Product Overview

Dr. Fixit Repairite is a ready-to-use polymer-modified cementitious compound manufactured by Pidilite Industries that functions as both a waterproof plaster additive (when blended with site-mixed cement-sand mortar) and as a standalone repair mortar (mixed with cement powder alone for crack filling and surface repair). The product is based on a blend of Portland cement, graded fine aggregate, and proprietary polymer modifiers (similar in principle to SBR but in a ready-mixed dry powder format) that produce a pre-dosed, consistently mixed waterproofing compound without the need for separate liquid polymer admixtures at site. When used as a plaster additive, Dr. Fixit Repairite replaces a portion of the sand in the standard 1:4 cement-sand plaster mix, reducing water demand, improving workability, and incorporating polymer modifiers that reduce the water permeability of the finished plaster by forming a polymer-reinforced cement matrix. The resulting plaster has improved bond to substrate, reduced shrinkage cracking, and higher waterproofing performance compared to plain cement-sand plaster — suitable for external render on rain-exposed walls, wet-area internal plaster in bathrooms and kitchens, and waterproof render on retaining walls and basement external faces. When used as a repair compound (mixed with OPC cement and water to a trowel-grade consistency), Dr. Fixit Repairite is applied to fill and repair spalled concrete, honeycombed areas, chipped render, mortar joint defects, and hairline cracks in concrete and masonry. The polymer modification ensures good bond to the prepared existing substrate and flexibility to accommodate minor thermal movement without re-cracking.
