Sikadur-Combiflex Adhesive IN

Two-part thixotropic epoxy adhesive for bonding the Sikadur-Combiflex joint-sealing tape

Product Overview

Sikadur-Combiflex Adhesive IN is a two-part, thixotropic epoxy adhesive used to bond Sikadur-Combiflex SG flexible polyolefin tapes onto concrete and other substrates as part of a high-performance joint-sealing system. Formulated from epoxy resin and selected fillers, it forms a strong, durable bond on both dry and matt-damp surfaces for internal and external applications. The system is widely used to seal expansion joints, construction joints, cracks and precast panel joints where reliable, movement-accommodating waterproofing is required. Mixed at 2:1 by weight to a concrete-grey paste, it offers a tensile adhesion strength above 2 N/mm² and develops high compressive strength as it cures. With a pot life of around 30 minutes, it suits controlled installation. Space Arc Engineering, an authorized Sika distributor in India, supplies Sikadur-Combiflex Adhesive IN to waterproofing and joint-sealing specialists.

Features & Benefits

  • Bonds Sikadur-Combiflex SG tapes for a flexible, watertight joint-sealing system
  • High tensile adhesion above 2 N/mm² on both dry and matt-damp concrete
  • Thixotropic, non-sag paste that stays put on vertical and overhead joints
  • Suitable for expansion joints, construction joints, cracks and precast panels
  • Performs in internal and external locations with strong long-term durability
  • Pre-batched 2:1 set reduces mixing errors on site for consistent results

Technical Highlights

CoverageFor 200 mm wide tape, consumption is about 1.2 kg/m at 1 mm thickness and about 1.4 kg/m at 2 mm thickness. Confirm against TDS for the tape and joint used.
StrengthCompressive strength of 55 N/mm² (7 days at +30 °C) and tensile adhesion above 2 N/mm² on dry and damp concrete.
PerformanceThixotropic, non-sag epoxy that bonds flexible joint tapes for durable, movement-accommodating waterproofing internally and externally.
Application ConditionsApply between +10 °C and +40 °C on dry or matt-damp (no standing water) substrates; mix Part A to Part B at 2:1 by weight with a pot life of about 30 minutes (100 g, +30 °C).
PackagingSupplied as a 6 kg pre-batched set — Part A 4 kg (white) and Part B 2 kg (black); mixed colour concrete grey.

Applications

  • Sealing movement and expansion joints in basements, tanks and treatment plants
  • Bonding joint tapes over construction joints in tunnels and underground works
  • Crack-bridging and sealing on water-retaining concrete structures
  • Joint sealing between precast panels in infrastructure and industrial buildings
  • Detailing of difficult joints and penetrations in roofs, channels and culverts

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Sikadur-Combiflex Adhesive IN used for?

It is a two-part epoxy adhesive used to bond Sikadur-Combiflex SG flexible tapes to concrete and other substrates, sealing expansion joints, construction joints, cracks and precast panel joints in waterproofing applications.

Can Sikadur-Combiflex Adhesive IN be used on damp concrete?

Yes. It bonds to dry or matt-damp substrates, provided there is no standing water, and develops a tensile adhesion strength above 2 N/mm² on both dry and damp concrete. Apply between +10 °C and +40 °C.

What is the mixing ratio and pot life?

Part A and Part B are mixed at 2:1 by weight to a concrete-grey paste. The pot life is about 30 minutes for a 100 g mass at +30 °C, so mix only what can be applied within that time. Refer to the TDS for full detail.

How much adhesive is needed per metre of tape?

For 200 mm wide tape, consumption is roughly 1.2 kg/m at 1 mm bond thickness and about 1.4 kg/m at 2 mm. Actual usage depends on tape width, surface profile and bead thickness.
