Dr. Fixit MP Sealant (Feviseal Multipurpose Acrylic Sealant)
Single-component, water-based siliconized acrylic sealant from Pidilite for paintable gap filling around frames, mouldings, partitions and service penetrations — supplied in 280 ml cartridges.
What is it?
A ready-to-use, one-part siliconized acrylic emulsion sealant (Pidilite item 515, Feviseal Multipurpose) that air-dries to a flexible, paintable seal.
Where is it used?
Interior and exterior gaps and cracks: window and door frame perimeters, skirtings, mouldings, glass partitions, and around AC ducts, vents, pipes and fittings.
Why use it?
Sticks to wood, aluminium, glass, PVC, plaster, brick, stone and concrete without primer, cleans up with water, and takes both water-based and oil-based paint after drying.
How is it applied?
Gun-applied from a 280 ml cartridge into clean, dry joints; tool the bead within the 10-30 minute skin time and keep it water-free for 24 hours.
About Dr. Fixit MP Sealant (Feviseal Multipurpose Acrylic Sealant)
Listed on our catalogue as Dr. Fixit MP Sealant, this is Pidilite’s Feviseal Multipurpose Siliconized Acrylic Sealant — the general-purpose gap filler that painting and fit-out crews across India reach for when a joint needs to disappear under a coat of paint. It is a single-component, water-based acrylic emulsion carrying a silicone additive that improves flexibility and grip on the substrate. Straight from the cartridge it extrudes as a smooth, anti-sag paste; the clear grade goes on white and turns transparent as it dries over about a week.
Where a silicone bead resists paint and a PU sealant demands solvent cleanup, this sealant does the opposite job: it fills, dries, and accepts water-based or oil-based paint after 24 hours, with tools and hands washing off in plain water. Adhesion covers most construction substrates — wood, aluminium, most metals, glass, PVC and most plastics, plaster, brick, stone and concrete — without an adhesion primer. Space Arc supplies genuine Pidilite stock with technical support across Delhi NCR and pan-India.
The technical insight
Unlike silicone or polyurethane sealants that cure by chemical reaction with atmospheric moisture, this sealant is an acrylic emulsion that sets purely by water evaporation. As the water leaves, the dispersed acrylic polymer particles pack together and coalesce into a continuous elastic film — Shore A hardness of about 45 with a minimum 700% elongation at break after a 7-day cure at 30°C and 60% RH. That drying mechanism explains its behaviour on site: cure advances at roughly 2 mm per day from the surface inward, slows when humidity exceeds 80%, temperature drops below 13°C or the gap is wider than 8 mm, and the uncured bead is vulnerable to rain in the first 24 hours. It also explains the paintability — the dried acrylic film is chemically similar to emulsion paint binders, so paint keys onto it directly. Being water-based, it loses volume as it dries (shrinkage below 40% v/v), which is why deep gaps benefit from a second pass.
Where it is used
- Perimeter sealing of window and door frames before painting
- Gap filling along skirtings, architraves, baseboards and decorative mouldings
- Sealing static plaster cracks and wall-ceiling junctions ahead of repainting
- Sealing around AC ducts, vents, exhaust fan frames and grilles
- Perimeter joints of glass partitions in office fit-outs
- Sealing around pipes, conduits and cable penetrations through walls
- Interior gap filling on brick, stone, concrete and plastered surfaces
- General snagging and maintenance sealing in occupied buildings
Key advantages
- Single-component and ready to use straight from the cartridge — no mixing, no primer on most substrates
- Fully paintable with both water-based and oil-based paints after 24 hours of drying
- Water cleanup for tools and hands; low-VOC formulation suits occupied interiors
- Adheres to wood, aluminium, glass, most metals, PVC, plaster, brick, stone and concrete
- Anti-sag consistency holds a neat bead in vertical joints
- High flexibility once dry — minimum 700% elongation at break
- Clear grade dries transparent in about 7 days for finish-sensitive work
- 2-year shelf life when stored at 5-30°C, and economical against silicone or PU for high-volume gap filling
Limitations & considerations
- Not for continuous water immersion — unsuitable for bathrooms, swimming pools, aquariums and permanently wet areas
- Not recommended for exterior construction joints, structural glazing or weatherproofing joints; moving joints need a PU or hybrid sealant
- Uncured bead must stay dry: no application on damp substrates or when rain is expected within 24 hours
- No adhesion to polyethylene, polypropylene, PTFE (Teflon) or powder-coated surfaces
- Not for trafficable joints or locations exposed to abrasion and physical abuse; it is a gap filler, not a panel adhesive
- Drying-based cure is slow (about 2 mm/day, full cure ~7 days) and shrinkage can approach 40% by volume, so deep gaps may need refilling
Selection & best practice
Start with a clean, dry joint — brush out loose material, dust, oil and rust, because a drying-type sealant will not forgive a damp or dirty substrate. Cut the cartridge nozzle at 45 degrees to match the bead size you need, run masking tape along both edges of the joint, and gun the sealant in with continuous, uniform pressure so the gap fills without voids. Tool the bead with a palette knife, metal plate or a dry finger before the skin forms — you have 10 to 30 minutes at 30°C — then strip the tape while the sealant is still workable. Keep the joint away from any water for at least 24 hours and allow about 7 days for full drying; ventilation speeds it up, while humidity above 80%, temperatures below 13°C or gaps wider than 8 mm slow it down. Wait a minimum of 24 hours before overpainting with either water-based or oil-based paint. Work only between 5°C and 45°C, and always trial a small test area first.

Industry use cases
Repainting & Redecoration
Painting contractors seal frame perimeters, skirting gaps and static plaster cracks, then paint over the same bead after 24 hours — one product, no paint-rejection issues that silicone causes.
Commercial Interiors & Fit-Out
Office and retail fit-out teams use it around glass partitions, mouldings and baseboards where a low-odour, low-VOC, water-cleanup sealant suits occupied premises.
HVAC & MEP Services
Neat, paintable sealing where ducts, vents, pipes, conduits and exhaust fan frames penetrate internal walls and ceilings — closing air gaps and dust paths.
Facility Maintenance
Maintenance teams in offices, schools, hospitals and housing societies keep cartridges on hand for everyday gap and crack sealing during occupied-building upkeep.
Handover & Snagging
Builders and project teams close out snag lists — hairline gaps at junctions, frame edges and service penetrations — quickly and invisibly before final painting and possession.

How we position Dr. Fixit MP Sealant (Feviseal Multipurpose Acrylic Sealant)
Think of Dr. Fixit MP Sealant as the paint-ready workhorse of the Pidilite sealant family: the right pick when the joint is static, indoors or sheltered, and destined for a coat of paint. The moment the joint moves, gets wet or carries traffic, step up within the same family — Dr. Fixit PU Sealant for exterior expansion and construction joints, Feviseal silicone grades for sanitary and glazing work, and Feviseal HY 100 hybrid where paintability and movement are both required. Space Arc also stocks Sika (Sikaflex) and Fosroc (Nitoseal) elastomeric sealants for engineered movement joints on infrastructure and facade packages. Tell us the joint width, movement and exposure, and we will match the chemistry — and back it with pan-India supply and applicator support.
