Fosroc Lokfix Accessories
The application consumables and installation tools that make Fosroc Lokfix anchor resins perform as designed – mixer nozzles, extension nozzles, piston plugs, hole-cleaning brushes, blower pumps and hollow-block sleeves.
What is it?
A range of application consumables and installation tools supplied by Fosroc for use with the Lokfix family of chemical anchoring resins – covering hole preparation, resin dispensing and deep or overhead fixings. Not a chemical product itself, but the kit that ensures the resin is placed correctly.
Where is it used?
On any site using Fosroc Lokfix resin anchors – rebar starter bars, threaded studs, holding-down bolts and base plates fixed into concrete, masonry and hollow block on infrastructure, industrial, commercial and residential projects.
Why use it?
Correct anchor performance depends on a clean, dry hole and void-free resin placement to the base of the drilling. The accessories deliver exactly that – and Fosroc warranty and design load tables assume installation with the specified tools.
How is it applied?
Drill to depth, clean with the steel brush, clear dust with the blower pump, fit a fresh mixer nozzle (add extension nozzle and piston plug for deep or large holes), dispense from the base outward, then insert the fixing within the resin gel time.
About Fosroc Lokfix Accessories
Fosroc Lokfix Accessories are the supporting consumables and hand tools that accompany the Lokfix range of chemical anchoring resins. They are not an adhesive or grout in their own right – they are the items that let an installer prepare the drilled hole correctly and deliver the resin to the full depth of the embedment without trapped air or voids. On paper a chemical anchor looks simple: drill, fill, insert the bar. In practice the published pull-out and bond capacities only hold true when the hole is clean and dry and the resin reaches the base of the drilling, and that is precisely what these accessories are designed to guarantee. The headline items are spare static mixer nozzles, steel hole-cleaning brushes, dust blower pumps, application (dispensing) guns, extension nozzles, piston plugs and perforated hollow-block sleeves. Each Lokfix cartridge or sausage is supplied with its own mixer nozzle, but on a real job – where one cartridge fills many holes with pauses between – the nozzle cures off and must be swapped, so spare nozzles are effectively a per-hole consumable rather than an optional extra. The brush and blower pump address the single most common cause of anchor failure on Indian sites: drilling dust left in the hole, which acts as a bond-breaker between resin and concrete. The extension nozzle and piston plug come into play for deep and overhead fixings, where gravity and hole geometry make it difficult to fill from the base upward. The hollow-block sleeve is a perforated plastic mesh tube that contains the resin inside hollow masonry so it keys into the cavity walls rather than running away into the voids. For Space Arc Engineering’s contractor and consultant customers, the practical point is this: the accessories are inexpensive relative to the resin and the structural consequence of a failed anchor, yet they are routinely the thing that gets skipped on site. Specifying and supplying them alongside the resin is what converts a Lokfix cartridge from a tube of glue into a certified, design-load anchor.
The technical insight
The function of the accessories maps directly onto the failure modes of bonded anchors. A static mixer nozzle blends the two-component resin (resin plus hardener for the epoxy Lokfix E grades, or resin plus catalyst for the styrene/vinylester polyester grades) at the correct ratio as it passes through the helical baffles – the first 10 to 15 cm of every nozzle is discarded because it is unmixed and will not cure. Once resin has cured inside a nozzle it cannot be reused, which is why spare nozzles are consumed roughly one per cartridge-session. For embedment, Fosroc’s guidance gives clear thresholds: an extension nozzle is needed where the embedment depth exceeds approximately 190 mm, so that resin can be injected at the base of the hole and the nozzle withdrawn as it fills, preventing air entrapment; a piston plug is required where the hole diameter exceeds 20 mm or the embedment depth exceeds 240 mm, and it is used together with the extension nozzle. The piston plug seats in the hole and is pushed up the bore by the advancing resin, eliminating slump and back-pressure voids in wide and overhead holes – critical for soffit-fixed rebar and overhead studs where the resin would otherwise sag out before cure. Hole cleaning follows the standard brush-blow-brush-blow cycle: the steel brush diameter must suit the drilled hole so the bristles scour the bore wall, and the blower pump must reach the base of the hole to evacuate fines. For hollow or perforated substrates the mesh sleeve confines the resin so a mechanical key forms against the block webs instead of the resin disappearing into the cavity.
