Conplast SP430 — High Range Water Reducing Superplasticiser for Structural Concrete

Conplast SP430

High Range Water Reducing Superplasticiser for Structural Concrete

Authorized Project Distributor — Fosroc India | Space Arc Engineering, Ghaziabad

Product Overview

Conplast SP430 is a high range water reducing (HRWR) superplasticiser admixture based on a sulphonated naphthalene formaldehyde condensate, conforming to IS 9103 and ASTM C494 Type A and F. It is one of the most widely used concrete admixtures in India for structural concrete production, enabling significant water reduction (typically 20–25%) while maintaining high workability, or alternatively allowing concrete to be placed at much higher slump without additional water. Used correctly, Conplast SP430 results in concrete with higher compressive strength, lower permeability, and better durability than conventional mixes at the same cement content. It is compatible with all types of Portland cement used in India and can be used in conjunction with fly ash, GGBS, and silica fume in blended cement concretes. Conplast SP430 is used in columns, slabs, beams, foundations, precast elements, and all concrete applications where improved workability and higher strength are required. Space Arc Engineering distributes Conplast SP430 for ready mix plants, precast manufacturers, and construction projects across Delhi NCR, Ghaziabad, and Northern India.

Applications

  • High workability structural concrete for columns and slabs
  • High strength concrete production (M40 and above)
  • Ready mix concrete with improved pumpability
  • Precast concrete with high early strength requirements
  • Concrete with reduced water-cement ratio for enhanced durability
  • Self-compacting concrete (SCC) formulation in combination with VMA

Key Advantages

  • High water reduction — 20–25% leading to higher strength
  • Maintains workability without excess water
  • Compatible with all types of Portland cement in India
  • IS 9103 and ASTM C494 Type A and F compliant
  • Improves pumpability and ease of placing
  • Widely used and proven in the Indian construction market

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the typical dosage of Conplast SP430 in concrete?

The typical dosage of Conplast SP430 is 0.6 to 1.5 litres per 100 kg of total cementitious material (cement plus fly ash or GGBS). The exact dosage depends on the target workability (slump), water-cement ratio, and mix design. Trial mixes should be carried out to optimise the dosage for each specific mix. Over-dosage beyond the maximum recommended level can cause excessive retardation or segregation.

Can Conplast SP430 be used with fly ash concrete?

Yes. Conplast SP430 is compatible with fly ash and GGBS blended concretes. In fact, the combination of Conplast SP430 with fly ash often produces excellent results — the fly ash ball-bearing effect and the water reduction from SP430 work together to produce high workability, low water-cement ratio, durable concrete. The dosage may need slight adjustment when significant fly ash replacement (30% or more) is used.

Is Conplast SP430 the same as the newer Conplast SP430G8 or SP430ES2?

Conplast SP430 is the original naphthalene-based superplasticiser. Conplast SP430G8 and SP430ES2 are enhanced formulations that offer improved performance characteristics such as higher slump retention (ES2) or specific applications. For standard structural concrete production, SP430 remains widely used and cost-effective. For ready mix applications requiring longer slump retention or specific performance requirements, the enhanced variants may be more appropriate. Space Arc Engineering can advise on which grade is most suitable for your application.
