STP ShaliFloor SL TC 2E
A solvent-free, two-component self-levelling epoxy topping that flows out to a seamless, glossy 1-2 mm floor built for factories, warehouses and hygiene-critical spaces.
What is it?
A 100% solids, two-component (2K) epoxy resin self-levelling floor topping from STP Limited, applied at 1-2 mm over primed concrete to give a jointless, glossy, chemical-resistant surface.
Where is it used?
Manufacturing floors, warehouses, retail and institutional spaces, showrooms and F&B processing areas where a smooth, easy-clean and durable finish is needed.
Why use it?
It self-levels under its own weight to hide minor substrate imperfections, cures hard (compressive strength 40-45 N/mm2) and wipes clean, cutting both installation labour and long-term maintenance.
How is it applied?
Grind or shot-blast the slab, prime with ShaliPrime 2E SF, then power-mix the pre-weighed A+B packs and pour/spread within the 1-1.5 hour pot life, releasing air with a spiked roller.
About STP ShaliFloor SL TC 2E
ShaliFloor SL TC 2E is STP Limited’s economical self-levelling epoxy floor topping, built for the kind of high-footfall and light-industrial floors that are common across Indian factories, godowns and showrooms. It arrives as two pre-weighed components that are simply combined on site, so there is no guesswork on the mix and no solvents flashing off into an occupied building. Once poured, the resin flows out under its own weight to a nominal 1-2 mm, filling small trowel marks and porosity to leave a monolithic, glossy skin over the concrete. The result is a floor with no joints for dirt to lodge in, which is exactly what a food line, a pharma corridor or a car showroom wants.\n\nFor specifiers, the appeal is the balance it strikes. It is not a heavy-duty screed and it does not pretend to be one; instead it delivers a clean, hard-wearing, hygienic wearing surface at a sensible price point and thickness. Cured properties are solid for its class – roughly 40-45 N/mm2 in compression, Shore D hardness of 70-75 and a concrete-failure bond to a properly prepared slab – which means the coating stays put and the substrate gives way first if anything ever does. Space Arc Engineering supplies and applies the system across Delhi NCR and Pan-India, and can advise where this 2E grade is the right call versus a thicker screed or a PU option.
The technical insight
The self-levelling behaviour comes down to rheology and solids loading. Because the system is 100% solids with a mixed density of about 1.42 g/cc and no solvent to evaporate, the freshly poured resin behaves as a dense, free-flowing liquid that seeks its own level before the epoxy-amine reaction stiffens it. That reaction is what governs your working window: a 1-1.5 hour pot life at normal temperatures means the material must be mixed at 300-400 rpm, poured and de-aired promptly, because once cross-linking accelerates the flow is gone. The primer step – ShaliPrime 2E SF at 0.35-0.45 kg/m2 – is not optional dressing; it seals the porous concrete so the topping does not lose resin into the substrate (which would cause pinholing and outgassing bubbles) and it develops the chemical bond that lets the interface fail in the concrete rather than at the glue line. The trade-off baked into the chemistry is UV stability: aromatic epoxy resins chalk and yellow under sunlight, which is precisely why this is an interior product.
Where it is used
- Self-levelling wearing floor for engineering and manufacturing units
- Seamless, easy-clean floors in warehouses, godowns and distribution centres
- Retail outlets, showrooms and institutional buildings (schools, hospital non-wet areas)
- Car showrooms, service bays and light garage floors
- Food, beverage and dairy processing areas needing a hygienic finish
- Packaging, assembly and electronics floors where dust control matters
- Refurbishment of tired concrete slabs that need a fresh, glossy surface
- Corridors and utility rooms requiring a jointless, wipe-clean floor
Key advantages
- 100% solids and solvent-free, so it can be laid in occupied or poorly ventilated interiors with minimal odour
- Self-levels under its own weight, hiding minor substrate imperfections and reducing skilled trowelling labour
- Jointless, non-porous finish that resists dirt ingress and is genuinely easy to clean and disinfect
- Strong cured performance for its class: 40-45 N/mm2 compressive strength and Shore D 70-75 hardness
- Concrete-failure bond (1.5-2.0 N/mm2) to a correctly primed slab, so the coating stays anchored
- Good resistance to oils and mild acids/alkalis, plus abrasion resistance of 40-50 mg loss (CS10, 1000 cycles)
- Pre-weighed A+B packs remove on-site mix-ratio errors
- High-gloss, bright appearance that lifts the look of industrial and retail spaces
Limitations & considerations
- Not for outdoor or sunlit areas – the aromatic epoxy chalks and yellows under UV
- Short pot life of 1-1.5 hours demands quick mixing, pouring and de-airing once components are combined
- Substrate must be sound, dry and mechanically prepared (grinding/shot-blasting) plus primed – it cannot be poured over dust, laitance or damp concrete
- At 1-2 mm it is a topping, not a heavy-duty screed, so it is unsuited to severe impact or point-loading
- Full chemical/mechanical cure takes 7 days before aggressive service or wash-down
- Gloss surface can be slippery when wet unless an anti-skid aggregate or texture is specified
Selection & best practice
Prepare the slab mechanically – grind or shot-blast to remove laitance, old coatings, oil and grease, and open the surface so the primer can key in. Confirm the concrete is sound and dry before priming with ShaliPrime 2E SF at 0.35-0.45 kg/m2, and let the primer become tacky before topping. Work at 10-45C ambient; avoid very cold or very hot slabs. Add Component B to Component A and power-mix at 300-400 rpm for 2-3 minutes until uniform, scraping the sides so no unmixed resin remains, then pour immediately – remember the 1-1.5 hour pot life shrinks in summer heat. Spread to an even 1-2 mm and pass a spiked roller to release entrained air and avoid pinholes and blisters. Protect the fresh floor from dust and traffic: foot traffic after about 1 day, vehicles after 2 days, and hold back aggressive chemicals or wet cleaning until the 7-day full cure. Where the floor will get wet in service, specify a broadcast anti-skid finish.

How we position STP ShaliFloor SL TC 2E
ShaliFloor SL TC 2E sits at the value end of STP’s self-levelling epoxy range – it is the economical 2 mm topping. Where a specifier wants a decorative aggregate-filled or higher-build version, STP’s own ShaliFloor SL TC 4E is the sister product to step up to, and heavier or chemically aggressive duty points toward STP’s polyurethane (PU/EPU) floor systems. It pairs with ShaliPrime 2E SF as its dedicated primer. Within the wider Space Arc catalogue, buyers comparing brands often weigh it against Fosroc’s Nitoflor self-levelling epoxy line and MC-Bauchemie / Master Builders Solutions flooring, while UV-exposed or wet external areas are better served by a PU deck coating from any of these families. Space Arc can supply and apply across all of these, so the choice is driven by service conditions rather than a single label.
