SikaGrout 212
Flowable Non-Shrink Cementitious Grout for Machine Bases, Column Bases, and Anchor Bolt Setting
Authorized Project Distributor — Sika India | Space Arc Engineering, Ghaziabad
Product Overview
SikaGrout 212 is a pre-packaged, non-shrink, cementitious precision grout from Sika designed for the accurate setting and bedding of machine bases, structural column base plates, bridge bearing pads, crane rails, and anchor bolts in concrete foundations. It combines the strength and durability of high-quality cementitious concrete with a non-shrink, slightly expanding mechanism on setting that ensures the grout completely fills the void under the base plate or around the anchor bolt without forming settlement voids or shrinkage gaps — which are the critical quality requirement in precision grouting. In industrial machinery installation, the precision grout under a machine base plate must completely fill every void between the levelling plate and the concrete foundation, because any air void or shrinkage gap means the machine weight rests on the plate bolts rather than uniformly on the grout bed, causing vibration-induced fatigue cracking in both the grout and the concrete foundation, misalignment of the machine shaft, and premature bearing failure. SikaGrout 212 achieves the zero-shrinkage requirement through a controlled expansion mechanism that compensates for the natural chemical shrinkage of hydrating Portland cement. The flowable consistency at the correct water content allows SikaGrout 212 to be poured from the high side of the base plate and flow under the plate to fill all voids without hand rodding or vibration — and the fluid front is visible emerging from the far side of the base plate when the void is completely filled. SikaGrout 212 achieves compressive strength above 40 MPa at 28 days, providing a robust structural grout bed. Space Arc Engineering supplies SikaGrout 212 for industrial plant erection, structural steel base plate grouting, precast column erection, and bridge bearing installation throughout Delhi NCR and Uttar Pradesh.

Frequently Asked Questions
How should the concrete foundation be prepared and the formwork set up before SikaGrout 212 is poured under a machine base plate?
Correct preparation of the concrete foundation and formwork is essential for a successful SikaGrout 212 machine base plate grouting operation. Foundation surface preparation: the concrete foundation pad surface must be prepared by sandblasting, bush-hammering, or scabbling to remove the entire concrete surface laitance and expose fresh aggregate — this provides the mechanical key needed for SikaGrout 212 to bond to the foundation and prevent the grout pad from sliding under machine vibration loads. The prepared surface must be clean — blow off all dust with dry compressed air. Pre-wet the concrete foundation surface for a minimum of 4 to 6 hours before grouting by flooding the prepared surface with clean water, then remove standing water and ensure a saturated surface-dry (SSD) condition immediately before pouring SikaGrout 212. This pre-wetting is essential — a dry concrete foundation will absorb water from the SikaGrout 212 mix, increasing the water-to-cement ratio of the near-surface grout zone, reducing strength at the bond interface, and potentially preventing the grout from flowing fully under the base plate before it stiffens. Base plate and anchor bolt preparation: all anchor bolts must be grouted in position (if not cast-in) or already in final position with nuts run up to within 20 to 30 mm of the base plate. Clean all oil, grease, and concrete release agent from the underside of the base plate — SikaGrout 212 does not bond to oily surfaces. Formwork installation: build a close-fitting timber or steel formwork dam around the base plate perimeter, leaving a minimum 75 mm clearance on all sides between the base plate edge and the formwork inner face. The formwork must be watertight — seal all joints with tape to prevent grout leakage. Leave one side of the formwork open (the high side from which grout will be poured). Pour SikaGrout 212 from the open high side and monitor the far (low) side opening for grout emergence, confirming void filling is complete.
