Fosroc Concure AB Clear
Water-based clear acrylic curing, sealing and dustproofing compound to ASTM C309 Type 1, Class B for floors, slabs and high-rise concrete.
What is it?
A single-component, water-based acrylic-polymer liquid that forms a clear, non-penetrating film on fresh or newly hardened concrete to lock in mixing water, while also sealing and dustproofing the surface.
Where is it used?
RMC slabs, warehouse and factory floors, columns, beams, pavements and high-rise concrete across Delhi NCR and Pan-India sites where reliable water curing is difficult.
Why use it?
It eliminates ponding and hessian curing, cuts labour and water use, reduces plastic-shrinkage cracking and leaves a clear, overcoatable surface ready for later flooring or paint systems.
How is it applied?
Stirred and spray-applied (knapsack or motorised) in a uniform single coat at roughly 4-6 m2/litre once bleed water has gone; brush or roller is acceptable on hardened concrete.
About Fosroc Concure AB Clear
Fosroc Concure AB Clear is a ready-to-use, single-component curing compound based on an acrylic polymer (acrylic emulsion) system. When sprayed onto a fresh cementitious surface it forms a continuous, non-penetrating film that acts as a barrier to moisture loss, so the cement hydrates more completely and the concrete gains strength, durability and surface hardness with far less reliance on traditional water curing. Because the dried film is clear rather than white, it suits internal floors and finished surfaces where appearance matters, and it doubles as a sealer and dustproofer for floors and walls. The product is eco-friendly in the sense that matters on Indian sites: it is water based and free from solvents, oils, waxes, chlorinated or saponifiable materials, so there is no strong solvent odour and it is non-flammable. It complies with ASTM C309 Type 1, Class B, the internationally recognised standard for liquid membrane-forming curing compounds. For Space Arc Engineering clients, Concure AB Clear is positioned as the practical answer to a chronic problem on Delhi NCR projects: curing water is scarce, plots are congested, and 7-to-14-day ponding of every slab is rarely achievable. A single spray pass on a green slab gives reliable, uniform curing that does not depend on a labourer remembering to wet the surface twice a day. The clear finish and overcoatability also make it a favourite where a slab will later receive an epoxy floor, a tile bed or a paint system, because the same compound that cured the concrete can act as a primer-compatible base for those after-trades.
The technical insight
The performance of any membrane-forming curing compound is governed by how much mixing water it retains, measured under ASTM C156. The Fosroc Concure AB acrylic system targets low water loss (the white AB variant is rated at less than 0.55 kg/m2 to ASTM C156), which keeps the concrete pore network saturated long enough for the cement to reach a high degree of hydration. The Type 1, Class B classification under ASTM C309 tells the specifier two things: Type 1 means a clear or translucent compound with no fugitive dye or pigment, and Class B sets the resin-solids requirement that controls film integrity. Acrylic chemistry is deliberately chosen over wax emulsions here because the cured acrylic film is non-degrading and stays bonded to the slab, allowing direct overcoating by water- and solvent-based acrylics, epoxies and polyurethanes without the mechanical wire-brushing that wax-based membranes demand. In Delhi NCR summer conditions, evaporation rates routinely exceed the rate at which bleed water rises, which is exactly when plastic-shrinkage cracks form; a curing membrane applied immediately after the bleed water disappears is the most cost-effective defence. The compound must be applied as a continuous, unbroken film at the correct spread rate, because curing efficiency falls off sharply if the membrane is patchy or over-thinned.
