voids.
Where is it used?
Structural cracks, cold joints and cavities in concrete, masonry and rock — basements, tunnels, dams, retaining walls, sheet piling, diaphragm walls and drinking-water structures.
Why use it?
It restores force transmission across a crack rather than just sealing it flexibly, while displacing and stopping active water, including under hydrostatic pressure.
How is it applied?
Metered 1:1 by volume through injection packers or lances using a two-component injection pump (a single-component pump if no additives are used), with reactivity tuned on site via MC-KAT 27 accelerator or MC-Additive ST thixotropic agent.
About MC-Bauchemie MC-Injekt 2700 L IN
MC-Injekt 2700 L IN is MC-Bauchemie’s rigid, structural grade in the MC-Injekt polyurethane range — positioned specifically for jobs where the resin has to carry load, not just keep water out. It is a two-component, low-viscosity PU duromer: component A and B are metered 1:1 by volume and mixed in the head of an injection pump, where they cure into a hard, closed, water-proof resin body bonded into the crack or void. Unlike the flexible elastomeric grades in the same family, built for cracks that keep moving, 2700 L IN is meant for cracks and voids that are effectively dormant or where the priority is structural reinstatement — hairline shrinkage cracks in RCC, cold joints, honeycombed concrete, and fissured rock.
The “IN” in the name marks it as the India-formulated, India-packaged version of the resin, manufactured and distributed locally by Murasit Bauchemie (Goa) Pvt Ltd out of Kundaim Industrial Estate, so specifiers aren’t dependent on an import cycle for a material that’s often needed on short notice during monsoon leak season. In practice it shows up on basement and lift-pit dewatering jobs, metro and road-tunnel segment joints, dam and canal retaining walls, and water-retaining structures like STPs, WTPs and reservoirs, where the drinking-water hygiene compliance built into the resin actually matters. Reactivity isn’t fixed either — MC-KAT 27 and MC-Additive ST let the applicator dial the same base resin toward a faster set or better vertical and overhead hold, depending on what the packer schedule demands.
The technical insight
The number worth pausing on in this data sheet is the >60 MPa compressive strength paired with ~40 MPa flexural strength (both to DIN EN 196 T1) — that is a genuinely structural resin, not a sealant marketed as one. Combined with the 1.13 kg/dm³ density and 250 ± 50 mPa·s viscosity at 25°C, it explains why MC calls this a “force-transmitting” resin: once cured, it is stiff enough to help re-establish a load path across a crack rather than simply plugging it. The other engineered behaviour is the controlled foaming — on contact with water the resin expands 2 to 15 times depending on counter-pressure and additive dosage, which is what lets a single low-viscosity injection arrest an active, pressurised leak instead of only filling a dry void.
Where it is used
- Sealing and structurally reinforcing cracks in concrete elements — walls, slabs, dams, retaining structures
- Consolidating and sealing fissures in loose or mountain rock during tunnelling and rock-support work
- Sealing sheet piling and diaphragm walls above and below the water table
- Stopping leakage in drinking-water structures, reservoirs and pipe sockets
- Solidifying loose or fissured subsoil ahead of or during foundation work
- Arresting pressurised, actively flowing water ingress in basements, lift pits and shafts
- Sealing construction joints and honeycombed concrete
- Segment-joint sealing in metro, road-tunnel and underground utility structures
Key advantages
- >60 MPa compressive and ~40 MPa flexural strength — genuinely restores structural continuity, not just a seal
- Roughly 45-minute working time at 25°C gives crews room to complete multi-packer injection sequences without rushing
- Reactivity is field-adjustable — MC-KAT 27 speeds the set, MC-Additive ST adds thixotropy for vertical or overhead injection
- Water-displacing, foaming chemistry stops active, pressurised leaks, not just damp hairline cracks
- Low 250 ± 50 mPa·s viscosity gets into fine cracks a thicker resin cannot reach
- Simple 1:1 volumetric mixing ratio suits standard two-component injection pumps
- Meets drinking-water hygiene requirements, so the same resin can serve potable-water structures
- Manufactured and stocked in India (Goa) with an 18-month shelf life — no dependence on a slow import cycle
Limitations & considerations
- It is a rigid resin — not the right choice for live, moving cracks, where MC’s own flexible grades are the correct spec
- Needs a calibrated two-component injection pump and a trained crew; it is not a hand-mix patch material
- Application is bracketed to +5°C to +45°C air, substrate and material temperature, so cold winter mornings in North India need checking first
- Cures to a plain industrial brown with no cosmetic finish, so exposed faces need a separate surface treatment
- Pot life is generous but finite — pumps must be flushed with MC-Thinner PU well before it lapses, or cleanup becomes purely mechanical
- Sold in 20-litre professional canisters per component, which is not sized for small, one-off patch repairs
Selection & best practice
Start with an injectivity check of the structure or subsoil and put an actual injection concept on paper — packer spacing and setting depth should follow from that, not from guesswork on site. Use packers or lances with an internal diameter above 4 mm, and match pump capacity to the job, using a two-component pump for standard work or a single-component pump only when no accelerator or thixotropic additive is being dosed. Keep substrate, material and air temperature inside +5°C to +45°C through the whole injection, and track elapsed time against the roughly 45-minute pot life at 25°C — flush the pump thoroughly with MC-Thinner PU well before that mark if there’s any interruption, since partially or fully cured resin can only be removed mechanically. Never use water or a water-based agent to clean equipment.

How we position MC-Bauchemie MC-Injekt 2700 L IN
Within MC-Bauchemie’s own range, 2700 L IN sits alongside the flexible MC-Injekt 2133 Flex for moving cracks, the rock-consolidation-focused MC-Injekt GL-95 TX line, and the cartridge-based MC-Fastpack 2700 for smaller, faster jobs — Space Arc can spec across that whole family from one supply chain. Where a project has already standardised on Fosroc, or specifically wants a resin built around water-reactive rigid foaming for active, pressurised leak-stopping and ground consolidation, Fosroc’s Nitofill PU23 is the genuine equivalent worth comparing line-for-line before the spec is locked.
Fosroc Nitofill PU23 — Choose Nitofill PU23 instead when a project has already standardised on Fosroc, or specifically wants a water-reactive rigid foaming resin marketed around active, pressurised leak-stopping and ground consolidation.
