Nitoflor Epoxy SL
Self-Levelling Epoxy Flooring System for Smooth Industrial and Commercial Floors
Authorized Project Distributor — Fosroc India | Space Arc Engineering, Ghaziabad
Product Overview
Nitoflor Epoxy SL is a two-component, solvent-free, self-levelling epoxy flooring system for the production of smooth, durable, hygienic industrial and commercial floor surfaces. Applied at 2 to 3 mm thickness using a spiked roller and notched squeegee, the self-levelling formulation produces a smooth, glass-like surface that is far superior in cleanliness and aesthetics compared to rolled epoxy coatings or power-floated concrete. The seamless, non-porous, easy-to-clean surface is ideal for food processing areas, pharmaceutical production, laboratories, clean rooms, and any industrial facility where hygiene, ease of cleaning, and chemical resistance are primary requirements. Unlike the thin coating Nitoflor FC140, the 2 to 3 mm thickness of Nitoflor Epoxy SL provides greater protection of the underlying concrete substrate, better impact resistance, and a self-levelling finish that masks minor surface irregularities in the substrate. Available in a range of colours, the system can be specified with standard finish (gloss smooth) or with broadcast anti-slip aggregate for areas where slip resistance is also required. Space Arc Engineering distributes Nitoflor Epoxy SL for pharmaceutical, food processing, laboratory, and industrial floor projects across Delhi NCR, Ghaziabad, and Northern India.
Applications
- Food processing facility and commercial kitchen floor finishing

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Nitoflor Epoxy SL and Nitoflor FC140?
Nitoflor FC140 is a thin coat epoxy floor coating applied at 200 to 300 microns DFT — it provides a protective coating but does not significantly level the substrate surface. Nitoflor Epoxy SL is a self-levelling flooring applied at 2 to 3 mm — it fills minor surface irregularities and produces a perfectly smooth, glass-like floor surface. The SL system is more expensive but provides better aesthetics, higher impact resistance, and is preferred for hygienic applications (food, pharmaceutical) where the smooth, seamless surface is critical. FC140 is specified where economy is important and the substrate is already of adequate quality and flatness.
How flat does the substrate need to be for Nitoflor Epoxy SL self-levelling application?
Nitoflor Epoxy SL self-levels to some extent and will bridge minor surface irregularities, but it cannot compensate for large depressions, high spots, or out-of-flat substrates. The concrete substrate should be prepared to a floor flatness of FM2 or better (TR34 category) before SL application. Large depressions (more than 5 to 10 mm) should be filled with Renderoc or epoxy filler before the SL system is applied. Very uneven substrates should be overlaid with a cementitious topping (Cemtop) to achieve flatness before epoxy flooring.
Can Nitoflor Epoxy SL be used in areas with underfloor heating?
High floor temperatures (above 30 to 35 degrees C substrate temperature) significantly reduce the pot life of the epoxy and can cause the self-levelling layer to set too quickly before it achieves an even surface. If underfloor heating is installed, the system should be switched off for 24 to 48 hours before and during application, and the substrate temperature allowed to fall below 30 degrees C. Contact Space Arc Engineering for guidance on epoxy flooring installation over underfloor heating substrates.
