What is the difference between Zn PE and Zn R?
Zn PE uses phenolic epoxy binder for higher chemical resistance. Zn R uses standard epoxy resin. Both are zinc-rich for cathodic protection, but Zn PE suits more aggressive environments.
What surface preparation is needed?
Zinc-rich primers require blast-cleaned steel to Sa 2.5 (near-white). Mill scale must be removed for effective cathodic protection.
