What is it?

A two-part, solvent-based polyurethane floor coating and sealer that cures to a clear, semi-gloss flexible film on cementitious surfaces.

Where is it used?

Warehouses, garages, indoor car parks and light-industrial floors where a clear, dust-proof, easy-clean concrete surface is needed without changing the floor’s appearance.

Why use it?

It penetrates and binds surface particles to stop concrete dusting, improves abrasion and scratch resistance, and gives an impermeable surface that resists oils and liquids and is far easier to clean.

How is it applied?

Both components are mixed on site and brushed or rollered onto a clean, dry, etched substrate – normally two coats (three to four on screeds), with 1-2 hours between coats and no more than 24 hours.

About Fosroc Nitoflor FC110

Fosroc Nitoflor FC110 is a clear, two-part polyurethane floor coating and sealer engineered to solve one of the most common problems on bare concrete floors – surface dusting. On warehouse aprons, garage bays, indoor car parks and light-industrial shop floors, the cement matrix at the surface continually abrades into a fine powder that contaminates stock, settles on machinery and never quite sweeps away. Nitoflor FC110 is designed specifically to stop this. When the two components are mixed and applied, the polyurethane penetrates into the pores of the slab, binds the loose surface particles together and cures to a semi-gloss, flexible, impermeable film with excellent adhesion to cementitious substrates.

Unlike a pigmented screed or a heavy-build epoxy system, FC110 is a thin clear seal that keeps the natural look of the concrete while delivering a hardwearing, easy-to-clean working surface. The cured film resists the penetration of oils and common liquids, so spills wipe up instead of soaking in and staining, and the improved abrasion and scratch resistance extends the service life of the floor surface under foot and light wheeled traffic.

For Indian contractors, consultants and facility owners, FC110 occupies a clear, well-understood niche: it is the economical, fast brush-applied sealer you specify when the brief is “stop the dust and make it cleanable” rather than “build a chemical-resistant high-build floor”. It is laid in two coats on dense concrete (three to four on more porous sand/cement screeds), needs no specialist equipment, and is back in light foot traffic within about a day. Space Arc Engineering supplies Nitoflor FC110 as an authorised Fosroc distributor and applicator across Delhi NCR and Pan-India, with batch-traceable material and on-site application support.

The technical insight

The point most often missed on FC110 specifications is that it is a genuinely two-part (Component A + Component B), chemically curing polyurethane that must be mixed on site – not a ready-to-use single-pack sealer. Once both parts are combined the clock starts: pot life is roughly 60 minutes at 30°C, so material should be batched to what the crew can lay within the hour and not left standing in the bucket. Because it is solvent-borne and chemically curing, FC110 is flammable and demands good ventilation, no naked flames and no smoking during application. The film is intentionally thin and penetrating – its job is to seal and bind, not to build thickness – which is why coverage and dust-proofing depend heavily on how well the substrate was prepared and etched rather than on heavy application.

Where it is used

  • Clear dust-proof sealing of bare concrete warehouse and storage floors
  • Garage, workshop and service-bay floors needing oil and liquid resistance
  • Indoor car park decks and basement parking floors
  • Light-industrial production and assembly shop floors
  • Sand/cement screed floors that require sealing against dusting (3-4 coats)
  • Areas where the natural concrete look must be retained while improving cleanability

Key advantages

  • Stops concrete dusting by sealing and binding the surface particles
  • Clear, semi-gloss finish that preserves the natural appearance of the floor
  • Good abrasion resistance and improved scratch resistance, extending floor life
  • Impermeable film that resists penetration of oils and liquids and is easy to clean
  • Simple, low-equipment application by soft brush or roller – no specialist plant needed
  • Excellent adhesion to cementitious substrates with a flexible cured film
  • Fast turnaround – tack free in about 1 hour and light foot traffic in 24 hours at 30°C
  • Economical clear sealer compared with high-build epoxy or PU flooring systems

