UltraTech Tilefixo Style Epoxy Grout
Three-component epoxy grout engineered for stain-proof, waterproof joints in tile and stone work across kitchens, bathrooms, pools and heavy-traffic commercial floors.
What is it?
A three-part epoxy system of resin, hardener and filler powder that cures into a dense, largely non-porous joint fill for ceramic, vitrified, glass mosaic, granite, marble and engineered-stone tiling.
Where is it used?
Home kitchens and bathrooms, swimming pools and water features, hotel and showroom floors, hospital and laboratory areas, and any joint that will see standing water, cleaning chemicals or constant foot traffic.
Why use it?
Cement-based grout is porous by nature — it soaks up oil, turmeric and tea stains, and lets water migrate to the bedding layer over time. This epoxy system closes that gap with a joint that is close to non-absorbent and holds its colour under repeated cleaning.
How is it applied?
Blend Part A resin with Part B hardener first, then work in the Part C filler powder for three to four minutes until the mix is lump-free and uniform, and press the stiff paste into dry, debris-free joints within the 45-minute pot life using a rubber grout float or squeegee.
About UltraTech Tilefixo Style Epoxy Grout
UltraTech Tilefixo Style Epoxy Grout is the epoxy option inside UltraTech’s Tilefixo tile-fixing range, built for projects where a cement-based grout simply will not hold up — wet, high-traffic, or chemically exposed floors and walls. It ships as three pre-measured components: a resin, a hardener and a filler powder, mixed on site in that order and worked into joints as a stiff, workable paste. Once cured, the joint is closed and largely non-porous rather than a fine network of capillaries the way ordinary grout is, which is what gives it its stain resistance and washability.
It suits ceramic and vitrified tile, glass mosaic, metal tile, granite and marble, engineered stone, and precast terrazzo, across joint widths of roughly 2 to 14 mm. Because grouting only starts once tile fixing has cured for at least 24 hours, and because the working pot life is short, this is a product best planned into the tiling schedule rather than picked up as an afterthought — mix quantities to match what a crew can place and finish inside that window, not what looks convenient to prepare.
The technical insight
The data sheet numbers are worth reading past the pass/fail line. Seven-day compressive strength comes in at roughly 80 N/mm² against an IS-referenced threshold near 24 N/mm², and flexural strength under ISO/EN testing sits around 32 N/mm² against a 30 N/mm² floor — so the margins on structural performance are real, not marginal. Shrinkage after seven days is measured at 0.06%, well inside the 0.25% ceiling, which matters directly for hairline cracking at joint edges in large-format tile work.
Chemical resistance, though, is not blanket. The stain-resistance chart that comes with the product shows it holding up to sodium hydroxide, sulfuric acid, oxalic and tartaric acid, common food and beverage staining agents, and household cleaners — but it is explicitly listed as not resistant to nitric acid, phosphoric acid, concentrated acetic acid or potassium permanganate. For labs, industrial kitchens or any spec where a specific reagent is in daily contact with the floor, that table is worth checking chemical-by-chemical rather than assuming “epoxy grout” covers everything.
Where it is used
- Residential kitchen and bathroom floor and wall tile joints
- Swimming pools, water features and wet decks
- Hotel, showroom and retail floor tiling
- Hospital wards, laboratories and pharma-grade floors
- Institutional kitchens and cafeteria floors
- Covered façade cladding and external tile joints
- Granite, marble and engineered-stone flooring joints
Key advantages
- Stain-free, non-porous joint that resists most household and process chemicals
- Waterproof — will not let moisture track through the joint into the tile bed
- High compressive and flexural strength margins over IS, ANSI and ISO/EN benchmarks
- Certified for food-grade use; anti-fungal and anti-bacterial joint surface
- Low shrinkage (0.06% at 7 days) reduces joint-edge cracking on large-format tile
- Uniform colour across the full joint length, batch to batch
Limitations & considerations
- Short 45-minute pot life demands disciplined batch sizing on site
- Not resistant to nitric acid, phosphoric acid, concentrated acetic acid or potassium permanganate
- Requires joints fully dry, with tile fixing cured at least 24 hours before grouting starts
- Higher material cost and slower application than cement-based grout
- Needs masking on unglazed, porous or textured tile faces to avoid staining
Selection & best practice
Mix only what the crew can place inside the 45-minute pot life at typical site temperature — over-mixing or batching too large a quantity is the single most common cause of grout going stiff mid-application and being wasted. Keep joints bone dry before filling; any residual dampness affects both bond and cure. On unglazed, matt-glaze, textured or natural-stone tile, run masking tape along the joint edges before grouting, since epoxy is far harder to lift off a porous tile face than off a glazed one once it sets. Do the first cleaning pass with a damp, rough-textured sponge within about 20 minutes of application, and a second detergent wash within 24 hours to clear any surface haze — waiting longer turns a five-minute wipe into a scraping job.

Industry use cases
Residential
Bathroom and kitchen floor and wall tiling where stain-free, washable joints matter more than upfront cost.
Hospitality
Hotel lobbies, spa and pool-deck tiling that needs to stay presentable under daily foot traffic and cleaning.
Healthcare
Hospital and laboratory floors where joints must withstand disinfectants and support hygiene protocols.
Food and beverage
Commercial kitchens and food-processing floors, backed by the product’s food-grade certification.
Institutional
Schools, offices and public buildings with granite or vitrified flooring under constant footfall.
Wet areas and pools
Swimming pools, saunas and water features where joints sit in standing water for extended periods.

How we position UltraTech Tilefixo Style Epoxy Grout
Within UltraTech’s own Tilefixo range, Style Epoxy Grout is the step up from standard cement-based tile grout — it costs more per kilogram and takes more site discipline to place correctly, but it is the specification default wherever a joint needs to shrug off water, staining and daily chemical contact rather than just look tidy on handover day. For a Delhi NCR or pan-India contractor choosing between grout types on a wet-area or food-grade job, the decision usually isn’t epoxy-versus-cement at all — cement grout is disqualified by the brief itself — it’s making sure the crew has budgeted the extra mixing time and short pot life into the schedule.
