Product Overview
Sikaflex-127 is a single-component, moisture-curing hybrid sealant built on silane-terminated polymer (STP) chemistry, designed to perform both as an elastic joint sealant and as a structural-grade adhesive. It is ideal for sealing connection joints around window and door frames, precast concrete elements and envelope details, while also bonding concrete, masonry, stone, ceramic, wood, metals, glass and aluminium composite panels, in most cases without priming. Being isocyanate-free, solvent-free, low-odour and paintable, it suits both interior and exterior work where weather durability matters. With movement accommodation of around plus or minus 12.5 percent and strong ageing resistance, it serves contractors, facade installers and fabricators seeking one product for two jobs. Is Sikaflex-127 a sealant or an adhesive?
It is both. Sikaflex-127 is a hybrid polyurethane product that works as an elastic joint sealant for envelope and connection joints and also as a bonding adhesive for many construction materials, so a single cartridge handles both tasks.
Does Sikaflex-127 need a primer?
On most common substrates it bonds without pre-treatment. For demanding or critical substrates Sika lists specific primers, so always check the adhesion table in the current TDS before large-scale application.
Can Sikaflex-127 be painted over?
