Fosroc Nitoflor Leveltop GP
A single-pack, water-mixed, polymer-modified cementitious self-levelling compound that fairs and smooths uneven concrete floors to a feather edge — ready for tiles, vinyl, carpet or resin finishes without a traditional screed.
What is it?
A factory-blended, single-pack grey powder of selected cements, graded aggregates, polymers and set-control additives that needs only clean water on site to form a free-flowing, self-smoothing floor levelling compound.
Where is it used?
Interior concrete floors in warehouses, factories, showrooms, retail, commercial and institutional buildings across India where an uneven slab must be levelled before laying tiles, vinyl, carpet, epoxy or PU finishes.
Why use it?
It eliminates labour-intensive sand-cement screeding, hardens fast for quick return to service, and leaves a flat, true plane that the chosen floor finish can bond to reliably.
How is it applied?
The prepared slab is primed with Nitoprime 33, the powder is mixed with water to a creamy consistency, poured, spread and spike-rolled to release air and self-level to the required thickness.
About Fosroc Nitoflor Leveltop GP
Fosroc Nitoflor Leveltop GP is a general-purpose, self-levelling floor underlayment from the Fosroc Nitoflor industrial flooring range. It is supplied as a dry grey powder — a precision blend of selected cements, graded aggregates, polymers and flow/set-control additives — that requires only the addition of clean water on site to produce a smooth, free-flowing material that can be laid right down to a feather edge. The purpose of the product is straightforward but valuable on real projects: very few concrete slabs come out of the formwork flat enough to receive a thin finish such as vinyl, carpet tile, homogeneous tile or a decorative resin coat. Leveltop GP is the fairing layer that corrects falls, hollows, trowel ridges and surface undulation, giving the contractor a true, level plane to build on. Because it is a one-pack product, there is no on-site batching of sand, cement and additives — every bag mixes consistently with water, which removes a common source of variability and weak spots on Indian sites where screeds are often hand-batched. It can be applied directly onto in-situ or precast concrete, hardens and cures rapidly so foot traffic and over-laying can resume quickly, and is formulated to remain workable at the high ambient temperatures (up to around 35°C) routinely seen across Delhi NCR and the rest of the country. For contractors, consultants and procurement teams it sits in the practical middle ground between a structural topping and a thin skim: thick enough to bury real unevenness, thin enough to feather out to nothing at doorways and existing levels.
The technical insight
The product is a cementitious, polymer-modified self-levelling compound (SLC) rather than an epoxy or PU system — the polymers improve flow, adhesion and flexibility while the cement matrix provides the strength and dimensional stability. In the Fosroc Cemtop/Leveltop self-levelling family, the published datasheet figures are a theoretical coverage of about 1.7 kg of powder per mm of thickness per square metre, a water demand of roughly 4.25–4.75 litres per 25 kg bag, an application thickness band of about 5 to 50 mm (feathering thinner at edges), 28-day compressive strength of around 25 N/mm² and flexural strength of around 5 N/mm² to EN 13813/EN 13892 classification (C25F5), with light/full traffic typically returning within about a day at 20°C and foot traffic in hours. The single most important technical discipline is priming: the slab must be sealed — Fosroc specifies Nitoprime 33 in two diluted coats (typically 1:5 then 1:3 with water) — to stop air rising out of the concrete and blowing pinholes through the levelling layer, and to prevent the dry substrate sucking water out of the mix too fast. Substrate moisture and age also matter: new slabs should be well cured (of the order of three weeks) and below about 5% moisture, free of laitance, oil, curing-compound residue and dust. Because regional Fosroc datasheets differ in exact figures, the values quoted here reflect the official Fosroc self-levelling-compound TDS for this product class and should be confirmed against the current India TDS for a given batch and specification.
