Trafficguard
Polyurethane Traffic Coating System for Car Park Decks and Ramps
Authorized Project Distributor — Fosroc India | Space Arc Engineering, Ghaziabad
Product Overview
Trafficguard is a multi-layer, polyurethane-based traffic coating system for the waterproofing and protection of exposed reinforced concrete car park decks, ramps, and multi-storey podium slabs subject to vehicular traffic, water ingress, de-icing salts, tyre abrasion, and fuel spillage. Unlike standard waterproofing membranes designed for foot traffic only, the Trafficguard system is engineered to resist the full mechanical demands of vehicular traffic — including point loading from tyre contact, abrasion from turning vehicles, and dynamic loading on ramps and speed humps — while simultaneously providing waterproofing to prevent water and chloride penetration to the reinforcement below. The system typically consists of a primer, base coat, reinforcing fabric layer, additional polyurethane course, and anti-slip wearing course — building up a durable, seamless system with high elongation, impact resistance, and abrasion resistance. Trafficguard can be applied in grey, red, and other colours to provide visual demarcation of pedestrian zones, traffic lanes, and exit routes. Space Arc Engineering distributes Trafficguard for multi-storey car park, shopping mall podium, and commercial complex parking deck projects across Delhi NCR, Ghaziabad, and Northern India.

Frequently Asked Questions
How is Trafficguard different from standard roof waterproofing products like Roofguard or Nitoproof 650PU?
Roofguard and Nitoproof 650PU are waterproofing membranes designed for foot-trafficked or lightly trafficked exposed roofs. Trafficguard is a heavy-duty traffic coating system engineered to resist the full mechanical loading of vehicular traffic — tyres turning on ramps, dynamic wheel loads, abrasion, and fuel spillage — while also providing waterproofing. The Trafficguard system has a much harder, thicker wearing course and higher abrasion resistance than standard roof waterproofing systems, which would fail prematurely under vehicular traffic conditions.
Does Trafficguard require an anti-slip surface finish on ramps?
Yes. Ramps and any areas subject to pedestrian or vehicular traffic must have an anti-slip surface finish. Trafficguard incorporates a broadcast aggregate wearing course (sand or aluminium oxide broadcast into the final coat before it cures) that provides the required slip resistance. The surface texture of the anti-slip course should be specified in accordance with the car park specification and local authority requirements. Flat deck areas that are not ramps may have a smoother finish for aesthetic reasons, while retaining full waterproofing performance.
How long does a Trafficguard car park deck system last before recoating?
A correctly designed and applied Trafficguard system on a properly prepared concrete substrate typically provides a service life of 10 to 15 years before the wearing course needs renewal. The wearing course can be re-applied over the sound existing base coats, extending the effective life of the system at lower cost than a full strip-and-replace. Annual maintenance inspections to check for tyre track abrasion, edge damage, and drain sealing should be carried out to maximise service life.