Where it is used
- Curing fresh RMC slabs, rafts and pavements where water curing is impractical
- Curing and dustproofing warehouse, factory and basement floors
- Curing columns, beams, shear walls and other vertical or sloping elements after de-shuttering
- Sealing and dustproofing existing concrete floors and walls
- Clear curing of high-rise floor plates to eliminate ponding at height
- Pre-treating slabs that will later receive epoxy, PU, tile or paint finishes
Key advantages
- Single spray application provides curing for the whole curing period, eliminating ponding, hessian and sand
- Water based, solvent-free, non-flammable and low-odour – safer for enclosed and occupied sites
- Clear dried film leaves the natural concrete appearance, unlike white pigmented curing compounds
- Non-degrading acrylic film can be directly overcoated with acrylic, epoxy and polyurethane systems
- Reduces plastic-shrinkage cracking, surface dusting and permeability, improving durability
- Cuts curing water consumption and curing labour, a real saving on water-scarce NCR sites
- Complies with ASTM C309 Type 1, Class B for specification on quality-controlled projects
Limitations & considerations
- A membrane curing compound is not a waterproofing coating and gives no positive or negative water resistance
- Curing efficiency depends on a continuous, correctly spread film – patchy or over-thinned application reduces performance
- Should not be exposed to moving water or rain until tack-free; protect freshly sprayed surfaces
- Not recommended for areas subject to heavy traffic or immersed conditions as a final wearing surface
- Apply only within the stated ambient/substrate temperature range; avoid application below about 5 C
- Where a fully bonded later topping needs penetration into the slab, the membrane may need mechanical removal
- Always carry out an on-site bond trial before relying on it as a base for a specific after-trade finish
Selection & best practice
Apply Concure AB Clear as soon as the surface bleed water has evaporated and the sheen has gone – on hot, windy NCR afternoons this can be within an hour or two of finishing, so keep the sprayer charged and ready at the pour. Stir the drum gently before use, then spray a single, uniform, overlapping-free coat at the recommended 4-6 m2/litre, holding the nozzle about 450 mm from the surface and passing back and forth for complete cover; brush or roller only on concrete already hard enough not to be damaged. Do not walk on or disturb the film until it is fully dry, and protect it from rain and moving water until tack-free. If the slab will later take an epoxy, PU or tile finish, confirm overcoat compatibility and run a small bond trial first, ensuring the surface is free of oil, dust and stains before the after-trade goes down.

Industry use cases
Ready-mix and infrastructure
Curing large slab and pavement pours where round-the-clock water curing is impossible; one spray pass per pour keeps hydration uniform across the deck.
Industrial and warehouse flooring
Curing plus dustproofing of factory and logistics-park floors in Delhi NCR, leaving a clear, low-dust surface that can later take an epoxy or PU coating.
High-rise and commercial construction
Clear curing of upper-floor slabs and columns to eliminate ponding at height, saving water-pumping effort and protecting finishes below.
Repair and refurbishment
Sealing and dustproofing existing concrete floors and walls in plants and basements, hardening friable surfaces before re-coating.
Precast and shuttered elements
Spray-applied to columns, beams and precast units immediately after de-moulding, where conventional wet curing is unreliable on vertical faces.

How we position Fosroc Concure AB Clear
Within the Fosroc Concure curing range, Concure AB Clear sits as the clear, water-based acrylic option for situations where appearance and overcoatability matter. Its sibling Concure AB White is the pigmented, solar-reflective version for exposed external slabs, while Concure WB Clear is a wax-emulsion compound (ASTM C309 Type 1, Class A) that gives good economy on pavements and bridge decks but usually needs mechanical removal before later coatings. Concure 1315 is the higher-performance acrylic (ASTM C1315) with UV, chemical and abrasion resistance for premium floors, and Concure A / Concure 90 cover other efficiency grades. Against the wider market, Concure AB Clear competes with acrylic curing-and-sealing compounds such as Sika Antisol / Sikacure, MYK / MBS curing compounds, Dr. Fixit Crystalline-line curing aids and STP (Sika Tile/STP) curing products; the right choice usually comes down to required curing efficiency under ASTM C156, whether a clear or pigmented film is wanted, and overcoat compatibility with the planned finish. Space Arc Engineering can cross-specify the correct Fosroc grade and supply verified material with technical backup rather than a generic substitute.