Where it is used
- Levelling uneven in-situ or precast concrete floors before laying ceramic, vitrified or homogeneous tiles
- Creating a smooth, true underlayment ahead of vinyl, LVT, linoleum, rubber or carpet-tile finishes
- Fairing out trowel ridges, hollows and surface undulation in warehouse and factory slabs
- Preparing concrete substrates to receive Fosroc Nitoflor epoxy or PU resin floor coatings
- Refurbishment of worn or out-of-level existing concrete floors in retail, showroom and commercial fit-outs
- Feather-edging at doorways, thresholds and changes of level where a thin transition is needed
- Smoothing institutional and healthcare floors prior to seamless hygienic finishes
Key advantages
- Single-pack, mix-with-water-only formulation removes on-site batching errors and ensures consistent strength
- Self-levelling, free-flowing rheology produces a flat true plane with minimal trowelling effort
- Can be laid to a feather edge, ideal for transitions and thin correction layers
- Rapid hardening allows fast return to foot traffic and quick over-laying with finishes
- Eliminates the need for slow, labour-heavy traditional sand-cement screeds
- Good adhesion to correctly prepared concrete substrates
- Formulated to remain workable in hot Indian ambient conditions up to about 35°C
- Compatible with Fosroc primers and Nitoflor resin overcoats as part of a warranted system
Limitations & considerations
- Interior use only — not formulated for permanently wet, external or freeze-thaw exposed areas
- Performance depends heavily on correct priming with Nitoprime 33; skipping the primer risks pinholing and debonding
- Substrate must be sound, cured (typically 21+ days), low-moisture (around 5% or less) and free of laitance, oil and curing compounds
- It is a levelling/wearing underlayment, not a heavy-duty industrial topping — for high abrasion/forklift duty a system such as Cemtop XD or a resin screed is more appropriate
- Limited working/placing time once mixed; material that has stiffened must be discarded, not re-tempered with water
- Requires protection from freezing for the first 48 hours and care in very high temperatures (refer to Fosroc above ~25–35°C)
- Exact thickness, coverage and strength figures vary by regional datasheet and must be confirmed against the current India TDS
Selection & best practice
Treat priming and substrate prep as non-negotiable. Mechanically prepare the slab to remove laitance, dust and contaminants, confirm it is cured and dry, then apply Nitoprime 33 in the specified diluted coats and let each dry — this seals the pores and stops air blowing pinholes through the levelling layer. Mix each bag with the correct, consistent water dose (around 4.25–4.75 litres per 25 kg) using a heavy-duty drill and paddle to a smooth creamy consistency, place within a couple of minutes, and spike-roll to release entrained air without over-rolling. Pour adjacent batches in quick succession to avoid cold-joint seam lines, work to set datum pins or a laser for true level, and protect the fresh floor from draughts, direct sun and freezing while it cures. Always verify the exact thickness range, coverage and overcoating window against the current Fosroc India datasheet for the specific application and finish.

How we position Fosroc Nitoflor Leveltop GP
Within the Fosroc Nitoflor flooring range, Leveltop GP is the general-purpose levelling/underlayment grade — the preparatory layer that sits beneath finishes rather than a wearing topping in its own right. It is closely related to Fosroc’s Cemtop GP (the international name for the same general-purpose self-levelling compound) and steps up to the heavy-duty, highly abrasion-resistant Cemtop XD where forklift and industrial wear demand it. On the same Fosroc system it pairs with Nitoprime 33 as primer and is typically overcoated with finishes or Nitoflor resin coatings such as FC130/FC140; for thicker rebuild or sloping work, Fosroc’s Nitoflor Levelcrete and Renderoc/Lokfix-class repair mortars cover the heavier end. Against the wider Indian market, credible alternatives a specifier might evaluate include Sika’s Level/SikaFloor self-levelling underlayments, MYK Laticrete and MBCC/MBS (Master Builders Solutions) MasterTop levelling compounds, Dr. Fixit’s flooring and underlayment products, and STP/Pidilite cementitious self-levellers; the right choice depends on required thickness, strength class, the finish to be applied and the warranted system the project wants to stand behind. As an authorised Fosroc distributor and applicator serving Delhi NCR and Pan-India, Space Arc Engineering can confirm the current India datasheet figures, recommend the correct primer-and-overcoat build-up for your finish, and supply Leveltop GP alongside the rest of the Nitoflor system. Note that Fosroc’s public Leveltop GP page publishes only descriptive data; the quantitative specs here reflect the official Fosroc self-levelling-compound TDS for this product class and should be verified against the latest regional datasheet before specification.
