Concure WB — Water-Based Curing Compound for Fresh Concrete and Cement Screeds

Concure WB

Water-Based Curing Compound for Fresh Concrete and Cement Screeds

Authorized Project Distributor — Fosroc India | Space Arc Engineering, Ghaziabad

Product Overview

Concure WB is a water-based, white-pigmented curing compound for fresh concrete slabs, ground slabs, precast elements, cement screeds, and concrete repair mortars. Applied by spray or roller immediately after the concrete surface has been finished (when the free water sheen has just disappeared), Concure WB forms a thin continuous film that seals the concrete surface and retains the moisture needed for cement hydration and strength development for a minimum of 7 days. Without adequate curing, concrete can lose 30 to 40% of its potential 28-day compressive strength due to premature moisture evaporation — particularly problematic on exposed slabs in hot, windy, or low-humidity conditions common across North India. Concure WB complies with ASTM C309 and is the most widely used proprietary curing compound in the Fosroc India range. The white pigment helps in visual confirmation of complete coverage during application and also reflects sunlight to reduce concrete surface temperature in hot weather. Concure WB can be washed off the concrete surface before application of coatings, adhesives, or floor finishes. Space Arc Engineering distributes Concure WB for construction projects across Delhi NCR, Ghaziabad, and Northern India.

Applications

  • Curing of fresh concrete ground slabs and floor slabs
  • Precast concrete element curing after demoulding
  • Road and pavement concrete curing after finishing
  • Concrete repair mortar and screed curing after application
  • Industrial floor concrete curing in exposed conditions
  • Bridge deck and structural slab concrete curing

Key Advantages

  • Complies with ASTM C309 curing membrane standard
  • Water-based — low VOC and safe to use indoors
  • White pigment reflects sunlight and confirms coverage visually
  • Prevents plastic shrinkage and early strength loss from drying
  • Easy spray application with conventional spraying equipment
  • Washable before coating or finishing application

Frequently Asked Questions

When exactly should Concure WB be applied to fresh concrete?

Concure WB should be applied immediately after the concrete surface has been finished and the free water sheen has just disappeared from the surface. Applying too early (while bleed water is still on the surface) will dilute the compound and reduce its effectiveness. Applying too late (when the surface has already started to dry out and lighten in colour) means moisture has already been lost. In hot, windy conditions, apply as soon as possible after finishing to prevent plastic shrinkage cracking.

Does Concure WB need to be removed before applying floor coatings?

Yes. Concure WB forms a film that can prevent adhesion of subsequent floor coatings, adhesives, or sealers. It must be removed by water washing and light mechanical abrasion (light diamond grinding or wire brushing) before applying any bonded floor finish. The film degrades naturally over time with foot traffic, but for coatings, mechanical removal is recommended to ensure adequate bond of the subsequent system to the concrete.

Can Concure WB be used on concrete repair mortars like Renderoc products?

Yes. Concure WB is suitable for curing cementitious repair mortars including Renderoc S2, HB2, SP40, and LA Xtra. Apply Concure WB immediately after finishing the repair mortar surface. For vertical and overhead repairs that cannot be spray-cured, alternative curing methods such as damp hessian and polythene sheet covering should be used. Always refer to the specific Renderoc TDS for curing recommendations.
