Fosroc Concure 1315 (Clear)
Eco-friendly, water-based acrylic curing compound, sealer and dustproofer that locks moisture into fresh concrete, cuts shrinkage cracking and leaves a clear non-yellowing film.
What is it?
A single-component, water-based acrylic-resin curing compound, surface sealer and dustproofer for concrete, supplied as a clear liquid that dries to a transparent non-yellowing film.
Where is it used?
Suspended and ground slabs, industrial and warehouse floors, columns, walls, bridge decks, high-rise slabs and any large concrete pour where ponding or wet-hessian curing is impractical.
Why use it?
It retains mix water for proper cement hydration (complying with ASTM C309 and C1315), reducing plastic-shrinkage and drying-shrinkage cracking while sealing and dustproofing the surface in a single spray-applied operation.
How is it applied?
Applied by low-pressure spray (or roller/brush) to freshly finished concrete as soon as surface water has disappeared, at roughly 5-10 m2/litre per coat depending on surface texture and absorbency.
About Fosroc Concure 1315 (Clear)
Fosroc Concure 1315 (Clear) is the transparent grade of Fosroc’s acrylic curing-compound family, designed to replace traditional water curing on Indian construction sites where ponding, wet hessian or continuous sprinkling are difficult, wasteful or simply impossible to police across a large pour. It is an eco-friendly, water-based dispersion of acrylic resin that contains no solvents, oils, waxes, chlorinated or saponifiable materials, so it is comparatively low-odour and site-friendly. Once sprayed onto green concrete it coalesces into a continuous, clear film that seals the surface and dramatically slows the loss of mix water to evaporation. By keeping that water in the matrix during the critical first days, the cement is allowed to hydrate fully, which translates into better strength gain, lower permeability and a markedly reduced risk of plastic-shrinkage and early drying-shrinkage cracks. Because the cured film is clear and non-yellowing, Concure 1315 (Clear) is the natural choice where the natural concrete finish must be preserved, or where the slab will later receive tile adhesive, screed, water-based or solvent-based acrylic, epoxy or polyurethane coatings. The same film doubles as a dustproofer, binding surface laitance so that warehouse and factory floors throw off less dust in service. For Space Arc Engineering’s customers across Delhi NCR and Pan-India, it is a practical curing solution for high-rise slabs, podiums, industrial floors, columns and infrastructure decks where labour-based water curing cannot reliably be maintained.
The technical insight
The performance of any membrane-forming curing compound is judged by its water-retention efficiency, and Concure 1315 is formulated to meet ASTM C309 (liquid membrane-forming curing compounds) and ASTM C1315 (high-performance curing/sealing compounds), with moisture loss limited to under 0.4 kg/m2 when tested to ASTM C156. The Clear grade carries a lower solids content (around 27 percent) than the white grade (around 33 percent), which means the dry film is thinner and optically clear rather than pigmented. The practical trade-off is that the white grade reflects solar radiation and reduces slab temperature on exposed external pours, whereas the clear grade is chosen specifically when appearance and inter-coat adhesion matter more than heat reflectance. Two factors govern field results: application timing and coverage. The film must be laid down continuously and at the right moment, just after bleed water disappears, so it is not punctured by foot traffic or remixed into the surface; and the stated coverage of 5-10 m2/litre must be respected, because over-spreading produces a discontinuous film that retains far less water than the laboratory figure implies. Acrylic curing compounds are intended to weather away over several weeks under UV and traffic; where a permanent sealer or a guaranteed bond for a heavy-duty topping is required, the curing film should be removed by light abrasion before the next layer is applied.
Where it is used
- Curing of suspended and ground-supported slabs, rafts and podiums in high-rise and commercial construction
- Industrial, warehouse and logistics-park floors where dust control is also required
- Curing of columns, beams, shear walls and other vertical and soffit elements
- Bridge decks, flyover slabs and other infrastructure pours exposed to drying winds
- Pre-cure finishing and dustproofing of power-floated and trowelled floors
- Sealing of concrete that will later receive tile adhesives, screeds or acrylic, epoxy and PU coatings (after appropriate surface preparation)
- Large pours where conventional water curing is impractical, labour-constrained or water-scarce
Key advantages
- Water-based and free of solvents, oils, waxes and chlorinated or saponifiable materials, making it low-odour and site-friendly
- Retains mix water for full cement hydration, improving strength gain and reducing surface permeability
- Significantly reduces plastic-shrinkage and early drying-shrinkage cracking on large exposed pours
- Dries to a clear, non-yellowing film that preserves the natural concrete appearance
- Doubles as a dustproofer, binding surface laitance on floors
- Compatible with later water-based and solvent-based acrylic, epoxy and polyurethane coatings (with proper preparation)
- Eliminates the labour, water consumption and supervision burden of traditional ponding or wet-hessian curing
- Fast spray application over large areas, allowing early foot traffic once dry
- Complies with ASTM C309 and ASTM C1315, giving consultants a recognised specification basis
Limitations & considerations
- Being an acrylic curing membrane, it is designed to gradually weather/abrade away and is not a permanent protective coating or floor sealer
- Where a heavy-duty topping, screed or high-bond coating follows, the cured film should be mechanically removed to ensure adhesion
- The clear grade does not reflect solar heat like the white grade, so on highly exposed external slabs in summer the white version may be preferable
- Performance depends heavily on correct application timing and on respecting the 5-10 m2/litre coverage; an over-spread or discontinuous film retains far less water
- Not a substitute for good concrete mix design, finishing or crack-control detailing
- As a water-based product it should be protected from rain until the film has dried and from frost during storage and transport
- Single grade/colour (clear); pigmented or reflective finishes require the white grade or Concure AB White
Selection & best practice
Spray Concure 1315 (Clear) as a single continuous coat as soon as the bleed/surface water has evaporated and the concrete will not be marked by the spray, using a clean low-pressure sprayer for an even film at 5-10 m2/litre depending on surface texture; on very absorbent or heavily textured surfaces apply a second coat at right angles to the first. Keep the film unbroken and avoid foot or plant traffic until it has dried. On vertical faces and soffits, apply immediately after formwork is struck while the surface is still damp. Where the slab will later receive a screed, tile bed or structural coating, plan to remove the curing film by light grinding, shot-blasting or scarifying and verify substrate soundness before overcoating. Always cross-check the latest Fosroc India Technical Data Sheet for the project, store containers between 5 C and 35 C out of direct sun, and confirm batch suitability for the specified element with Space Arc Engineering’s technical team.

How we position Fosroc Concure 1315 (Clear)
Within Fosroc’s curing range, Concure 1315 (Clear) sits alongside Concure 1315 White (the pigmented, heat-reflective grade for exposed external slabs) and Concure AB White, while economical wax-based resin compounds such as Concure WB and the Concure W range serve projects that simply need a basic curing membrane with no overcoating intent. Choose the Clear grade when the natural finish must be kept or a follow-on coating is planned, and the White grade when summer slab-temperature control matters more than appearance. For elements that also need permanent surface protection rather than a sacrificial curing film, Fosroc’s Dekguard or epoxy/PU floor systems are the right next step after the membrane is removed. Among competing brands available in India, credible alternatives include Sika Antisol and Sika curing compounds, MBS/MYK and Dr. Fixit acrylic curing compounds, and STP (Pidilite) curing products; specification choice usually comes down to the required ASTM C309/C1315 compliance, overcoatability and local technical support. Space Arc Engineering can supply Concure 1315 (Clear) and the wider Fosroc range together with application guidance to match the curing compound to the slab, exposure and any later flooring or coating system.