Where it is used
- Spare static mixer nozzles for re-priming a Lokfix cartridge between holes once the previous nozzle has cured
- Steel cleaning brushes sized to the drilled hole for scouring drilling dust from the bore wall
- Dust blower pumps for clearing fines and loose debris from the base of the hole before resin injection
- Application / dispensing guns matched to Lokfix cartridge and sausage pack formats
- Extension nozzles for filling deep holes (embedment beyond ~190 mm) from the base upward
- Piston plugs for large-diameter (>20 mm) and deep (>240 mm) holes, and for slump-free overhead fixings
- Perforated hollow-block sleeves for anchoring threaded rod or rebar into hollow masonry and perforated brick
- Overhead and soffit fixings where void-free placement and resin retention are essential
Key advantages
- Enables the published Lokfix bond, pull-out and design load values to be achieved on site rather than only in the lab
- Correct hole cleaning (brush plus blower) removes the dust bond-breaker that is the leading cause of anchor underperformance
- Extension nozzle and piston plug guarantee void-free filling for deep, wide and overhead anchors
- Hollow-block sleeves make reliable anchoring into hollow masonry possible where bare resin would simply run away
- Fresh mixer nozzles ensure correct two-component mixing for every hole, avoiding partially cured or off-ratio resin
- Low cost relative to the resin and to the structural risk of a failed anchor
- Backed by an authorised Fosroc distributor supply chain so the right items reach the site with the resin
Limitations & considerations
- These are application accessories, not an adhesive – they provide no anchoring capacity on their own and must be used with a Lokfix resin
- Mixer nozzles and the hollow-block sleeves are single-use consumables; a cured nozzle cannot be cleaned and reused
- Item selection is governed by hole diameter and embedment depth, so the correct brush size and nozzle/plug combination must be chosen per detail
- Skipping the brush-blow cleaning cycle defeats the purpose; the accessories only help if the documented procedure is followed
- Specific accessory part numbers, kit contents and pack quantities vary by Lokfix grade and region and should be confirmed against the current TDS
- No standalone strength, IS/ASTM/BS standard or load rating applies to the accessories themselves – performance ratings belong to the resin system
Selection & best practice
Treat the accessories as part of the anchor specification, not an afterthought. For every Lokfix resin order, calculate consumables per hole: one mixer nozzle per cartridge-session, an extension nozzle for embedments beyond about 190 mm, and a piston plug wherever the hole is over 20 mm diameter or over 240 mm deep – the plug and extension nozzle are used together. Always run the brush-blow-brush-blow cleaning cycle and confirm the hole is clean and dry before dispensing; in damp or flooded holes select the appropriate Lokfix grade rated for the condition. Discard the first 10 to 15 cm of resin from each new nozzle as it is unmixed. Inject from the base of the hole outward and withdraw the nozzle as the hole fills, then insert the fixing with a slow twisting motion within the resin’s gel time. For hollow or perforated substrates always use the mesh sleeve. Keep spare nozzles, brushes and plugs on site in excess of the theoretical count – running out mid-pour forces an installer to reuse a curing nozzle or skip cleaning, which is exactly where anchor capacity is lost.

How we position Fosroc Lokfix Accessories
Fosroc Lokfix Accessories sit alongside, not in competition with, the Lokfix resin range – they are the installation companion to grades such as the pure-epoxy Lokfix E77 / E55 (high-load rebar and stud anchoring), Lokfix EP, the polyester/vinylester Lokfix P80/S80 and Lokfix S grades (faster, more economical fixings), and specials like Lokfix RA and Lokfix Dur. For non-cartridge or large-volume anchoring and base-plate work, contractors typically pair these with Fosroc’s flowable grouts such as Conbextra GP2 / EP grouts, while structural rebar bonding may also reference Nitobond epoxy bonding aids. Because the accessories are resin-application tooling, the relevant competitor comparison is at the system level: Sika offers equivalent anchoring resins (Sika AnchorFix and SikaAnchor) with their own mixer nozzles, extension tubes, blow-out pumps, brushes and sleeve baskets; Hilti’s HIT system is the benchmark for injection anchoring with dispensers, mixing nozzles, extension tubes, piston plugs and sieve sleeves; and Bostik/Den Braven and other brands supply similar consumables. In the Indian market, MBS (MYK), STP, Dr. Fixit (Pidilite) and other players compete more on the resin and repair-mortar side than on a dedicated branded accessory line. The honest position for a buyer is that the accessories themselves are broadly comparable across brands – the differentiator is matching genuine Fosroc accessories to genuine Fosroc resin so that the validated mixing ratio, hole-filling method and published design loads all hold. Using off-brand nozzles or skipping the piston plug on a deep overhead anchor is exactly where capacity and warranty are lost, which is why Space Arc Engineering supplies the accessories as part of the specified Lokfix anchoring package rather than as an optional add-on.
