Two-Component Solvent-Free Epoxy Floor Coating for Industrial and Commercial Floors

Authorized Project Distributor — Sika India | Space Arc Engineering, Ghaziabad

Product Overview

Sikafloor 264 is a two-component, solvent-free epoxy resin floor coating from Sika designed to provide a seamless, smooth, hygienic, and durable protective surface on concrete floors in industrial, commercial, and institutional facilities. It is a self-smoothing formulation that flows and levels after application to produce a glossy, flat, pinhole-free surface without trowelling, making it suitable for large floor areas where rapid, uniform application is essential. Sikafloor 264 is formulated without solvents, which eliminates both the fire hazard of solvent-containing floor coatings during application and the prolonged solvent off-gassing period that prevents re-occupation of the coated area. This makes Sikafloor 264 particularly suitable for occupied buildings, food processing areas, pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, hospitals, and laboratories where chemical exposure limits must be met during and after coating application. The cured Sikafloor 264 film provides excellent resistance to a wide range of chemicals encountered in Indian industrial facilities including mineral oils and greases, hydraulic oils, dilute acids and alkalis, cleaning agents, and many solvents. It is impervious to water and liquid contamination, making it easy to clean with a mop or pressure washer and resistant to bacterial colonisation in joints or surface pores — there are no pores or joints in a properly applied Sikafloor 264 floor. Sikafloor 264 is typically applied as a two or three coat system over Sikafloor 161 epoxy primer on mechanically prepared concrete, achieving a total system dry film thickness of 500 to 1000 microns for standard industrial use and up to 1500 microns for chemical process areas. It is available in a range of standard and custom colours. Space Arc Engineering supplies Sikafloor 264 for pharmaceutical facilities, food processing plants, warehouses, car parks, laboratories, and commercial buildings throughout Delhi NCR and Uttar Pradesh.

Applications

  • Pharmaceutical manufacturing facility floors — hygienic, cleanroom-compatible, chemical-resistant
  • Food and beverage processing plant floors — seamless, easy-clean, no bacterial harbourage
  • Warehouse and logistics centre floors — hardwearing, forklift-resistant, dust-free surface
  • Hospital, clinic, and laboratory floors — seamless hygienic surface, chemical and disinfectant resistance
  • Car park and underground parking floor coating — oil-resistant, easy-clean marking
  • Electronic and precision manufacturing floor — ESD (electrostatic dissipative) variant available

Key Advantages

  • Solvent-free formulation — no VOC off-gassing, safe for occupied buildings and sensitive environments

Frequently Asked Questions

How many coats of Sikafloor 264 are required for a standard industrial factory floor and what is the total system specification?

For a standard Indian industrial factory floor subject to pedestrian traffic, occasional light forklift traffic, and exposure to oils and cleaning chemicals, the recommended Sikafloor 264 system specification is a three-coat system applied over mechanically prepared concrete as follows: Coat 1 — Sikafloor 161 epoxy primer: applied to the mechanically prepared and dust-free concrete at 0.2 to 0.3 kg per m2, broadcast with dry silica sand at 0.3 to 0.5 kg per m2 while still wet to provide a key for subsequent coats. Allow to cure for 16 to 24 hours at 25 degrees C. Coat 2 — Sikafloor 264 intermediate coat (body coat): applied at 0.4 to 0.6 kg per m2, providing a DFT of approximately 300 to 400 microns. The intermediate coat fills minor surface undulations and pin holes in the concrete surface and builds the coating thickness. Allow to cure for 16 to 24 hours. Coat 3 — Sikafloor 264 finish coat: applied at 0.3 to 0.4 kg per m2, providing a smooth, glossy, pinhole-free top surface with a DFT of approximately 200 to 300 microns. Total system DFT approximately 500 to 700 microns. For areas subject to heavy forklift traffic or aggressive chemical exposure, an additional Sikafloor 264 coat or a switch to a Sikafloor epoxy mortar or screeding system (such as Sikafloor 81 EpoCem or Sikafloor 325) at 2 to 3 mm thickness provides a more robust system for heavy-duty industrial use. Anti-slip aggregate (bauxite or aluminium oxide) can be broadcast into the final wet coat to provide a slip-resistant finish on ramps, loading docks, or wet process areas.
