What is it?

A three-component, solvent-free epoxy resin mortar screed (epoxy base + modified polyamine hardener + graded high-strength silica aggregate) that is trowelled onto a primed concrete or steel floor to form a thick, seamless, heavy-duty topping.

Where is it used?

The heaviest-duty industrial floors — steelworks, heavy engineering and fabrication plants, chemical process and handling areas, oil refineries, battery and plating rooms, breweries, dairies, sugar and food-processing units, and loading bays subject to hard-wheeled and forklift traffic.

Why use it?

It builds a thick (5-10 mm) impervious topping that withstands heavy point loads, severe abrasion and a wide range of chemical spillage while giving a safe non-slip, seamless and easily cleaned surface that outlives bare concrete.

How is it applied?

The cleaned, sound substrate is primed with Nitoprime 30/31 epoxy primer; the pre-weighed TF10000 base, hardener and aggregate are site-mixed and trowel-applied to the required thickness, tamped for compaction and finished to a closed texture, then cured before traffic.

About Fosroc Nitoflor TF10000

Fosroc Nitoflor TF10000 is the heavy-duty member of the Nitoflor trowel-applied epoxy screed range, engineered for floors that take punishment ordinary concrete and thin coatings cannot survive. It is supplied as a three-component system: an epoxy resin base, a modified polyamine hardener, and a specially selected and graded silica aggregate of high crushing strength. The components arrive in pre-weighed units, so the applicator simply mixes the full kit on site and lays it — there is no batching or guesswork on the resin-to-aggregate ratio.

What distinguishes TF10000 from lighter screeds is the build thickness. It is trowel-applied from 5 mm for light-to-medium wear right up to 10 mm for the most aggressive industrial duty, where the extra mass absorbs impact, resists gouging from dragged loads, and bridges minor substrate irregularities. The cured floor is seamless and impervious, eliminating the joints and porous patches where chemicals, water and bacteria normally attack a floor. Because the polyamine curing agent and the inert silica aggregate are both chosen for chemical durability, the topping shrugs off the acids, alkalis, oils, solvents and salt solutions routinely spilled in process plants.

For Indian specifiers, TF10000 sits above products like Nitoflor TF5000 (a 3-6 mm screed) where the duty cycle is more severe and a thicker, tougher wearing course is justified. It is always laid as a system — primer plus screed — and can be over-sealed with a Nitoflor FC-range epoxy coating where a closed, ultra-hygienic or coloured finish is wanted. Space Arc Engineering supplies and applies TF10000 across Delhi NCR and Pan-India as an authorised Fosroc distributor and applicator, with substrate assessment, surface preparation and laying handled by trained crews so the system performs as designed.

The technical insight

The performance of TF10000 comes from three design choices working together. First, the modified polyamine (rather than a standard amine) hardener gives the cured matrix its broad chemical resistance — polyamine-cured epoxies tolerate dilute acids, alkalis, oils and solvents far better than general-purpose systems, which is why the floor survives in plating, battery and refinery environments. Second, the graded high-crushing-strength silica aggregate is what carries the mechanical load: the resin binds and protects, but it is the densely packed quartz that resists abrasion and point loading, giving a screed whose compressive and abrasion performance comfortably exceeds the concrete beneath it. Third, the system is solvent-free and trowel-compacted, so there is no solvent flash-off porosity and no shrinkage voids — the topping is genuinely impervious. The practical consequence for a contractor is that everything depends on the bond to the substrate and on compaction. The substrate must be sound, dry and mechanically prepared (grit-blasting or scabbling, not just acid etch) and primed with Nitoprime 30/31 while still tacky; the mortar must be tamped and trowelled to full compaction within its pot life. Get the preparation, priming window and compaction right and the floor is monolithic with the slab; get them wrong and even a premium screed will debond — which is why TF10000 is best treated as an applied system, not just a bagged product.

Where it is used

  • Heavy engineering, fabrication and machine shops with hard-wheeled and forklift traffic
  • Steelworks, foundries and metal-forming areas subject to impact and abrasion
  • Chemical process, handling and storage areas exposed to acid, alkali and solvent spillage
  • Oil refineries, petrochemical units and paint/solvent workshops
  • Battery charging rooms and electroplating factories (acid and electrolyte exposure)
  • Breweries, distilleries, dairies, sugar and food-processing plants needing impervious, washable floors
  • Loading docks, ramps and dispatch bays carrying point loads and trolley traffic
  • Areas of lighter duty where above-average durability and low maintenance justify a thick epoxy screed

Key advantages

  • Extreme durability — withstands heavy loads and high abrasion, outperforming the concrete substrate
  • Broad chemical resistance from the modified polyamine cure across acids, alkalis, oils, solvents and salts
  • Thick 5-10 mm build absorbs impact and bridges minor substrate defects that thin coatings cannot
  • Seamless and impervious, removing joints and porous zones where failure and contamination start
  • Safe non-slip finish for both pedestrian and vehicular traffic
  • Solvent-free and low odour — no harmful solvent vapours during laying, suited to enclosed plants
  • Supplied in pre-weighed units for accurate, repeatable site mixing with no batching errors
  • Can be over-sealed with Nitoflor FC-range coatings for hygienic, coloured or closed finishes

