Fosroc Nitoflor Deco
A two-component decorative cementitious coating that gives concrete, screed and tiled surfaces a seamless, coloured architectural finish — bonding to multiple substrates without a separate primer.
What is it?
Nitoflor Deco is a Fosroc two-component, polymer-modified cementitious decorative coating applied at up to about 2 mm thickness to give floors and walls a seamless, pigmented architectural finish.
Where is it used?
Interior floors and walls in retail, showrooms, hospitality, offices and homes, plus a waterproof variant suited to pools, fountains and wet decorative areas — over concrete, screed, mortar render and tiled substrates.
Why use it?
It delivers a continuous, jointless decorative surface in a wide colour range, bonds well to varied substrates without a separate primer, and cures fast enough to allow quick return to service.
How is it applied?
The powder and liquid components are blended to a workable consistency and trowel- or roller-applied over a prepared, sound substrate in one or more passes up to the maximum film build, then sealed as specified.
About Fosroc Nitoflor Deco
Fosroc Nitoflor Deco sits in the decorative end of the Nitoflor industrial and architectural flooring family, alongside heavier-duty epoxy and polyurethane systems such as Nitoflor FC130 and the PU-cement Nitoflor SL ranges. Where those products are chosen primarily for chemical and abrasion resistance in factories and warehouses, Nitoflor Deco is positioned for surfaces where appearance matters as much as durability — showrooms, cafes, retail outlets, lobbies, residential interiors and feature walls.
Technically, it is a two-component cementitious coating: a pre-blended, pigmented powder component combined on site with a polymer liquid component. The polymer modification is what separates it from an ordinary sand-cement render — it improves adhesion, flexibility and water resistance, so the finished coating behaves as a thin, durable decorative skin rather than a brittle plaster. Fosroc supplies it in a range of colours, and a waterproof formulation extends its use into permanently or intermittently wet decorative settings such as swimming pools and water features.
For Indian projects, Nitoflor Deco is best understood as a microcement-style architectural finish from a trusted construction-chemicals brand. It is applied thin — typically up to around 2 mm — so it adds minimal height and can often be laid over existing sound tiles or screeds during refurbishment without demolition. That makes it attractive for fast fit-outs and renovations where downtime and dust must be kept low. As an authorised Fosroc distributor and applicator, Space Arc Engineering supplies the material and provides trained application crews across Delhi NCR and Pan-India, which matters because the look and performance of a thin decorative coating depend heavily on substrate preparation and applicator skill.
The technical insight
The defining characteristic of Nitoflor Deco is that it is a thin-film, polymer-modified cementitious system rather than a thick screed or a 100% resin coating. At a working thickness of up to roughly 2 mm and a coverage in the region of 2.0 kg per square metre per millimetre of thickness, the finished layer is a decorative skin, not a structural topping. This has two practical consequences. First, the substrate beneath it does the structural work — Nitoflor Deco will faithfully reflect the soundness, flatness and crack behaviour of whatever it is laid over, so substrate assessment and repair come before any colour decision. Second, because it is cement-based, it remains breathable and dimensionally compatible with concrete and mortar substrates in a way that thick epoxy films are not, reducing the risk of blistering from residual substrate moisture. The polymer component supplies the adhesion and water resistance that allow Fosroc to state that no separate primer is needed on suitable substrates and to offer a waterproof variant for pool and fountain work. The trade-off is that it is not a chemical-resistant industrial topping: its job is appearance and everyday wear in foot-traffic areas, after which a compatible sealer or protective coat governs final stain and abrasion resistance.

Key advantages
- Two-component polymer-modified cementitious system giving a durable yet breathable decorative skin
- Seamless, jointless coloured finish available in a wide range of colours
- Applied thin (up to about 2 mm), adding minimal floor height — ideal for refurbishment
- Bonds to multiple substrates — concrete, screed, mortar render and ceramic tiles
- No separate primer required on suitable, prepared substrates, simplifying the build-up
- Waterproof variant extends use to pools, fountains and wet decorative areas
- Cement-based chemistry is more tolerant of residual substrate moisture than thick epoxy films
- Fast commissioning relative to thicker toppings, reducing project downtime
- Backed by Fosroc technical support and supplied/applied by authorised partner Space Arc Engineering
Limitations & considerations
- Decorative and light-to-moderate-duty — not a chemical-resistant industrial topping like epoxy/PU systems
- Thin film faithfully mirrors substrate defects, unevenness and cracking; substrate prep is critical
- Cementitious surface generally needs a compatible sealer/protective coat for stain and wear resistance
- Final appearance (shade uniformity, texture) is highly applicator-dependent — trowel skill matters
- Not intended for heavy forklift traffic, point loads or aggressive chemical/thermal-shock environments
- Colour and finish should be confirmed against current Fosroc samples; published shade ranges can vary by region
- Performance values quoted here should be verified against the current Fosroc TDS for the project specification
Selection & best practice
Treat the substrate as the foundation of the finish. Confirm the base is structurally sound, clean, free of laitance, oil and old coatings, and adequately cured; mechanically prepare (grind or abrade) tiled or smooth surfaces to a sound bonding profile and make good cracks and hollows before any decorative coat. Mix the powder and liquid components in the correct ratio with a slow-speed paddle to a lump-free, workable consistency, only batch what can be applied within the working time, and apply in even passes to the specified film build (typically up to about 2 mm). Maintain consistent mixing, technique and the same operator across a continuous area to keep shade and texture uniform, and protect fresh work from rapid drying, direct sun and foot traffic during cure. Finish with the Fosroc-recommended sealer or protective coat appropriate to the traffic and exposure, and always work to the current product datasheet and a small approved sample area before committing to the full floor.

How we position Fosroc Nitoflor Deco
Nitoflor Deco is Fosroc’s decorative, microcement-style member of the Nitoflor family, and it should be specified for appearance-led interior and wet decorative surfaces rather than aggressive industrial duty. For heavy-traffic, chemical- or abrasion-exposed floors, point the specification instead at Fosroc’s resin systems — Nitoflor FC130 and the FC-series epoxy coatings, or the Nitoflor SL polyurethane-cement self-levelling toppings — while Fosroc floor hardeners such as Nitoflor Hardtop and Nitoflor Lithurin remain the choice for bare power-floated industrial slabs. Among competing decorative and microcement finishes available in India, credible alternatives include Sika’s decorative and SikaFloor microtopping systems, MBCC/Master Builders Solutions (MasterTop) decorative and resin floors, STP and similar specialist coatings, and, at the waterproofing-led end, Dr. Fixit branded systems; for genuinely industrial epoxy/PU flooring the Sika and Master Builders Solutions ranges are the most direct equivalents to Fosroc’s Nitoflor resin products. As an authorised Fosroc distributor and applicator, Space Arc Engineering specifies Nitoflor Deco where clients want a Fosroc-backed, locally supported decorative finish, and openly steers projects to the right Fosroc resin or cementitious system — or a comparable competitor product — when the service conditions demand more than a decorative coating can deliver.
