Master Builders Solutions Ucrete MF AS
Static-dissipative polyurethane-concrete flooring that pairs Ucrete’s legendary toughness with a controlled path to earth — for ESD-sensitive assembly halls and solvent-handling plants.
What is it?
A smooth, matt, seamless heavy-duty polyurethane-concrete floor topping laid at 4–6 mm, engineered to dissipate static charge through a conductive primer and earthing network beneath the wearing body.
Where is it used?
Electronics and semiconductor assembly, pharmaceutical areas handling flammable solvents, battery and chemical plants, data centres, switchgear rooms and explosive-handling facilities.
Why use it?
It delivers resistance-to-ground typically below 1 × 10⁶ ohm — meeting DIN 51953, BS 2050 and IEC 61340 — on a floor with 48–53 N/mm² compressive strength and wide chemical resistance.
How is it applied?
Installed only by trained applicator crews: prepared concrete receives a conductive primer with copper earthing connections, then the pre-weighed, pigmented Ucrete MF AS body is trowel-finished to a seamless matt surface.
About Master Builders Solutions Ucrete MF AS
Ucrete MF AS belongs to the Ucrete family from Master Builders Solutions — a polyurethane-concrete flooring technology that has been protecting food, pharmaceutical and chemical plants worldwide for over four decades. The MF AS grade produces a smooth, matt, seamless wearing surface at 4–6 mm and adds a property ordinary resin floors cannot offer: engineered static dissipation. A conductive primer and earthing network beneath the wearing body hold resistance-to-ground typically below 1 × 10⁶ ohm, so charge generated by trolleys, footwear and process movement bleeds safely to earth rather than accumulating until it sparks or damages sensitive components.
That dual character is exactly what Indian electronics, EV-battery and pharma projects now demand. The floor stands up to concentrated acids, 50% caustic, solvents and 80 °C wash-downs (at 6 mm), tolerates residual substrate moisture well enough to go onto seven-day-old concrete, and returns to foot traffic in about eight hours. Space Arc Engineering supplies Ucrete MF AS as an authorised distributor and arranges installation through trained crews across Delhi NCR and pan-India — including substrate assessment, earthing layout and post-cure resistance verification, so the handover file satisfies both the structural consultant and the ESD auditor.
The technical insight
Two mechanisms work together in this system. First, the polyurethane-concrete matrix: unlike rigid epoxies, Ucrete cures into a dense, impervious body with high compressive strength (48–53 N/mm²) but a comparatively low elastic modulus, so impact energy is absorbed rather than propagated as cracks, and thermal movement from hot wash-downs does not debond the floor. Second, the electrical pathway: a carbon-conductive primer, tied to earth through copper connection points, sits directly beneath the wearing layer. The body of the floor is formulated conductive enough that any charge reaching the surface travels down to the primer plane and out to earth — dissipation is controlled, not instantaneous, which is precisely what IEC 61340 requires for ESD-protected areas and what BS 2050 demands where flammable atmospheres make an uncontrolled spark unacceptable.
Where it is used
- Electronics and semiconductor assembly halls, SMT lines and ESD-protected areas
- Pharmaceutical production and dispensing areas handling flammable solvents
- Battery manufacturing, cell assembly and formation rooms
- Paint, ink and solvent stores and chemical process floors in classified zones
- Data centres, server rooms, UPS/battery rooms and switchgear areas
- Defence, ordnance and explosive-handling facilities requiring antistatic floors to BS 2050
- Precision engineering, metrology and instrumentation laboratories
- Packing halls and dry process areas needing a hygienic, easy-clean antistatic surface
Key advantages
- Resistance-to-ground typically below 1 × 10⁶ ohm, verified against DIN 51953, BS 2050 and IEC 61340
- Polyurethane-concrete durability — 48–53 N/mm² compressive strength with genuine impact resilience
- Broad chemical resistance: concentrated mineral and organic acids, alkalis to 50% NaOH, and common solvents
- Withstands cleaning temperatures up to 80 °C at 6 mm thickness without softening or debonding
- Moisture-tolerant — installs on seven-day-old concrete, keeping fast-track project programmes on schedule
- Seamless, impervious and microbiologically inert; Ucrete systems are accredited for HACCP-based food-safety regimes
- Rapid return to service: foot traffic in about 8 hours, vehicles in 24 hours at normal temperatures
- Very low VOC emissions — the Ucrete range holds the Indoor Air Comfort Gold label
Limitations & considerations
- Installation is restricted to trained, approved applicators — this is not a product for in-house maintenance teams to lay
- The smooth matt finish (R10 slip rating) is intended for predominantly dry areas; constantly wet or oily process zones need a textured Ucrete grade instead
- At 4 mm the service envelope narrows to roughly −15 °C to +60 °C — specify 6 mm where hot wash-downs or deep-freeze service apply
- UV exposure yellows the surface over time, most visibly in light shades, though performance is unaffected
- Higher initial cost than conventional epoxy ESD coatings — the payback is service life, not purchase price
- Substrate must achieve at least 1.5 N/mm² tensile strength, and moving joints must be reflected through the floor and sealed
Selection & best practice
Prepare the concrete by captive shot-blasting or diamond grinding to a sound, laitance-free surface with minimum 1.5 N/mm² pull-off strength; the slab should be visibly dry, at least seven days old, and protected by a functioning DPM — never an epoxy surface DPM, which softens under heat. Plot the earthing layout before priming: copper connection points are set into the conductive primer at the intervals given in the application manual and later tied to the building earth. Hold substrate, ambient and material temperatures between +15 and +30 °C, with the substrate at least 3 °C above dew point. Mix full pre-weighed kits only — never split packs — lay the wearing body to 4 or 6 mm, and trowel-close to a uniform matt finish. After cure, test resistance-to-ground across a measurement grid and record the values for the ESD compliance file.

How we position Master Builders Solutions Ucrete MF AS
Ucrete MF AS is the right call when static control is non-negotiable and the floor must still take chemical and mechanical punishment. If you need the same smooth Ucrete surface without ESD performance, standard Ucrete MF costs less. For wet or oily processing bays, move to the textured, slip-resistant Ucrete DP grades, and for the hardest-worked thermal-shock zones — fryers, wash bays, freezer-to-oven traffic — Ucrete UD200 is the family’s heavy artillery. Where duty is lighter and budgets tighter, an antistatic epoxy such as those in the Sikafloor ESD range (which Space Arc also supplies) covers dry electronics areas at a lower cost per square metre. Talk to us with your zone classification and wash-down regime, and we will match the grade honestly.
