Fosroc Concure 1315 White
Eco-friendly, acrylic-based white curing compound, sealer and dustproofer that locks in mix water, reflects heat and complies with ASTM C1315 Type 2, Class A.
What is it?
A single-component, water-based acrylic polymer curing compound in a white pigmented finish that forms a continuous moisture-retaining membrane over fresh concrete, doubling as a surface sealer and dustproofer.
Where is it used?
Suspended slabs, industrial and warehouse floors, columns, pavements, bridge decks and large horizontal pours where conventional ponding or wet-hessian curing is impractical, especially in hot Indian conditions.
Why use it?
It retains mix water for proper cement hydration without labour-intensive water curing, while the white pigment reflects solar heat to cut plastic-shrinkage cracking and surface dusting.
How is it applied?
Sprayed, brushed or rolled in a single uniform coat onto freshly finished concrete once surface bleed water has gone, at roughly 5 m2 per litre, with no overlap between passes.
About Fosroc Concure 1315 White
Fosroc Concure 1315 White is a ready-to-use membrane-forming curing compound built on an acrylic polymer system, supplied as a single-component white liquid. When applied to freshly placed concrete it dries to a continuous film that seals in the mixing water needed for cement hydration, so the concrete gains strength and durability without the constant water curing that site teams in India often struggle to maintain. The same film keeps performing after curing: it acts as a sealer and dustproofer that hardens the surface against wear and stops fine cement dust from lifting off floors.
The product belongs to Fosroc’s Concure range of curing and surface-treatment chemicals and is positioned as the eco-friendly choice in that family. It is water-based and free from solvents, oils, waxes and chlorinated or saponifiable materials, which means it does not leave a greasy or wax residue that would interfere with later toppings or coatings. That makes it a practical primer or base layer where the slab will eventually receive a water-based or solvent-based acrylic, an epoxy or a polyurethane coating.
What distinguishes the White grade from the clear version is the pigment. The white finish reflects a significant share of incident sunlight, lowering the surface temperature of the curing slab. In Delhi NCR summers and across most of the country, this reduced thermal gain helps control the rapid early moisture loss that drives plastic-shrinkage and crazing cracks. The pigment also gives applicators a visible guide, so they can see exactly where the compound has and has not been laid, reducing the risk of missed patches over large pour areas.
For specifiers and contractors, Concure 1315 White is essentially a single decision that solves three problems at once: it cures, it seals and it dustproofs, and it does so while meeting an internationally recognised performance standard for liquid membrane-forming curing compounds.
The technical insight
The core performance metric for any curing compound is water-retention efficiency, and Concure 1315 White is tested to ASTM C156, recording moisture loss of less than 0.4 kg/m2. That figure is the practical proof that the film holds enough mix water in the concrete for cement hydration to continue, which is what ASTM C1315 Type 2, Class A certification confirms. The compound carries roughly 33 plus or minus 1 percent solids (ASTM D1644), so a meaningful film is deposited per litre rather than the water simply evaporating away. The white pigment is engineered for UV stability: under accelerated weathering (ASTM G53) it resists yellowing and chalking, so the reflective benefit and appearance survive prolonged exposure rather than degrading in weeks. Drying is fast, under 4 hours at 23 degrees C, after which the surface tolerates foot traffic. Because the binder is acrylic and non-saponifiable, the cured film is compatible with later acrylic, epoxy and polyurethane systems without the bond-failure risk that wax- or resin-based curing compounds introduce.
Where it is used
- Curing of suspended floor slabs and large industrial floor pours where ponding or wet-hessian curing is impractical
- Curing and dustproofing of warehouse, factory and logistics-park floors
- Treatment of columns, beams and vertical concrete elements that cannot be water-cured
- Curing of pavements, hardstandings, parking decks and external slabs
- Sealing and hardening of cured concrete surfaces to reduce dusting under traffic
- Priming concrete that will later receive acrylic, epoxy or polyurethane floor coatings
- Heat-reflective curing of slabs cast in hot or high-evaporation site conditions
Key advantages
- Eliminates labour-intensive water curing, saving water, time and supervision on site
- White pigment reflects solar heat, lowering slab temperature and reducing plastic-shrinkage cracking
- Water-based and free from solvents, oils, waxes and chlorinated materials, so no greasy residue
- Complies with ASTM C1315 Type 2, Class A and tested to ASTM C156 for moisture retention
- Three functions in one product: curing membrane, surface sealer and dustproofer
- UV resistant with no yellowing or chalking under accelerated weathering (ASTM G53)
- Compatible as a primer with subsequent acrylic, epoxy and polyurethane coatings
- Visible white film lets applicators confirm complete, gap-free coverage on large pours
- Fast drying (under 4 hours at 23 degrees C) allows early foot traffic
Limitations & considerations
- The white pigmented film is opaque and not suitable where a clear or natural concrete finish must remain visible (use Concure 1315 Clear instead)
- As a membrane-forming compound it must be applied promptly after final finishing, once bleed water has dissipated, not hours later
- If the surface will receive a bonded screed or cementitious topping, the sealing film may need mechanical removal beforehand to ensure adhesion
- Coverage of around 5 m2 per litre is rate-dependent on surface texture; porous or tined surfaces consume more material
- Storage and application below roughly 5 degrees C are unsuitable; the product must be protected from freezing
- Not a structural waterproofing or crack-bridging membrane; it is a curing and surface treatment only
- Shelf life is limited to about 12 months when stored correctly below 35 degrees C
Selection & best practice
Apply Concure 1315 White as soon as the concrete surface has been finished and the bleed water has disappeared, while the surface is still damp but no longer glistening. Stir the container before use to redisperse the pigment. Lay a single uniform coat by airless or knapsack spray for large areas, or by brush and roller for smaller and vertical work, working systematically so that no area is overlapped or missed; the white film itself shows where coverage is complete. Target around 5 m2 per litre on a typical floated slab and increase the quantity on rough or textured surfaces. Apply only when surface and ambient temperatures are above about 5 degrees C, and avoid application if rain is imminent before the film has dried. Where the slab is destined for a bonded topping or screed, plan to mechanically abrade or remove the film first; where it will receive a coating, confirm the coating manufacturer accepts an acrylic-cured surface and carry out a trial. Store containers shaded, below 35 degrees C, and use within the 12-month shelf life.

How we position Fosroc Concure 1315 White
Within the Fosroc range, Concure 1315 White sits at the premium, standard-compliant end of curing compounds. Its natural stablemates are Concure 1315 Clear (same chemistry without the heat-reflective pigment, used where appearance matters) and the water-based Concure WB White, while lower-cost wax-based options such as Concure WB and Concure A are alternatives where coating compatibility and a residue-free finish are not priorities. For projects that also require evaporation control before curing, an anti-evaporant aid such as Fosroc Proofex or an aliphatic spray-applied retarder may be used alongside. Among competitor brands available in India, credible equivalents include Sika Antisol and Antisol WB curing compounds, MC-Bauchemie’s curing membranes, Dr. Fixit Pidicure curing compounds and STP’s curing products. Concure 1315 White’s distinguishing claims are its ASTM C1315 Type 2 Class A compliance, the genuinely non-saponifiable acrylic film that primes for later coatings, and the heat-reflective white pigment, which together make it a strong choice for high-spec industrial floors and hot-climate pours rather than the cheapest commodity curing option. As an authorised Fosroc distributor and applicator across Delhi NCR and Pan-India, Space Arc Engineering can advise on the right Concure grade, supply genuine stock in 20 and 200 litre packs, and support specification and application on site.
