Sika Sikafloor MultiDur EB-10 AP
A coloured, quartz-broadcast epoxy floor system that gives car parks, breweries, dairies and wet-process areas a hard-wearing, chemically resistant surface with genuine underfoot grip.
What is it?
A multi-coat epoxy broadcast flooring system built around the Sikafloor-264 binder, with quartz sand cast into a wet receiver coat and locked down under a coloured epoxy seal coat to a nominal 1 mm.
Where is it used?
Multistorey and basement car parks, aircraft maintenance hangars, and the wet-process floors of breweries, dairies, beverage plants and food factories where slip resistance is essential.
Why use it?
It marries hard epoxy mechanics (53 N/mm2 compressive strength, strong abrasion resistance) with a deliberately textured, anti-skid surface that stays safe when wet, greasy or wash-down heavy.
How is it applied?
Prepared concrete is primed, a Sikafloor-264 receiver coat is applied and blinded with 0.4-0.6 mm quartz to refusal, then vacuumed and locked in with a pigmented Sikafloor-264 seal coat in the chosen RAL shade.
About Sika Sikafloor MultiDur EB-10 AP
Sikafloor MultiDur EB-10 AP is Sika’s answer to a very specific flooring problem: how do you keep a floor hard, cleanable and chemically resistant, yet safe to walk and drive on when it is wet, oily or being hosed down? A smooth epoxy coating solves the first half but turns treacherous under water; a bare power-float turns dusty and porous. This system bridges the two by casting graded quartz sand into a fluid epoxy receiver coat, then sealing that texture in place. The result is a rigid, liquid-tight epoxy floor with a deliberate, engineered grip rather than a glassy finish. The binder in both the receiver and seal coats is Sikafloor-264 (or the high-coverage Sikafloor-264 HC), a proven two-part epoxy that carries the mechanical and chemical performance of the whole build-up.
For Indian specifiers and contractors, the appeal is that this is a system, not a single tin. Every coat, consumption rate and aggregate grade is defined by Sika, so a car-park deck in Gurugram and a dairy floor in Punjab are built to the same recipe. At roughly 1 mm total thickness it is a coating-class system rather than a heavy screed, which keeps it economical over sound concrete and quick to return to service. Space Arc Engineering supplies and applies the full MultiDur EB-10 AP build-up across Delhi NCR and pan-India, so the receiver coat, the correct quartz, and the coloured seal all come from one accountable source instead of being improvised on site.
The technical insight
The slip resistance here is mechanical, not a coating trick, and that is why it lasts. In a smooth epoxy floor, grip depends on a thin surface texture that polishes away under traffic. In a broadcast system, hard quartz grains of 0.4-0.6 mm are embedded into the wet Sikafloor-264 receiver coat and applied to refusal, so the sand stands proud in a dense, interlocked bed. The seal coat then flows around each grain and anchors it, leaving the aggregate profile at the surface. Because the texture is the shape of the aggregate rather than a fragile top film, the floor keeps its anti-skid character as it wears. Mechanically the epoxy matrix does the load-carrying work: around 53 N/mm2 in compression and 20 N/mm2 in flexure, with a Shore D hardness near 76 at 7 days and low Taber abrasion loss (about 41 mg, CS 10/1000/1000). The continuous, pore-free epoxy film is what makes the floor liquid-tight and washable, so spills, wash-water and mild chemicals sit on the surface instead of soaking into the concrete beneath.
