Product Overview

Conplast P211 is a liquid accelerating and waterproofing admixture from Fosroc for use in concrete, mortars, renders, and screed applications where faster setting, earlier strength development, and integral waterproofing are required. The product accelerates the hydration of Portland cement, reducing the initial and final setting times and increasing the rate of early compressive strength gain. This makes Conplast P211 valuable for fast-track construction projects where early formwork striking and loading of the structure are needed, for cold weather concreting where low temperatures slow cement hydration to impractical rates, and for repair mortar applications where the structure must be returned to service as quickly as possible. In addition to its accelerating action, Conplast P211 imparts integral waterproofing properties to the concrete or mortar, reducing water permeability by blocking capillary pores in the cementitious matrix. This dual function is particularly useful in basement and foundation concrete, where both fast setting (to reduce the period of exposure to groundwater) and reduced permeability (to resist long-term water ingress) are needed. Conplast P211 is a non-chloride product, making it suitable for reinforced concrete — an important distinction from calcium chloride-based accelerators, which corrode reinforcing steel.
