Conbextra EP10

Low Viscosity Epoxy Injection Resin for Structural Crack Repair in Concrete

Authorized Project Distributor — Fosroc India | Space Arc Engineering, Ghaziabad

Product Overview

Conbextra EP10 is a two-component, low viscosity, solvent-free epoxy resin system for the structural reinstatement of cracks in concrete by low-pressure injection or vacuum injection technique. When injected into a concrete crack under low pressure, Conbextra EP10 penetrates fully into hairline cracks (as fine as 0.1 mm width) due to its very low viscosity, then cures to form a fully structural epoxy weld that restores the tensile and shear continuity of the concrete section across the plane of the crack. Unlike cementitious crack fillers that merely seal the surface, Conbextra EP10 injection creates a monolithic repair where the healed crack is stronger in tension than the surrounding concrete. It is used to repair structural cracks in reinforced concrete beams, columns, walls, slabs, bridge decks, tunnels, and foundations caused by overload, settlement, thermal movement, or construction defects. The crack must be dormant (non-moving) for Conbextra EP10 injection to be a suitable repair strategy — active moving cracks require flexible sealant repair instead. Space Arc Engineering distributes and supports crack injection using Conbextra EP10 for structural repair projects across Delhi NCR and Northern India.

Applications

  • Structural crack repair in reinforced concrete beams and columns
  • Crack injection in bridge decks and concrete girders
  • Foundation and retaining wall structural crack reinstatement
  • Slab and floor structural crack repair by injection
  • Tunnel lining crack injection to restore structural continuity
  • Post-tensioned slab crack repair by low-pressure epoxy injection

Key Advantages

  • Very low viscosity penetrates hairline cracks down to 0.1 mm width
  • Fully structural repair — restores tensile and shear continuity
  • Cured strength exceeds the tensile strength of concrete
  • Solvent-free — low toxicity and suitable for enclosed spaces
  • Low pressure injection minimises risk of crack widening during repair
  • Proven Fosroc technology for structural crack reinstatement

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Conbextra EP10 be used on active (live) cracks?

No. Conbextra EP10 is rigid after curing and cannot accommodate movement across the crack plane. It is suitable only for dormant cracks — cracks that have stopped moving due to the cause of cracking having been stabilised. For active or moving cracks (due to ongoing settlement, thermal cycling, or vibration), a flexible polyurethane or epoxy sealant system is needed instead. A structural engineer should assess crack classification before specifying the repair method.

What injection pressure should be used for Conbextra EP10?

Conbextra EP10 is injected using low-pressure (0.3 to 0.5 MPa maximum) hand-operated or mechanical injection pumps. High pressure is not used for epoxy crack injection as it can widen the crack or cause surface damage. The low pressure of the injection system, combined with the very low viscosity of EP10, is what enables it to penetrate hairline cracks fully without mechanical force.

How are ports installed before injecting Conbextra EP10?

Injection ports (packers) are typically installed at 150 to 300 mm spacing along the crack, depending on crack width and depth. The crack surface between ports is sealed with a surface-applied epoxy paste (such as Nitobond EP mixed with filler) to prevent blow-out during injection. Injection begins at the lowest port and continues until epoxy appears at the next port up, then that port is capped and injection continues to the next, until the full crack length is injected.