Limitations & considerations

  • Trowel-applied screed requiring skilled applicators — not a DIY or roller-applied product
  • Substrate must be sound, dry (concrete typically 28 days old, moisture below ~5%) and mechanically prepared; acid etching alone is usually inadequate
  • Mandatory priming with Nitoprime 30/31 and application within the primer overlay window
  • Limited working time once mixed — material must be placed and compacted within pot life or be discarded
  • Epoxy resins and hardeners can sensitise skin; gloves, eye protection and ventilation are required
  • Continuous high-temperature exposure is limiting — epoxy screeds soften at sustained elevated temperatures (for thermal-shock or steam-cleaned zones a polyurethane screed may be more suitable)
  • Some strong oxidising acids cause discolouration or are only suited to occasional-spillage areas with good housekeeping
  • Cost and labour are higher than thin-film coatings; justified by duty cycle, not chosen by default

Selection & best practice

Treat TF10000 as a system, not a product. Confirm the slab is at least 28 days old with surface moisture below about 5%, then prepare mechanically by grit-blasting, scabbling or grinding to remove laitance and contamination (steel substrates shot-blasted to Sa 2½ and primed with the appropriate Nitoprime). Prime with Nitoprime 30/31 and lay the screed while the primer is still tacky — within its overlay window — to develop maximum bond. Site-mix the full pre-weighed unit, add the aggregate gradually, and place, tamp and steel-trowel to full compaction within the pot life; never re-temper stiffened material. Use screeding rails to hold a consistent compacted thickness, carry expansion joints in the slab up through the topping, and form coving where wall junctions must be hygienic. Where maximum cleanliness, colour uniformity or extra chemical sealing is needed, over-seal with a Nitoflor FC-range epoxy coating once the screed has cured at least a day. Always work to the current local Fosroc TDS for the exact grade and ambient conditions, and let Space Arc’s applicators handle preparation and laying for a warrantable result.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly is Fosroc Nitoflor TF10000?
It is a three-component, solvent-free epoxy resin mortar screed made of an epoxy base, a modified polyamine hardener and graded high-strength silica aggregate. It is trowel-applied 5-10 mm thick to create a heavy-duty, seamless, chemical- and abrasion-resistant industrial floor topping over primed concrete or steel.
How thick should TF10000 be applied?
Between 5 mm and 10 mm. Around 5 mm suits light-to-medium wear, while the full 10 mm is specified for the heaviest industrial duty — heavy point loads, severe abrasion and aggressive chemical exposure. The applicator selects thickness to match the traffic and chemical regime.
Does it need a primer?
Yes. TF10000 is laid as a system over Nitoprime 30/31, a two-part epoxy resin primer. The screed is applied while the primer is still tacky to develop maximum bond. Skipping or wrongly timing the primer is a common cause of debonding, so it should never be omitted.
How does TF10000 compare with Nitoflor TF5000?
They are from the same trowel-applied epoxy screed family, but TF10000 is the heavier-duty, thicker grade (5-10 mm) for the most severe industrial floors, whereas TF5000 is a 3-6 mm screed for moderately heavy duty. Choose TF10000 when the duty cycle, impact or chemical load justifies a thicker, tougher wearing course.
What chemicals and conditions can it handle?
The polyamine-cured matrix and inert silica aggregate give broad resistance to many acids, alkalis, oils, solvents and salt solutions found in industry. Resistance varies by chemical and concentration, and some strong oxidising acids are only suited to occasional-spillage areas with good housekeeping. Sustained high temperatures are limiting — confirm the exact exposure against the current Fosroc TDS for your grade.
Can Space Arc supply and install TF10000 in Delhi NCR and across India?
Yes. Space Arc Engineering is an authorised Fosroc distributor and applicator covering Delhi NCR and Pan-India. We assess the substrate, carry out mechanical preparation and priming, and lay the screed with trained crews — and can advise whether TF10000, TF5000 or a polyurethane screed best fits your plant before you specify.

How we position Fosroc Nitoflor TF10000

Within the Fosroc range, Nitoflor TF10000 is the top of the trowel-applied epoxy screed ladder: a step up in thickness and duty from Nitoflor TF5000 (3-6 mm), and well above thin-film systems such as the Nitoflor FC-range epoxy coatings (FC130/FC140/FC150) or self-levelling Nitoflor SL grades, which are better suited to lighter wear and decorative or hygienic finishes — and which can be used as a sealer coat over TF10000 itself. It pairs with Nitoprime 30/31 primer as a complete system. Where the real requirement is thermal-shock or steam-clean resistance, a polyurethane (PU) screed is the more appropriate Fosroc choice than this epoxy mortar. Against the wider Indian market, credible alternatives a specifier may evaluate include Sika’s heavy-duty epoxy mortar screeds (Sikafloor range), MYK Arment / MBS and STP (Shalimar/STP) epoxy flooring systems, and, for lighter or repair-oriented duty, Dr. Fixit (Pidilite) floor coatings — though Dr. Fixit’s strength is waterproofing rather than heavy industrial screeds. TF10000’s edge is its proven heavy-duty epoxy-mortar pedigree and the fact that, with Space Arc as authorised distributor and applicator, it is delivered as a prepared-and-laid system rather than a bag of product, which is what ultimately determines floor life.