Where it is used
- Deck coating for multistorey and underground car parks where tyres, turning traffic and ramp gradients demand grip
- Wet-process floors in breweries, distilleries and beverage bottling halls subject to constant spillage and wash-down
- Dairy, cheese and food-processing areas needing a cleanable, liquid-tight, non-slip surface
- Aircraft and vehicle maintenance hangars exposed to oils, fuels and heavy point loads
- Commercial and institutional kitchens where grease and water make smooth floors hazardous
- Loading bays, ramps and circulation aisles that must stay safe underfoot in wet conditions
- Warehouse and light-industrial zones wanting a durable coloured floor with defined slip resistance
- Zoned safety walkways and demarcated areas where a textured, colour-coded finish aids compliance
Key advantages
- Engineered, aggregate-based slip resistance that stays effective when the floor is wet, greasy or being hosed
- Hard, abrasion-resistant epoxy surface with high compressive strength for trafficked and heavy-use areas
- Liquid-tight, seamless finish that protects the concrete substrate and simplifies cleaning
- Good resistance to many chemicals encountered in car parks, food and beverage plants
- Wide RAL colour range for zoning, safety demarcation and a professional appearance
- Complete Sika-defined system, so coats and consumptions are consistent and specifiable, not guesswork
- Economical coating-class thickness (~1 mm) that adds performance without a heavy screed build-up
- Straightforward broadcast application by trained applicators, keeping downtime and cost controlled
Limitations & considerations
- At around 1 mm it is a coating system, not a heavy-duty screed; very high impact or thermal-shock floors may need a thicker MultiDur build-up or a PU screed
- The textured, anti-skid surface is intentionally rougher and harder to clean than a smooth self-levelling epoxy, so it suits grip-critical rather than ultra-hygienic gloss areas
- Performance depends entirely on the concrete below: substrate moisture must be below 4% by mass and pull-off strength adequate, or the system can debond
- Epoxy chemistry has a limited pot life (around 25 minutes at +20 degrees C), so mixed material must be placed promptly and needs disciplined, trained application
- Not intended for continuous hot-water, steam or strong-chemical exposure where a polyurethane-hybrid screed performs better
- Application is restricted to a controlled window (+8 to +35 degrees C, relative humidity up to 80%), which needs planning on open or humid Indian sites
Selection & best practice
Success with EB-10 AP is decided before the first coat goes down. Mechanically prepare the concrete by shot-blasting or grinding to an open, sound profile, and confirm it meets the minimums: roughly 25 N/mm2 compressive strength and at least 1.5 N/mm2 pull-off, with moisture below 4% by mass measured on a Tramex-type meter. Work only within +8 to +35 degrees C and up to 80% relative humidity, and keep the substrate at least 3 degrees C above the dew point to avoid condensation. Prime, then apply the Sikafloor-264 receiver coat and immediately broadcast the 0.4-0.6 mm quartz into the wet resin to refusal so the surface is fully saturated with sand. Once cured, vacuum off all loose aggregate before applying the pigmented seal coat, because trapped loose grains cause weak spots. Mix each unit fully and only mix what can be laid inside the pot life. Protect the fresh floor from water and traffic during cure and allow full curing (about 7 days at +20 degrees C) before subjecting it to chemicals or heavy loads.

Industry use cases
Car Parks & Decks
Multistorey and basement car parks in NCR commercial and residential towers, where ramps and turning bays need a coloured, grippy, abrasion-resistant deck coating that survives tyre traffic and wash-down.
Breweries & Beverage
Bottling halls, brew houses and washdown zones where constant spillage of water, sugars and mild acids demands a liquid-tight, non-slip epoxy floor that keeps operators safe on wet surfaces.
Dairy & Food Processing
Milk, cheese and food-prep areas needing a cleanable, seamless, chemically resistant floor with reliable grip underfoot despite grease, fats and frequent hosing.
Maintenance Hangars
Aircraft and heavy-vehicle maintenance bays exposed to oils, fuels and point loads, where a hard epoxy surface with anti-skid texture protects the concrete and improves safety.
Commercial Kitchens
Hotel, institutional and cloud-kitchen floors where grease and water combine; the broadcast texture provides the slip resistance a smooth coating cannot sustain.

How we position Sika Sikafloor MultiDur EB-10 AP
Sikafloor MultiDur EB-10 AP sits in the middle of Sika’s MultiDur flooring family, chosen specifically when slip resistance is the priority. It shares its Sikafloor-264 binder with the smooth, dry-area system Sikafloor MultiDur ES-10 AP, so a facility can run a textured anti-skid floor in wet and trafficked zones and a smooth, easy-clean finish in dry process areas while keeping one consistent binder. Where duty is heavier or exposure more aggressive, step up within the same Sika range to a thicker MultiDur screed. For projects standardised on Fosroc, the closest genuine counterpart is Fosroc Nitoflor SL2000, a flow-applied epoxy topping, while heavy hot-water and chemical wash-down floors are better served by the Fosroc Nitoflor TF 100 UH PU-hybrid screed. Space Arc supplies all of these lines and will match the system to your substrate, traffic and exposure rather than to a single brand.
Fosroc Nitoflor SL2000 — Choose the Fosroc SL2000 flow-applied epoxy topping when you want a smooth, seamless, easy-clean finish rather than the deliberately textured anti-skid surface of the Sika broadcast system.