Limitations & considerations

  • Cannot be applied below 15°C or above 40°C
  • Not recommended for surfaces directly exposed to sunlight (UV) – better suited to indoor floors
  • Not suitable over substrates treated with plaster of paris
  • Two-part product with a limited ~60-minute pot life at 30°C – must be mixed and used promptly
  • Solvent-based and flammable – requires ventilation and strict no-flame/no-smoking control
  • A thin sealing coat, not a high-build or heavy-duty chemical-resistant floor topping
  • Performance and coverage depend strongly on proper surface preparation and etching

Selection & best practice

Get the substrate right first: the concrete must be fully cured, clean, dry and free of all contamination, with surface laitance removed by etching using Fosroc Reebaklens, then thoroughly washed and allowed to dry completely before coating. Mix Component A and Component B fully using a paddle on a slow-speed drill, and only batch what the crew can apply within the 60-minute pot life. Apply with a soft brush or roller to an even film, allow a minimum of 1-2 hours between coats, and crucially do not exceed 24 hours between coats so each layer keys properly to the last. Use two coats on dense concrete and three to four on porous sand/cement screeds. Keep the floor temperature within 15-40°C, ensure good ventilation, and protect from foot traffic for 24 hours and from heavy use until the 7-day full cure is reached.

Frequently asked questions

Is Fosroc Nitoflor FC110 a single-pack or two-part product?
It is a two-part polyurethane system supplied as Component A and Component B that are mixed on site immediately before use. Once mixed, the material has a pot life of about 60 minutes at 30°C, so only batch what your crew can apply within the hour.
How much area does one litre of Nitoflor FC110 cover?
For estimating, allow about 6 m² per litre per coat. The first coat on bare concrete can vary considerably with surface texture and porosity, while second and subsequent coats show improved coverage. Plan for two coats on concrete and three to four on more porous screeds.
How long before the floor can be used after applying FC110?
At 30°C it is tack free in about 1 hour and open to light foot traffic after 24 hours. Full cure is reached in 7 days, so hold back heavier or wheeled traffic until then for best durability.
Can Nitoflor FC110 be used outdoors or in direct sunlight?
No. It is not recommended for surfaces directly exposed to sunlight, as polyurethane clear seals are prone to UV effects. It is intended for indoor floors such as warehouses, garages, indoor car parks and light industry. For external or UV-exposed decks, consider a UV-stable system instead.
What surface preparation does FC110 need?
The concrete must be clean, dry and free of contamination. Sweep away loose material and remove surface laitance by etching with Fosroc Reebaklens, then wash thoroughly and let the floor dry completely. Good preparation is the single biggest factor in dust-proofing performance and coverage. It must not be applied over plaster-of-paris-treated substrates.
What temperature range is required for application?
Apply only between 15°C and 40°C. Below 15°C or above 40°C the product should not be applied. In Indian summer conditions, schedule application for cooler parts of the day and ensure good ventilation, since the material is solvent-based and flammable.

How we position Fosroc Nitoflor FC110

Nitoflor FC110 sits at the entry point of Fosroc’s industrial flooring range as a clear, brush-applied PU sealer – the right specification when the goal is to dust-proof concrete and make it cleanable rather than to build a thick, chemically resistant floor. Within the Fosroc family, step up to Nitoflor FC130 (epoxy floor coating) when you need stronger chemical resistance and a coloured high-build finish, to Nitoflor FC150 for a slip-resistant epoxy surface, or to Nitoflor Hardtop / Nitoflor Lithurin where the requirement is a hardened, abrasion-resistant wearing surface in the slab itself; pair preparation with Reebaklens for etching. Against the wider Indian market, comparable clear or low-build floor sealers and dust-proofers are offered by Sika (Sikafloor sealers/curing seals), MYK Laticrete / MBS, Dr. Fixit (Pidilite) and STP Limited – any of which a consultant may list as an approved equivalent. FC110’s edge is its simplicity, fast turnaround and Fosroc’s nationwide technical backup; it is, however, an indoor, non-UV, thin-film product, so for sun-exposed decks or aggressive chemical duty a heavier epoxy or UV-stable PU from these ranges is the more appropriate choice. Space Arc Engineering supplies and applies FC110 and these related Fosroc systems across Delhi NCR and Pan-India, and can advise on the correct product for a given duty and substrate.
